Description of Work: The job was done fantastically. The crew arrived and started pulling off the old roof only to discover several layers under the current layer. It took longer than anticipated. They worked professionally and were considerate of the surrounding area, covering any areas necessary for protection. The boss was very amiable and repaired what was necessary, explaining that the part of the roof that was shingled was in great condition and needed no work. He steered us in the right direction for a great job and great price. We interviewed other contractors who tried to steer us in directions that would have led to financial ruin, so to speak. |Our insurance company was involved with the repair, so I believe some of the contractors saw dollar signs instead of what was right and necessary. |All in all, I would highly recommend Stauffer Construction for any large roofing job. They are a solid family owned business who have been in the area for many, many years.

 + -1 moreAfter deciding to replace my old roof before it started to leak, I contacted Stauffer Construction after checking Angie's List. I got a response in a few hours and an estimate in two days. They arrived two weeks later to install a new roof. Clean up was very thorough as was the roof installation. This was not an emergency job and I was surprised they could do the job as quickly as they did right after hurricane Sandy.
Description of Work: Remove old shingles, install new paper and shingles and clean up/removal.

 + -1 moreStauffer Construction sent someone out the next day to give us an estimate, and he was knowledgeable and courteous. Although they were not the lowest estimate, we felt they were the best for what we needed done. We were a little worried because we were leaving on vacation the day they said they would begin work, but they assured us that we did not need to be there for them to work. I was worried that they might skimp on clean-up with us gone, but we returned to a new roof and a pretty clean yard, save for stray roofing nails. It took them two days to tear off the old roof and replace it with new shingles. They disposed of the old roofing material for us. They were easy to get a whold of and pleasant to work with. We would use them again when we have roofing repairs to be done.
Description of Work: Removing and disposing of old roof (asbestos particulate tiles) tiles and shingles, replacing with new shingles.

Description of Work: We had Stauffers install a new roof last year. They we so good and professional we then had them return later in the year to install new front entry way/door and back door, and then finally just recently we had them install replacemnt windows for the entire house. In each case they did a fantastic job. Very professional. On time. Very reasonable price and high quality work. A pleasure to work with

 + 0 moreThe company representatives always returned our call in a timely fashion. They came out to assess the work needed and gave us an estimate for new shingles. We were warned that there might be additional work needed once they took off the shingles and assessed the wood underneath. They arranged for the permit and started work as soon as the permit and materials were in place. The men were efficient, polite, and neat in their work. They did the roofing in 2 days, which included some replacement of the wood. When additional wood needed to be replaced they talked to us and gave us options as to which wood really needed to be replaced and which was still functional. They cleaned up beautifully. We have a pond near the house and our concern was debris falling from the roof into the pond. They provided a good covering for the pond to avoid problems. I can't say enough positive things about our experience with this compnay.
Description of Work: The workers removed existing roof shingles, installed new sheets of osb board to replace rotten ones, put in felt paper, new shingles, a ridge vent, and 2 rows of ice and storm shield. They also put in a drip edge, new pipe collars, and flashing. They arranged for a new, larger diameter gutter to be installed to alleviate some of the water issues we had in the past.
