It was good. I think the guy was honest. I appreciated the fact that he told me it would be a while before they could get us scheduled. I respected their honesty. He explained the process, what we needed and what it would cost.

My experience with Matthews Wall Anchor started last year when we had three different water proofing companies come out to our house to provide estimates. Matthews suggested we look into fixing our gutters/downspouts to see if that worked first before spending our money on a french drain. None of the other companies made this suggestions, so we were impressed by the Matthews representative professionalism and not trying to take a job just to make money. We decided to take the Matthews advise and get new downspouts and gutters. This did help. Since we felt we still needed to fix the concrete we selected Matthews (because the gentleman they sent out last year was so honest) and had them do the job. Jake, the supervisor on the job, was very patient with all of my questions and concerns. He and his crew were punctual both days on the job. On the last day, Jake walked around, again answering all of our questions and even made suggestions. I will definitely use Matthews in the future.

Provider looked over my problem and decided that the problem was really an outside issue, not an inside issue. He told me that unfortunately he couldn't help me with the flooded basement/garage because they don't do outside work.

We chose a different company to do this work.

They were honest with me and said there was no need for work at this time. I had them out for a thrid opinion. They offered to help in the future if need be.

The entire experience was excellent. I called for an estimate which was promptly scheduled. The estimator arrived at the appointed time and gave me several options to address the problem I was having. I then scheduled the service date and time which was confirmed by Matthews. The repair crew arrived when expected, reviewed the scope of work and immediately started. The three person crew was polite, courteous, took care to protect my lawn during the excavation, completed the work in a professional manner and thoroughly cleaned up their area at the end of the job. The lead on the crew then took the time to explain what was done and how to make any necessary adjustments. He then explained the lifetime warranty before leaving. I highly recommend Matthews.

Had another contractor to my home to talk about a different project in my basement. At that time, he expressed concerns over the condition of my foundation. He offered to do the work, but was talking about digging up around my foundation and trying to remedy the problem that way. One corner in particular would not be able to be fixed that way as it was under a porch that I just redone in 2011. He said he would write up an estimate and that I should feel free to call other companies to get a bid. I thought about the commercials for Matthew's and after checking Angies and the BBB, decided to get them a call. I scheduled an appointment with Marty and he was at my home within a couple of days. He had been with Matthew's for 15 years, set to measuring my walls and quickly figured how many wall anchors I would need. I had been to their website, but Marty provided a brochure explaining the process and explained what I could expect the anchors to ultimately do for my foundation. While future torqueing of my walls may not bring them completely plumb, the anchors come with a 50 year guarantee that the condition will not deteriorate. I agreed to the price of $ 8250 for 12 wall anchors( that was only for 2 walls). The work was scheduled for 2 weeks from then and would take 2 days. A merry band of young men showed up at my home, on time and ready to go to work. And do they ever earn their pay. I wish I could remember all 6 of their names, but I DO remember the crew leader's name was John. He was very professional and courteous. When he entered my home, he repeatedly asked me if I had any questions about what was going to be done, He tarped all the carpet on the basement steps and covered everything in the small bathroom that they, unfortunately, had to go through the drywall with 2 anchors. They worked really hard all day and would be back the next day to finish the job. The crew the next day was only 2 guys but when I sympathized that they had lost all their help, they had a great attitude that it was all in a day's work. Outside my home on the first day I was SURE they wouldn't be able to tamp all that crappy shale back into the holes, but the next day, you couldn't see where they had dug. They cleaned everything up in my basement, showed me how to torque the bolts, and, as I guess you can tell from this review, I couldn't be happier with the entire experience. When my budget allows, they will definitely be back to do the remaining two walls. P.S. The price for Matthew's was $1500 less than digging up around 2 walls outside and that difficult corner under the porch was anchored as it needed to be.

Our horses had to be out of the barn, due to the noise and safety of the workers in their stalls. Company understood the weather dynamics coming in and they worked well beyond their usual work day so that the horses could be back, safe, in their stalls that night. All because these men understood the need to shelter these horses, I will use them again. When they left, there was very little sign that they had ever been here, other than the nice new anchors.

Work crew arrived on time and completed all work within the planned duration. Basement is now dry and all equipment is operational. The work was performed for approximately 30% less than the estimated cost provided by a competitor for a similar solution.

I had asked for a quote on what I thought would be significant foundation work on a home we are purchasing. With very little notice, Damien Ozoskey came to the site on a Saturday morning. He pointed out to me that the basement cracking I observed did not actually impact the footer, and that there was nothing to do except correct outside gutters and downspouts. Unlike firms which try to invent or inflate work to generate revenue, Damien took the high ground. If I ever need such work in the future, I would not hesitate to call Damien at Matthews Wall Anchor.

There were Matthews Wall Anchors in part of our foundation when we bought our house in 2007. We noticed shifting on one wall and were having rain water in our basement. Matthews was quite responsive. Turns out that there was an old cement patio underneath a wooden one that was pushing against the foundation. Matthews took out the old patio for a nominal charge and even hauled away the wood from the wooden patio which we had torn out for free. They dug the french drain for free and only charged us for the gravel and rubber membrane. They did a great deal of work for a reasonable price. Really, none of this was warranted but they treated it like it was. Since then the cracks in our walls have closed and our basement is dry.

They are professional, punctual, and efficient. I have nothing bad to say about this company. They knew exactly what they were doing and I would use them again.

They really do an excellent job. Engineers and realtors recommend them a lot. They are very professional. They showed up when they said they would and they finished the project when they said they would. The cleaned up after themselves. They came with a warranty. The price was great as well. They did all the necessary permits and inspections.

I would recommend Matthews based on the original work that they did for us, and based on their professionalism. They also offer the best warranty on their work. I got the other bidder to match Matthews' warranty before I would accept their bid.

Went very well, the wall actually moved back over 5 inches! Workers were very efficient, yard was put back together satisfactorily. Really well done job and no complaints.

I called them in regards to a serious mold problem I have in one of my bedroom cupboards. They were very professional and knowledgeable in providing information. However, most of my house sits on a cement slab, including the bedroom. Their company works primarily on basement foundations so they were unable to be of assistance.

Overall, they did an excellent job. It has been over a year since the work was completed, and I wanted to wait until we had significant rainfall (Sandy just came through) to make a judgement. Prior to their work the basement would get wet in the most minor of rainfalls. The basement has remained dry since the day they completed installation. I did run into one issue with the team leader as to how the brite-white wall covering should be installed, but, Matthew's responded by immediately sending out a specialist to take care of the problem. Their workmanship on the brite-white wall covering was excellent as was the attention to detail on the cement work. Everything was cleaned up and done with a day early.

I had used this company before for steel piering with footer problems.I was now trying to sell the house and the new buyer wanted an OPINION as to if there were any water problems. I sought out help from this company repeated with phone calls - I thought they would have been more responsive. I spoke with John several times- told he would call back- never did. Told he was busy this week and would call me after Labor Day- he never did. I then moved onto another company who was very helpful- and determined I had no water problems and were paid for their services. Two weeks after the house was evaluated and about three days before the closing is when John finally called back! I never returned his call. He did call again the next day and again I ignored him I guess if you have a big enough job they would be interested- mine was not.

The company was on time, did an excellent job and finished in a timely manner.

They are very courteous. They are hard workers. They do a great job.

I would recommend Matthews Wall Anchor. After two years the pump broke and the warranty was good for one year. I called them and said this was an expensive job, the owner called me back and they came out replaced the pump at no charge and gave me a five year warranty. I will use them again because they did do right with the pump.

I would definitely tell a friend about them. The gentlemen was very knowledgeable, very polite, and very respectful. He would bond well with even older people and that is not always the case. He was on time when he said he was going to be here and he took the time to explain things. He put it in terms so that I could explain it to my husband. We are going to go ahead with the work.

We contacted Matthews Wall Anchor at the recommendation of a neighbor, who is an engineer. Matthews sent a representative (Damien) to our house the morning after I placed the call. Damien explained the process thoroughly (which was exactly as described on their website). As our neighbor predicted, we needed a total of 5 wall anchors. Our neighbor said it would probably cost about $5,000, so we were pleasantly surprised when the cost was quoted as $3,300. The work was completed in its entirety yesterday, which was only a little more than one week after Damien was here. I was amazed that the process took only about 5 hours, although the crew apologized that it took that long as they had a problem with a compressor which delayed things a bit. They dug 5 deep holes in the front yard, but were able to do this without impacting any shrubbery, planting beds, or trees. In the basement the 5 anchors (which are about 12 inches by 24 inches) were installed in the wall, with minimal dust or disruption. I have to commend the crew, as they needed to work around my husband's very large and elaborate model train layout. They were very careful to not disturb things to the extent possible. (When Damien came to the house he photographed the room, and the train layout, so thte crew knew about this obstacle.) The crew was pleasant, professional and polite and explainted everything. They even very cheerfully put up with our overly enthusiastic young dog. They did a very nice job cleaning up, especially in the front yard. Mu husband was amazed when he came home because they did such a good job replacing the dirt and sod it looked like no work had been done. The crew reviewed the 50-year transferable warranty with me and made sure I knew how to make any adjustments to the wall anchors, if needed. Matthews also takes care of having the utility companies come to your home before the work is done to make the location of their lines, and they knew that in our municipality (Fox Chapel) we did not need to get a permit for the work. The only reason for the "B" in "responsiveness" is a minor thing. I received a call from the office the week before the work was done confirming the date of the work. I was told that I would receive another call letting me know what time the crew would arrive; however, I did not get that second call and was caught off guard to see the crew in the driveway at 7:00 a.m. But that was a minor issue. All in all, we were very pleased with the entire process and would definitely recommend Matthews Wall Anchor.
