I called Haven Hardwoods on a Sunday morning. Andrew returned my call on Sunday evening. He showed up on time to survey the work. He emailed the estimated in a few days. We weren't ready to have the work done immediately, so he scheduled it about six weeks out. The workers showed up on time and completed the work in less than four hours. The quality of work was great and they cleaned up when they were done. I will definitely use Haven Hardwoods again.

Haven Hardwoods was recommended to me by a friend who had a positive experience with them. I was not disappointed. Andrew and his team were excellent. Andrew and his team were extremely responsive, efficient, friendly, and the finished product looked beautiful. They refinished hardwood floors, and triple sealed them, including treads on stairway. They got the job done quickly, and were a pleasure to work with. I would recommend them to anyone looking to install or refinish flooring. We could not be happier.

When I first contacted Haven Hardwoods, I spoke with Andrew's wife, who was very helpful and reassuring on the phone and said she'd have Andrew get back to me, which he did promptly later that evening. I then sent him some photos of the mess that was completely stuck to our oak floors beneath the carpet and padding that we had in our LR/DR, and he assured me that the removal of the old, sticky padding was no problem. This was after I talked to three other providers--one who never provided an estimate, one who wanted to charge an extra thousand dollars to remove the sticky padding on top of the regular refinishing costs, and one who took one look at the pics I sent and then said he didn't want the job. Andrew quoted me a very fair price, much better than other quotes I received from the previous contractors I spoke with, and we scheduled a date to begin (March 23). He went over with me how long the job would take and some other specifics, such as stain types and finishes. The morning of the 23rd, he and his crew showed up promptly at 8:00, just as he said they would, and he provided a detailed invoice to my husband outlining the price per square foot and other specifics of the job. By the time I got home from the work that day, the floors were sanded down to bare wood and they looked lovely, even with no finish, and had very few marks or stains. Also, the guys made sure that plastic sheeting was hung over the kitchen entrances and the stairs/hallway, so that no dust would get into other areas of the house. Over the next day and a half, Andrew and his crew applied the stain my husband and I chose and then applied the poly finish, and cleaned up all the dust and mess involved with the project. Our floors look absolutely gorgeous--honestly, Andrew made this whole process streamlined and pain-free, and he delivered everything exactly as promised when we initially spoke and scheduled the job--right down to the estimate that he gave me. Andrew responds in a timely manner to phone calls and emails, and he and his crew were punctual, professional, and delivered a fantastic finished product. We're so thrilled to finally be able to have the hardwood floors that were hiding under old carpets. Our whole second floor has hardwood under carpet as well, and when we decide to have the three bedrooms and hallway refinished, we won't need to vet a contractor because we've already decided that we'll be calling Haven Hardwoods.

Haven returned my phone call promptly. The crew were on time and immediately started to protect my carpet along the route that they had to walk to get to the bedroom. A1 job by Haven Hardwoods from start to finish. Showed up within one day of initial call to visit the house and provide a quote. The Haven Hardwood team was very clean and efficient and did a beautiful job on the floors. They successfully removed a few stains on the old floors and recommended a great stain color. The job was completed in approximately 4 days. I would recommend Haven Hardwoods to anyone looking to have existing hardwood floors refinished (which is what they did for me). It is very clear that they take great pride in their work.

They completed everything that was agreed to with one week. All of the individuals were very professional and we felt comfortable with them being in the house. They cleaned up every evening and we love our new entry and flooring. We would definitely use this service again. We were very pleased.

Rob did an excellent job! He refinished only the tops of the steps, and a landing, as I'm painting the risers myself. He also gave a quick sand and recoated the top part of the banister. Rob was excellent at explaining the options and making it clear what he was doing. He was on time both days and completed the work in a very reasonable amount of time, so that I could go up the staircase by the very end of the day. (the coats of stain had time to dry). I strongly recommend Haven Hardwoods and would certainly use them again.

We originally went with Haven based on strong Angie's List reviews and because they had eco friendly products. The price was a little better than another quote but we went with them based more on details noted above and the fact they are a small company, who seemed to take pride in their work. They showed up very promptly, the crew was friendly and professional, cleaned everything up and the finished product looks great! Many folks in the Pgh area go with another popular flooring person; I'm glad we explored other options to see what was out there as we won't have any plans to go elsewhere in the future. We had some minor water damage on some areas and lots of scratches and an area of deep gouges. It all cleaned up great! A minor correction was needed at the end of the job and Andrew and his team were on it immediately. He even allowed me to hit him up for advice on another staining project I was tackling on my own in the house! I commented to Andrew we've had minimal interactions with home improvement folks but from what we've experienced to this point, it seems that showing up, taking pride in your work and communicating efficiently and effectively with your customer are strangely more an exception than a rule. Andrew and his team do it right. If only all home improvement experiences could be this positive.

Spoke to Andrew. I have a historic 80 year old home with hardwood throughout. Unfortunately from a previous owner there were 4 scratches on the living room floor from furniture. The rest of the floor is in great condition. Andrew informed me his company would not fix small furniture scratches and would only refinish the entire floor. This is a large living room and the imperfections needing fix are small. Plus the floor is 80 yrs old. It's historic and has beautiful colors from it being old. You can't go to Home Depot or a flooring store and find floors like these. I do not want to lose the beauty of my floors when the imperfections are so small that I want fixed. I told him this. He went on to tell me that he understands where I am coming from but per his own standard the areas on the floor would not match. I told him that would be ok with me. The areas are small. A small difference would be no big deal. He Basically told me he would only fix small areas of imperfections if he personally laid down the hardwood. Well my floors are 80 yrs old. He never came to my home. Wanted to only know my room size then would email me a quote for refinishing the whole room. I wish he would have taken the time to make an appointment and see my floor. He did not want to stating he would just not refinish/fix a small area. Honestly. It felt like my job was probably to small and he had no interest. I told him I'd sign a contact stating I'd be ok with the small areas not matching (they really are small areas!) and he was just completely not interested. Only would redo the entire floor. I do not think what I am asking is unreasonable. To state this with never even seeing my floors. He told me he had 18 yr experience. I would imagine he when he does refinish floors there probably well done. I was just upset and not impressed with the lack of even trying to help me. Came off very one minded especially when I told him I am ok with the areas not matching perfectly.

I initially was hesitant to use Haven Hardwood because the company uses drum sander in addition to the had sanders. I had heard drum sanders improperly used could leave wavy lines and grooves in the floor. Then I found several other companies also used drum sanders and the problems mentioned would be more of a concern if someone inexperienced was using it. I decided to go with Haven Hardwood and they did a fantastic job. Andrew came out to give an estimate and quickly measured the job site. We discussed the differences between oil and water based finishes and potential color options. They sanded the entire area in two days and while it wasn't totally dustless, the dust wasn't as much as I would have thought because the machine captured a lot and the team used vacuums with the hand sanders. After sanding, he put samples of several stains on the sanded floor so we could see what they would actually look like. We decided to refine the selection to a darker tone and he placed four more samples on the floor for us to choose from. He and his crew were very diligent and cleaned up the area before leaving,. I was pleasantly surprised they were able to totally remove deep gouges put in the floor by the previous occupants and their dog. I would highly recommend using them and intend to use them again on another property.

We first met Andrew when he came to estimate the job. We liked his price and more importantly liked the fact that he has a good track record. When he gave us the estimate most of the carpet was not yet removed. I wish I could load pictures on here because he preformed a miracle. All of the rooms except the bedroom had severe pet and water stains. Once the carpet was up we were even contemplating not refinishing them because they were that bad. I had sent Andrew some pictures and he was not concerned which put us at ease. Most of the stains were sanded out to our amazement. The job was preformed over the course of three days. Each day Andrew and his crew showed up on time ad cleaned up after themselves. After they did their initial sand we met with Andrew to choose the stain. Even when we wanted to see several stains samples he did not hesitate and offered his opinion on the samples. We ended up choosing a stain that helped concealed some of the stains that didn't sand out. Andrew and his crew were constant professionals through and through. I cannot begin to offer enough praise. Their work really shows their dedication to their craft. I can without hesitation recommend Haven Hardwood to any one looking to have their hardwood floors refinished. In the future Haven Hardwood will be my fist and only call.

We worked with Andrew for an estimate--even though he operates out of Beaver Falls, he was very accommodating in setting up a time to visit. Although his estimate wasn't the cheapest (nor the most expensive), we went with him because of the reviews on Angie's List, the pictures on his website, and his great customer service. Haven Hardwoods did not disappoint. Andrew and a coworker were at our house for 4 days on the job, and they were hard and tireless workers-- we never noticed any loitering or excessive breaks. They were always on time (or early) each morning, and they could always be found working hard and doing a great job. We appreciated working with them and will definitely recommend them to others. Plus, the floors look amazing!!

Andrew from Haven Hardwoods was very prompt about returning my phone call when several of the other companies never called back. He gave me an approximate quote for the work required on our house. Came to look at the place and gave a couple suggestions for things to do. Was patient and helpful when selecting a stain color, especially in regards to selecting one to hide the animal urine stains from the previous owners. His team worked hard to finish the project in a timely manner. The floors turned out gorgeous and was better than I had expected. Extra bonus was the hardwood floors were finished with a satin, water-based product which allowed us to walk on them within 24 hours. Haven Hardwoods was the one of the best quotes we received and they did fantastic work! I would highly recommend them.

We are very pleased with the quality of work. Andrew was very prompt with my request for a quote and was easily the best price from the 6 quotes we received. Andrew is a very personable and professional man that knows what he is doing. He was able to come out early because of a delay in another job and get some prep work started. The job was two days of wood filling, sanding, & vacuuming and two days of sealing & drying. They used different types of Bona brand poly for each of the three layers. We were very impressed with the repair work that was done at the top of the stairs. Boards were removed and underneath was a 2x2 that sat on top of a steel beam. The 2x2 created a bump in the floor and the boards looked warped. The 2x2 was removed and the joists were bridged over top of the steel beam. Wood was removed from a closet floor (with my approval), and replaced the boards at the top of the steps. New wood was put down in the closet and if I didn't tell you it was new wood you wouldn't know. We moved in yesterday and the floors survived! Thanks Andrew & Mike! We are looking to do more work with them in the future and have recommeneded them to some coworkers.

Our contractor was great to work with, we were very impressed with their work ethic. They committed to a start date and began on that date. Through the entire project, they were on time everyday and cleaned up at the end of the day. They had good attention to detail and were willing to modify approach when based on our feedback. This was an enormous task overall and we are extremely pleased with the outcome! We highly recommend Haven Hardwood, and will use them again in the future.
