+ -1 moreThey company was a pleasure to work with. They were prompt with apointments and estimates. They were clear on what was provided in the estimate. They were punctual in getting the work started and completed in a timely manor. They did not leave any messes in our yard. The shingles and the ice guard for the roof was top quality material. Their pricing was very fair. I would definately use them again.
Description of Work: They removed old Shingles and put on a new roof including flashing. They caulked 2 windows and added water diverters to exsisting copper trim.

+ -1 moreThey like to do everything face to face, that was nice for my purposes. The quote process was a little slow. I received I think five quotes for that and they were by far the slowest. It took them about a week and a half to even get the quote back to me. There are parts that are good, they are very old school, they wrote everything down on paper and came back with a paper quote, but at the same time I received typed up detailed quotes from other contractors in e-mail fashion the next day. So, there was good and bad with it, but the biggest thing for me is they were very very expensive, compared they were by far the most expensive, which was kind of shocking given the fact that they were very old school in their approach up to that point. Overall, they were very professional.
Description of Work: I received a quote from Area Building & Remodeling for finishing a basement, but I ended up not hiring them. They were really pricey for what I was looking for.

+ -1 moreThe job Area Building & Remodeling did went very well. The salesman, who was the owner was very courteous. We enjoyed having him come and do the estimate. The roof looks good. We haven't been through the whole summer yet and the fall, to see how it goes, but so far, so good. It was covered by insurance because we had a hail storm. The workers that came were very courteous and seemed to know what they were doing. They accidentally damaged a screen in the house, but they promptly fixed it. That was good. They also cleaned up after themselves pretty good.
Description of Work: They re-did our roofing.

Description of Work: My mother is having her kitchen remodelled and my sister is paying for it . I called and talked to John a couple weeks ago and asked if he could meet with my sister mother and myself to plan what we can do and how much it is going to cost to do the remodelling . I setup today as the day we would meet . My sister also called a couple weeks ago to confirm and make sure he would be there . She came in from Chicago yesterday and he was supposed to meet with us at two this afternoon . At around 2:30 she called to find out where he was . John stated that he didn't know what she was talking about and that somebody must not of relayed the message to him . Since both she and I talked directly to him . I don't know who didn't relay the message . Don't waste your time with this company you will just be upset .

+ 3 moreThe removal of the air conditioner was more involved than expected but they tackled the task with professionalism and their know-how. Installing the window was pretty "cut-n dry". They made it look easy. Replacing the soffit & fascia went well after getting rid of some bees that were encountered. The crew found some "questionable" framing when the soffit was removed from the front porch and they expertly made repairs where needed. Another top notch job by them. They replaced the sectional gutters with one-piece gutters and replaced the old downspouts with new aluminum gutters. The entire job really spruced up the house. They do all phases of home repair and remodeling and I'll definitely be calling these guys again when I'm ready to have some more work done.
