There were two visits. The first was to treat a holly tree with scale. They sprayed neem oil; full results tbd, but it seemed as though there was less scale a few days later. 2nd job was tree trimming; this was a big job because we hadn't had it done for 2-3 years. The guys were really quick. They had to come through our center city row home to carry tree debris from the back yard to the front; they were super-careful about minimizing mess and damage. Also, they were good about wearing masks to protect against the corona virus. Note: we've used this company for 8 years.

There were some branches that weren't cut back as far as we wanted them too. But they are coming back. They were very good when we called them and there's no problem whatsoever. On price, they were significantly cheaper than some of the others. They have a good reputation.

Poorly. There was a clear communication issue between the team manager and the guys who do the work. I had to call them out 3 times to get the job done correctly. Additionally, despite exorbitant costs (about double the competition), the tree they were trying to save for me actually seemed to do worse after they started caring for it. That didn't stop them from leaving me a quote the following year to remove the tree, again for double the cost of the competitors. I used them because a family member had said they had a prior good experience with them, though that same family member hired them again this year and had an experience similar to mine - crew didn't know what the plan was, did incomplete work, and took several tries to get it right. I don't see any reason to use them. They are truly overpriced and the quality of work is below expected.

The workers were professional and punctual, but unfortunately had to return several times to get the job done correctly despite very clear instructions about my request. I didn't get multiple quotes, which I regret, because one of the trees I had work done on subsequently died and I had to get it removed. at that point I did get multiple quotes and learned that Bartlett was literally twice as expensive as essentially everyone else. that was particularly unsettling given how much they had already charged me for work done on the very tree that had died.

It's an ongoing type thing that they treat different things at different times according to needs of the season. They are very expensive.

They were very good and professional. Also very reasonably priced. Extremely nice! Whatever we wanted, they accommodated us for it.

Tom came out when he said and gave me a very fair quote. They promised to have the work done by the end of the week. Though there was a truck issue and the date was moved, from one to another, they were responsive and shared the issue. I also want to add they did get the limbs down before the end of the week as promised. They were great, professional and helped me move some debris too when onsite. I would definitely recommend and use them again if needed.

Mark Shaw came out a few weeks before the workers came so he could view the work we wanted done. He is exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and professional. All the members of the Bala Cynwyd office of Bartlett's did a fine job on our bushes, trees and shrubs. Anna quickly answered our questions about process and scheduling. The on-site workers were just terrific! Communication was clear and helpful (such as the height of the trimming or how long before new growth starts).We especially appreciate the suggestions regarding the problem at the base of our spruce tree. Clean up was smooth, and neighbors admired the changes (always a pleasant surprise). Mark Shaw identified a major problem with the 25 year old Linden tree planted by the Township on our property. By law, we cannot pay to fix the problem. but if it splits in the future, it will either fall on our house or neighbors' cars. He went out of his way after finishing the work at our house to contact the correct officials so the Township will come out when they finish dealing with the worse of the storm damaged tress (counting in the high hundreds). We deeply appreciate his help on this, and will definitely be calling him and Bartlett's in the future.

I thought he was great but I think the cost is a lot. I understand the problem is that you can't just come and put your ladder up. They usually build a scaffold and cut if the tree is tall. They couldn't do that here. They had to bring all kinds of ladders, they had a very tight space. So I understand why its a lot but its a lot. Its just more money when you're in the city. That's the way it is. I had a second estimate and it was the same. He came with a team of people. The supervisor was there making sure everybody knew exactly what they were doing and how they were doing it. He sends emails to let you know its time to trim your tree. I like the way he runs the business: very professional and available.

Went well. They did a nice job and cleaned up well. Came back out for some areas I thought they missed. Their arborist is knowledgable but not pushy. They are probably a bit on the pricey side but I justify it by knowing that what they are doing is in the health of the tree.

The work has always turned out fine. They are very reliable.

Scheduling was fine. They did a great job. The work took about 2 to 3 hours. They cleaned up very well.

The work has been excellent and we have used them for quite a while. The primary work they have done is taking care of trees that have been hit with disease and parasites. They have kept them alive and healthy for years. They have trimmed the trees and they even put a lightning rod on the top of one of the trees. They are very responsive. Most recently the representative we work with, John Studdy, stopped by to check the trees and left us a note telling us everything was doing ok!

I have used Bartlett for many years. Their services are myriad and on site are excellent. This work was to remove a 35 ft. southern redbud tree from a very small city yard. There was nq access to the area other than through my house. However, we had permission to access my yard through my neighbor's. It was a full day's work to take th is tree down and it was performed without incident and with the utmost care for my neighbor's property. When they left no one would have an inkling that such a large tree had been removed so efficiently. Both yards were left clean, neat and undamaged. Kudos to Bartlett. An excellent provider.

Second time John Studdy and crew have come to tend to our city garden/deep brick courtyard. They cut back limbs to open up more light and hopefully eliminate moss growing.

Work was done on time and up to my expectations. The folks working on the tree were polite and careful not to allow tree limbs to damage the fencing surrounding the tree.

A representative from Bartlett Tree Experts came to my home to assess the dead trees on 8/7/13. The first tree (about 30 feet tall) was resting against a neighbor's garage. The trunk of the tree had disintegrated and the tree looked like it could collapse at any moment. The second tree (about 20 feet tall) was in better condition, standing on its own, but completely dead. Bartlett's representative gave me his card, which included his email address. I was anxious to have the work done because of the precarious state of the tree and pressure from my neighbor, so when I had not received the price quote in a couple of days, I sent the representative an email via my personal email account, requesting the price quote. I never received a reply. I followed-up with a message through Angie's List on August 12th, and I did not receive a reply to that message either. In the end, I never received the quote. My experience with Bartlett was frustrating. I needed the work done as soon as possible because the dead tree was in danger of falling and injuring someone and damaging my neighbors' garage and car. Bartlett's failure to follow-up caused me to delay scheduling the job. In the future, I would not bother to call Bartlett Tree Experts and allow them to waste my time again.

All work done well and as scheduled. They cleaned every thing up when finished.

I was happy with the services. They are more expensive, but the service is quality is great.

They have been around for over a hundred years. I saw them after the hurricane Sandy. A tree fell down. They did everything right. The only thing I didn't like was the price. But, they are always expensive. Fortunately, my Son's insurance reimbursed us. They were very good. After the storm, they got the tree taken care of in three days.

Overall, the workers did a very good job. Besides the scheduling differences, when the crew showed up they listened to exactly what the customer's concerns and preferences were and delivered on them efficiently and with competence. Pricey, but definitely would go to them for serious jobs like dealing with large trees.

They came on time and trimmed the tree very well. They were supposed to remove a tree stump but they did not.

They came as scheduled, promptly, did the work well and finished up after a thorough clean up effort. They were helpful in explaining what they were doing and why. They helped train one staff member regarding girdling roots, so that we can fix some of those problems without calling them.

They cleaned up the site well and the tree was properly done. They were efficient. They did the job well.
