I have a large beautiful property in the heart of Fox Chapel that requires expert landscaping work to be done 8 months out of the year. I have always used Professional landscapers that work primarily in the Fox Chapel Area and due to my frustration with their incompetence and their considerable over-charging, I decided to try Diversified Landscaping when they were just an upstart company. Shawn, the owner, was "hands-on" the entire time with his crew in setting up the plans and the development of the landscaping for my home and did much of the work himself. He also personally oversaw all the other aspects of the work so that it was done to perfection. The company did much more than was expected, e.g. they often would clean up debris from my yard that had been left by other contracting crews after they left their jobs and there was scattered material on the lawn. Furthermore, they did not leave jobs to be done by "hired help" that should have been done only by a qualified professionals, (e.g. my other expensive landscapers would hire high school students to administer "Spray Treatments" at $250 a Spray and I would see them spraying "Weed Killer" on Flowers and missing the Weeds entirely!) The only job that Shawn ever allowed "hired help" to do, and that was after years of doing it himself, was to cut the grass. Shawn was easily accessible by phone any time I had a question or wanted to discuss a new plan or job for my property. Finally I cannot fail to mention that because of Shawn's Major in This Field at Penn State University, he diagnosed a malignant condition of my trees that had been missed by two previous Major Landscaping Professional Services in this area that I had used for many years previously! Shawn subsequently called in a Tree Expert who ran several tests on the trees and diagnosed the exact condition and recommended treatment. The Arbor Specialist told me that if this condition had been left untreated much longer, I would have lost all my trees that surround my house, some of which are at least a hundred years old! Fortunately I was able to institute treatment in time to save them, thanks to Shawn. If the Price I quoted above, seems high, this was what I was paying previously but for far less work and for a much inferior product. Also, the reader must understand the magnitude of work my property entails and that this price is definitely reflective of the work that was done. Unfortunately, Diversified could not continue working for me after 4 years for several reasons, part of which I believe was the extreme distance they had to travel to do my property, which I realized was a major hardship for them. My final comment is that anyone who can contract with "Diversified Landscaping" to do any or all of their landscaping needs would be most fortunate indeed.

Shane provides a list of all services he offers and the prices for your home. We used this company to cut our grass, to edge our beds, and for weed control. Shane's workers arrive promptly on the same day of the week and expertly mow and edge our beds. They take the time to remove any toys or furniture left on the grass. They REMOVE the grass from our yard and blow our sidewalks clean and blow leaves into the forest. I like the fact that they take the excess grass with them versus leaving it on our yard. We live on a very hilly property and they do a great job with mowing it. They do not burn holes into the yard when turning their mowers on the grass which I appreciate. They are not the cheapest lawn mower company that we've used, but they are the best. I know what the yard will look like every time they mow. No surprises!
