WAGNER'S LANDSCAPING

We had Mark come out once 5+ years ago for landscape design and this time for hardscaping and landscaping. In both instances, he was quick to respond, professional, organized, personable, and trustworthy. He brought catalogs for products and a binder with pictures to help facilitate discussion. He listened to our needs, asked relevant questions, and provided recommendations based on his experience. With regards to pricing estimates, he was able to provide during the consultation and expressed confidence in his estimates based on past experience. While Mark listened to our ideas, he did have definite opinions (e.g. pavers vs. stamped concrete) which he put forward with a level of "he knows best." I appreciate his expertise yet this may steer us away from working with him if we select a product that doesn't match his opinion. Additionally, I have mixed feelings about getting a quick design & estimate versus taking his time to think about the best design. The approach of a quick design & estimate is likely most effective for his time and willingness to provide free estimates. However, his initial design didn't excite us and may be another thing that would make us choose another company; that said, I expect he would iterate designs if selected.

They did not come out to do the work. They came fairly quickly to give the estimate. Their communication at that time is very good. Once they have your deposit, there is no communication. Very long delays before they get to the work, and they are very deceptive in email and phone conversations. They will contradict themselves in those conversations.

AFTER TEN MONTHS OF PROMISING TO FINISH THE JOB, HE HAS STILL NOT DONE SO. HE SUBBED OUT THE ELECTRICAL WORK TO AN INCOMPETENT ELECTRICIAN. I FINALLY PAID ANOTHER ELECTRICIAN TO FINISH THE WORK. AT LEAST 30% OF THE PLANTINGS HAVE DIED AND NOT BEEN REPLACED, AS PROMISED. IN ADDITION, THE LADDER INTO THE POOL WAS REMOVED BUT NOT REPLACED. THE NEW LADDER IS STILL SITTING ON THE SIDE OF THE POOL WAITING TO BE INSTALLED. THE FINAL INSULT IS THAT WE HAVE JUST MOVED FROM THIS HOUSE. MARK PROMISED TO HAVE ALL WORK COMPLETED BEFORE OUR CLOSING. IT WASN'T. OUR REALTOR EVEN CALLED HIM TO COMPLAIN. HE LIED TO HER AS WELL AND TOLD HER ALL WORK WOULD BE COMPLETED BY CLOSING. IT JUST ISN'T WORTH THE AGGRAVATION TO WORK WITH HIM.
