Description of Work: When we moved into a single home we wanted to get a home security system. We first looked into ADT and actually hired them to put in the system and monitor our home, but we had a ton of problems with them and cancelled within three days. So we went for a lesser known company hoping to avoid being treated as dollar signs. At first Delco Alarms seemed great- they returned my inquiry phone call immediately, set up a date within a week to install the system and had it done it a few hours. They seemed knowledgeable and very quick to get the job done. In the next few weeks, however, we saw a different side to them. We were having a problem with one of the alarms continually beeping when we set it, which caused a problem when one of us went to bed earlier than the other. The piercing 30 second alarm warning would wake the other up. We spent the next seven weeks trying to get in touch with them to fix the problem. We could call, leave a message and would not receive a call back for days. Usually we ended up having to call again and again and pestering until they would return the call. They would say they tried to call, but we never had a message and never saw the number on caller ID. They would try "remotely" to fix the problem, which didn't work and denied my request for them to come out for the service. They kept having me try a variety of things to fix it. One day, they were working remotely, which meant they would call my house, tell me not to pick up so they could access the system, and then they'd call back in about 30 minutes to ask me to try it and see if it worked properly. This exchange took several hours, and I couldn't leave the house during this time. At one point, I was waiting for the follow up call, had waited about an hour, then called them back to see what I should do next only to find that they left for the day. Finally, something they did worked, and the system is working now, but I felt incredibly disrespected as a customer. It was like they worked really hard to get into the house and get the system installed, then once they got their money and the contract signed, we were shoved aside. I ended up feeling the same as I did with ADT, frustrated and disrespected. I don't think we will renew our contract.
