Description of Work: Replaced a disfunctional and leaking A/C system installed by a different provider about 6 years earlier, who went out of business. Although Lowry did install the correct system, solved the drain issue, and we are pleased with how it now operates, there are several negatives to watch out for. They are very expensive, have limited brand offering, and I felt taken advantage of because I am not knowledgeable on A/C technology or pricing. I chose them last summer, not through Angie's list, but very concerned that I was overcharged. The only plus is that the new system is operating very well. If I had Angie's List I would have compared several recommended providers first, perhaps had a wider choice of systems, and probably could have spent less.

I am the wrong company. I did not provide any service to this homeowner. I suspect you mean "Lowry Services". Please retract this review at your earliest opportunity. Thanks

See above. Eric Lowry first came to our house and went through it from top to bottom, taking measurements asking questions about what our goals were, what our limitations were - to best gauge our intentions and, presumably, how he would best perform his energy audit. He followed up a few days later with the real visit. During the visit he explained what he was doing and why. He pointed out things we could do, products we could install, people we should contact for further information/services. He was friendly, well informed, very professional, prompt, thoughtful - everything you would hope to have in a person coming to your house. He followed up promptly with a well documented, well researched report. When we followed up with more questions, he continued to provide information. We found his price very reasonable and well worth paying for the service we got. We would recommend him to anyone.
Description of Work: Eric Lowry was recommended to us by a friend who had worked with him and knew him to be excellent. Eric came to our house to do an energy audit. He was prompt, professional, answered all of our questions and followed up with supplementary information after he had left. He gave us advice on what we could do ourselves, what we should contract out, suggested products that would be best for the desired purpose, gave us names of contacts to follow up for additional advice. His energy audit visit was preceded by an earlier visit to our house to answer questions about the process. We were very happy with his report , we think he's a really nice person to work with and have recommended him to our friends.

The audit went well. Eric was very professional and personable. The report has given us direction and prioritized our improvements. There were two or three errors in the report regarding our equipment (ex. electric water heater vs gas water heater). Eric quickly corrected the report.
Description of Work: Home energy audit performed. The audit took approximately 3 hours. The audit report was emailed to us within a week of completion. The report detailed energy issues and recommendations to correct the problems. The report also included web sites for more information about the individual issues. Also, each issue had the recommendation to do-it-yourself or hire a professional. Eric listed the recommendations in order of most energy savings. Eric was unable to use the infrared camera because the indoor and outdoor temperatures were very similar.

Eric was very thorough, great communication from the initial contact through the scheduling and actual audit process. He and his intern were very punctual and professional. Eric did an excellent job of providing a whole wealth of information. We were especially appreciative of the fact that he did not have any incentive to sell us unnecessary services or products: he was just giving us the facts about the energy efficiency of our home. For the price of the procedure, this audit was money well spent. Also, since we have started pricing out the actual work, several contractors have had nothing but good things to say about Eric Lowry.
Description of Work: Scope of Services I will perform an energy audit in conformance with the Building Performance Institute (BPI) Technical Standards for the Building Analyst Professional and will include the following: • Blower door test; • Heater and water heater (combustion appliance) testing (where necessary); • Carbon monoxide levels; • Visible and infrared photography; • Insulation amounts and quality of installation; • Air sealing observations; • General observations. Based on the results of the energy audit, I will prepare a report to document my findings and present recommendations and improvement cost opinions for your consideration. The report will be provided in a PDF format typically within 3 to 5 business days after the energy audit.
