+ 1 moreThis review is not about the quality of the cabinetry, but the quality of service during the design and sale of the cabinetry. The cabinetry was made by a separate company and installed by a separate contractor. I had similar experience with others who gave an F rating and far more! I had the kitchen done over 2 years ago and did not think it was necessary to write a review until now. I am now working as an architect and my clients around the area had asked me about using this company and I am compelled to write a review to warn them and others. There were so many things that had gone wrong that it will take pages to write all of it, so I will not get into all the details. First, their customer service is terrible. When the owner of the company Haim is not in the office, I couldn't get any information such as pricing, timing, or design. This happened very often during our project because he was overseas several times. This also set the project back several weeks out of time. There were problems and discrepancy with the design and it was extremely difficult to try and resolve them. Some of the issues we had did not resolve and I am force to live with it. We also had to endure couple of shouting arguments and if you are not comfortable with confrontation, this is not the company you should work with. Take note the kitchen technology's response to all the negative comments on this website. Many other companies offer apologies and ideas on how to improve their business, but Kitchen Technology's approach seem very confrontational about the negative reviews and people who left them. However I am very pleased with the quality of the custom cabinetry (Kountry Kraft) and now I am working directly with the cabinetry makers and their in house designers. The quality of service Kountry Kraft provided us so far has been amazing!

+ -1 moreI made an appointment for someone to come to my home and give me an estimate. He never showed up, so I called. They apologized and said he would be over later (already over an hour late). After doing the estimate I paid him ($50-), and got an e mail about a week later. I thought it was too high, so I thanked them and said I was getting another estimate. They wrote back with an estimate about $2000 lower.

+ 1 moreWe were very happy with all aspects of our total kitchen renovation. It was well planned and well executed start to finish. The design was masterful. Communication throughout the process was good. Haim and Colleen worked closely with us to design the ideal custom kitchen for us. Everything was very well planned—layout, flooring, lighting, electrical, plumbing, cabinet style and placement, drawer and shelf options, the island, counters, switch and outlet placement. Haim held himself and his team to the highest of standards for execution. We were very impressed with the entire team at Kitchen Technology. All of Kitchen Technology’s tradesmen were great, but their carpenter is a true craftsman. Perhaps most critical of all, we appreciated Haim’s strong attention to detail. Nothing escaped him, no matter how little. We felt he was building our kitchen the way he would his own. Haim was closely involved at every phase. We give the entire team very high marks and highly recommend them. We will use Kitchen Technology again in the future for other renovation projects.

+ -1 moreWe used Kitchen Technology because they are very good at what they do. The first time we hired them was when we bought our first home in 1994. The job was done flawlessly. We loved our kitchen, and anyone who visited our home loved it. We bought our current home, a larger, older house in 2005, with a very old kitchen. Needless to say, we did not have to shop around for a kitchen design company. Kitchen Technology crew gutted out the old kitchen down to bare walls, floor and a ceiling. Haim designed the new layout and of course helped us to choose cabinets, tiles, granite top and everything else. Within a few weeks, KT created a magnificent kitchen for our charming old house. I recommend KT for the experience and expertise, integrity, punctuality, sense of responsibility and friendliness.

+ -1 moreThe cabinets were fine and delivered in good time. However, one extra cabinet was ordered instead of a shelf without consulting me. I agreed to take it and see if it would work and was promised that the price would be refunded if not. We discovered at the end of installing the cabinets that the toe kick had been under ordered by an entire 8' piece. I had planned to place one more small order once we installed the cabinets because it was hard to tell measurements. When I went to order the final pieces and the missing toe kick, I also wanted to return the cabinet I had not ordered (I had not even opened the carton). Haim tried to charge me a 25% restocking fee on the cabinet that I had not ordered. Colleen called him while I was standing in the store and he refused to speak to me about it. I left a check for a deposit on my order but refused to sign the order until I spoke to Haim. Colleen later emailed me that he would call on Monday. About a week to ten days later, I received an envelope in the mail from Haim with a check for the full cost of the cabinet and my deposit check. No phone call. No email. No letter enclosed. Needless to say since Haim refused to place my order, I have had to order the remaining pieces for my kitchen from somewhere else and it's just as well because Haim has to be the nastiest, most unprofessional person I have ever tried to work with. Colleen is lovely and I hope she finds a better job. I felt very badly for her stuck in the middle of this stupidity. I suppose if you want to turn your project over to Haim and let him call all the shots, you may be pleased. However, if you are looking for an honest, professional partner in creating your project, go somewhere else!
Description of Work: I met with Colleen to price Marsh cabinets and ultimately ordered cabinets from Kitchen Technology to install ourselves.

I didn't feel that there was a good connection between me and the designer, so I did not pay for him to take measurements and make drawings. He was very professional, just not a good fit for me. Would still recommend that others consult with this company, could be a good fit for them. The office was very responsive, and very clear about what would happen with the home visit.

+ 1 moreIt took approximately a year to select a designer. Haim Baron of Kitchen Technology was the first person we contacted. At the time we thought we couldn't afford his design services so we looked at IKEA and a couple of other firms. IKEA was too much "do it yourself" and we didn't like the designs provided by the other companies. We returned to Kitchen Technology and didn't look back. Haim Baron's architectural skills -- skills that most kitchen design outfits do not possess - showed through with his design (not just the cabinets but the whole space). He converted a dingy, closed, 1970's era kitchen to a bright, open, modern space that not only improved the value of our house but has also improved the quality of our life. Kitchen Technology was not cheap but one thing we learned during this long experience is that you get what you pay for. Haim Baron and is team were skilled, patient, and responsive.
Description of Work: Complete redesign of kitchen space; provided architectural drawings; ordered stock cabinets, ceramic tiles for back splash; and granite counter tops; provided overall design consultations. We particularly like the simple geometric back splash design created by Haim Baron as a focal point above the range. We did not use Kitchen Technology as our contractor. The fee paid to Kitchen Technology represented approximately 25% of the total cost of the renovation.

When we decided to renovate our kitchen in Ardmore, PA, I immediately contacted Haim for input on the design and selection of the cabinetry. It was all delivered on-time and in perfect condition, except for some of the glass panelled doors that Haim immediately corrected. I wouldn't hesitate to use myself or make referals to Kitchen Technology in the future.If you wish, I can forward pictures of "before" and "after"...we were totally satisfied with the results, and would recommend Kitchen Technology to anyone, including our new friends and neighbors here in Washington State! + 0 moreHaim ( owner ) is misleading and can not be trusted. Unprofessional and not transparent. He did not disclose his fees and then kept a deposit we gave him that was to go toward a cabinet order. He claimed the deposit for cabinet order was going to be used toward the designs once we conclued the cost of the cabinets was much to high. He never told us that when we gave him the check for the deposit on cabinets. We were very happy working with him ( as you can see from the emails he posted ) until we found out he was going to charge us $13K for cabinets ( small kitchen ) that I was able to get for under $7K from another reputable vendor ( I had done other kitchen remodels so I was familiar with price of Marsh cabinets ) We were asked to give a $2000 check when we asked for the designs he worked on to show our contracter. We were told the $2000 would be deducted from cabinet order ( FYI: upon measuring he stated that his charge of $200 was to measure and work on design ) Once he knew we were not going to order the cabinets from him, we were told the $2000 check we gave him was for the price of the design ( which he never told us what the fee was or ever directed us to a website to view any fees ) Ironically the fee was the same amount that I made a check out for the cabinets we never ordered! It should also be noted when I called him to question such a HIGH price for a design....he said he does not work for free and he could charge as much as he wanted because he has customers that are willing to pay him what he charges and hung up on me!
Description of Work: I went to Kitchen Technology to order cabinets for a kitchen remodel. I already had a design and measurement but Haim ( the owner ) said he could not order cabinets until he measured the space himself and would also give me design ideas. Made appt and went to house. Haim looked around and said he had some nice ideas and needed to measure. Then told me it would cost $300 if I wanted him to measure and design. He did not mention this before! We agreed on $200 cash,( because we had not moved in yet and did not have a cc on us of check ) We met 2 times at his office to talk about design idea. On the second visit I wanted to take the designs to my contractor so Haim said he needed a $2000 deposit that would be put towards the kitchen cabinets. We asked for price on cabinets and he said he needed to work on the price. He did not get back to me with price on cabinets unitl 10 days later ( when check cleared ). The price for the cabinets came back at over $13,000.00. ( 16 cabinets - no install! ) Fortunately, I was familiar with Marsh Cabinets and knew that was too high. I also went to Home Depot to compare and got a price of $6054.00. I called Haim to ask for my deposit back because the price of cabinets were too high and he said I could order cabinets elsewhere but the $2000 was for the design plans. I asked around and found a kitchen design can often run between $250 and $1000 at the very high end. Haim refused to give me my deposit for cabinets back and sent me an invoice 1 week later for design plans. THE EMAILS HAIM POSTED FROM ME in his reponse to this report are from when we first started to work together and I trusted him. MY HUSBAND ASKED HIM TWICE WHAT THE CHECK WAS FOR AND HE STATED " IT WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM YOUR CABINET DEPOSIT" HE NEVER TOLD US A PRICE FOR THE DESIGN OR DIRECT US TO HIS WEBSITE ABOUT HIS FEES. HAIM IS RIGHT HE CAN CHARGE WHATEVER HE WANTS FOR A DESIGN ( up to $2500 ) BUT HE NEVER DISCLOSED ANY FEES TO US or MAKE US AWARE OF ANY FEES. FYI: we had another disign done by another company for an entire kitchen addition and bedrooma addtiona and it cost us $1000 which was clearly stated.
