Costello's Electrical Service

I contacted Costello's through their website contact form and Kevin got back to me in a couple hours! This is terrific turn-around for a phone call, let alone a website contact form communication! That was a good sign to me. Kevin called me back and tried to walk me through the fix for my clothes dryer myself, but since I was uncomfortable performing the fix myself, I asked if this is something he could do, which it was. We scheduled for a couple days later, which was an acceptable time frame in my eyes. His time frame for arrival was very punctual and he came in, saw the issue and immediately knew what to do. The fix was completed quickly and when I told him my stacked washer and dryer was shaking when the washer was on the spin cycle, he leveled out my stacked washer/dryer as well and then showed me exactly how to perform both repairs if I needed to do them again in the future! Incredibly nice guy with great know-how and very professional and personable. I have put Costello's in my address book for any future needs and will be passing their name to my friends and family as a highly suggested company to work with.

Like I said above, I called and he came out twice. I've been waiting for months and I've called many times. I would get an answering machine and leave a message but I have never gotten a call back. Just this past week, I called again and got a woman who answered the phone. After I told her I was calling to see if my parts were in and that I had been calling for a couple of months or so, she promised that Kevin would return my call at the end of the day. No surprise that I did not get a call from anyone at Conklins. I am not usually one to give a bad review, but enough is enough. My dishwasher is still not properly installed and I must now find another company. I would excuse this company from this poor business practice if they would only return my call and set up an appointment to finish this job and I would retract this negative report by saying that Conklins did follow through.

The contractor arrived on time and was very friendly. he inspected it and determined it was beyond repair. Knowing I would need to purchase a new dryer and install it in a different location then the current one, he recommended a reliable brand, and inspected the new area where the new dryer would be installed.

I received a phone call back within minutes of my leaving a message. Kevin came in 2-3 days and fixed the problem. He was very polite and professional. And the price was what he estimated on the phone. I would definitely call this company again.

Overall, it took a while -- simply because, as you will remember, we had a few snowflakes around here, and a LOT of things just stopped happening. Once we crossed THAT bridge, however, and set a date and time, things went swimmingly. Costello arrived smack in the middle of his arrival window, went immediately to work, and was finished within the hour, leaving the place un-littered and quite clean. VERY BUSINESSLIKE. It should be added that our washer is something of a "sport": it's a large-capacity machine that will fit into a small space. Such animals are hard to find -- and may not in fact be made any longer. Which is the likely reason for Costello to have had to search far and wide for the necessary parts. It's not a young washer. Who knows how long it will last? But so far, we are delighted with Costello.

I called them and they came out within two days. They were very prompt. It wasn't a big problem it was something really minor. He also recommended that I have some other work done which I haven't done yet, but it was a good advice

While cooking one night, our oven shorted out. We checked on Angie's List and found Costello's was rated well and located near our home in Ardmore. They were pleasant on the initial phone call and said they could stop by the house in a few days. We were fortunate that my wife has the option to work from home once each week because Costello's only had appointments during the middle of the day for the upcoming week. The repairman was very pleasant and spent only a couple minutes looking at the oven during his initial visit. He immediately pinpointed the suspected problem. In retrospect, we should have asked him to do a thorough check because he missed the biggest issue on his first visit due to a hasty inspection. That cost us an extra week without an operating oven. He caught his oversight when he came back a week later with the part. The oven works great and were fortunate that we didn't need the oven during the extra week waiting for the additional part. We didn't pay anymore than the initial quote, which I appreciate and reflects good business practice.

Since it was a small job I had to wait a little while for an appointment. Once they got to my house they were very prompt and professional. They ordered the replacement piece beforehand and it took a while to come in. I feel that his prices were right on target.

Overall, this process went very well. However, there was a delay while a part was ordered. We were concerned when Costello's did not contact us after a week-and then after several more days. We had to place two or three phone calls to Costello's before we got a response. Once they explained, though, we understood the reason for the delay, and the final repair was scheduled shortly thereafter. We still haven't received a bill, but the original estimate was about $300(this included the cost of a part that is no longer available).

Repair service does not sell appliances, yet recommended that I buy a new machine, given the cost level of the repair and the age of my washing machine. I was impressed that they would pass up such a large service fee to volunteer this suggestion. Also, incredibly prompt service and responsiveness over this 2-day repair event.

It went great. They responded quickly, were here within a day or two. Kevin was professional and courteous and got the job done.

Costello's arrived promptly and quickly evaluated the washer. He thought he knew the problem and went to work on replacing a part. This turned out not to be the problem. He explained that it was not cost effective to repair the washing machine and only charged for a service visit.

This was the first time we have used their services. It went terrific. They were on time, efficient, and completely explained what they would do before they did it.

I called the office on a Saturday afternoon. The office was closed, but I left a detailed message on the answering machine. On Monday, I had a message on my machine from Kevin with his info and a call back number. I immediately called. Kevin was polite and we scheduled a time later in the week that fit with my work schedule. On the appointed day, Kevin arrived in the time frame he specified. He wiped his feet (without being asked) before coming in the house. He went to work diagnosing my dryer's ills. The belt was fine, but the bearing was shot. Thus the loud noise. Also the felt and Teflon seal was shot. This was what was leaving the marks on my clean clothes. Once he determined the issues, he was very up front with the cost and suggested that we might want to consider replacing the dryer. Since we had so much trouble getting the dryer into the house, we decided to go ahead with the repair. Kevin had the parts, went to work and cleaned up after he was done.

He was on time, quick and to the point. Dryer was repaired in about 30-45 minutes.

They came right out. They were not overly expensive and did a good job. He was very knowledgeable and honest. He did not rip me off and I was very happy with the entire service.

NONE. Came out (promptly) and did a very quick check of three appliances. Left abruptly and stated they needed to order parts for repair. Stated it should only be a couple of days and they would call. About 5 days later, we called them and left a message asking about the status. No response or communication from them in over 2 weeks.
