GPG CONSTRUCTION

I did not choose him because he is not doing the work full time anymore, he only does it parttime on the side and at night time. It was not the time frame that I wanted him in the house. I originally called him because he had a good review on Angie's List.

We had 30+year old pre-cast concrete stairs at the rear entrance to our house that were in bad shape and needed to be taken out and replaced I also had another porch with some floor boards that were rotten, the foundation needed some repair and I needed an electrical plug put in high on a wall for a flat screen TV. I contacted GPG Construction. This is the second time I used this company and because I had a great experience the first time, I called again. George came out to give me an estimate the day after I called him and we agreed on the price and the scope of the work. He arrived a little later than I expected, but he explained that he was picking up the materials needed for the work. He and another gentleman went right to work busting out the concrete stairs and hauled off the pieces. On the first day they also poured a concrete footer for the new stairs and repaired the foundation wall and painted the repaired area with water proofing paint. The next day they returned and built the stairs, added the electrical plug and removed the floor boards on the other porch. The third morning, George came back and finished the floor repair and some other details on the new stairs. While repairing the floor boards, George showed me the joists under the floor were also rotting and should be replaced. This would be a major job that I didn't want to do at the time, and asked George if we could get away with just replacing the floor boards. He said yes, but that I should plan on replacing that porch in 2-3 years. He also had to install some additional bracing under these boards to make the repair solid. All in all, GPG did what they said they would do, pointed out additional work that needed to be done with out pushing me to do it right away, and did the job in a timely fashion. I'll definitely use him again.

I am refurbishing my mothers old house which had an old metal shower stall in one of the bathrooms. I purchased a new shower that would fit the location, and then realized that I really didn't want to fool around with drains & pipes because there was so much more I had to get done and a limited time to do it. I called four plumbers and left messages as to what I needed to get done, but none of them returned my calls. A few days later, I found the business card for GPG Construction on a bulletin board at a local grocery store and called them. His son answered and said that George was on vacation, but he would call. George returned my call the same day while he was driving back from vacation and came up the next day (which I think was a Thursday or Friday) to give me an estimate. We agreed on the price and that he would do the job on Tuesday. I told him that I needed to know when he would do the job, because I wanted to paint the bathroom and put down new vinyl flooring which required that I remove the old shower first. True to his word, on Tuesday morning he came back and moved the drain and the water pipes and assembled and installed the shower. I think he was done by 4:00 PM. The shower looks great and George did a good job. If you are looking for someone that responds and does good work, I recommend you call George.
