Dave appears to be a kind and warm person who in the beginning is passionate about your project, establishing a good relationship with you the client, and making a solid first impression. Past that you will be in for an overpriced, unresponsive, inept, seemingly beginner designer. Basic issues arise out of the project that would make the casual observer wonder if this is his first project. He will overpromise and under deliver, but most importantly he will suggest and sell you on a product that is subpar yet package it as luxury when it is not. With basic consistent communication off the table, you will be driven mad. We made the mistake of executing final payment before the project was complete and we have been dealing with challenges and slow responses for over a year now. There are many high end designers out there so do not make the same mistake we made by not hiring somebody who has finished a project and has satisfied the customer who is referring them to you. We brought in other high end designers for quotes and were consistently told we overpaid. Worst of all the time and headache of dealing with the Stimmel Design is something we can never get back. Dealing with contractors by nature is challenging but this is a new low. I wouldn't wish this situation on anyone. Stay Away.

Began the process and payments in June 2017. Began construction in October 2018 90% bill paid in full as soon as their final estimates were given. He does not communicate with his subcontractors. The main subcontractor stepped up and took the lead and did a phenomenal job. Unfortunately he was not involved in all aspects of the project. You have to call Dave he does not call you. For months my living room sat not completed. Finally I reached out to Dave in April 2019, angry and complaining that the job was still not complete and that he has been a ghost for almost the entirety of the process he blamed it on the subcontractor and said he did not understand how this was his fault. Dave does wonderful designs but is a terrible manager. He has virtually no communication with you after he is finished with his designs. He is expensive but the work is excellent. I would suggest you to be in top of him from the beginning of you choose to use him. It’s not worth the headache for me. It’s is almost May and I have no idea when anyone is coming to finish. I’ve paid and am excited about the design. I just want it to be finished.
