flooring contractor
 + -1 moreBecause of Mr. Campbell's faulty workmanship in this situation and on our countertops, we did not trust that he could perform quality work and correct this problem. My husband was unable to make the repair himself, as Mr. Campbell did not cut the surrounding tile properly in order to insert a spacer. We had to hire a contractor to cut away excess tile so that a spacer could be inserted.
Description of Work: When Mr.Campbell installed ceramic tile on our bathroom floor, he did not insert a spacer to compensate for the increased elevation when the toilet was re-set. My husband specifically told him to make certain that he placed a spacer, as we had discovered other problems with Mr. Campbell's work in our kitchen (see other complaint) and my husband wanted to ensure that Mr. Campbell performed the work properly. Mr. Campbell assured my husband that he would insert a spacer over the flange when resetting the toilet. Shortly after the work was completed, we noticed that there was leakage through our basement ceiling. When my husband removed the toilet, he saw that there was no spacer to compensate for the elevated floor. When Mr. Campbell was notified by phone, he said that, although the floor was elevated, that he didn't feel a spacer had been necessary.

countertops
 + -1 moreHe left me with nothing on my counters for 2 months while I tried in vain to get him to admit his mistake and pay for the new countertops on order. After no cooperation from Mr. Campbell in paying for the new countertops on order, I contacted the Channel 10 Consumer department. Through many phone calls they were able to convince Mr. Campbell that he was liable for paying for my countertops. While Mr. Campbell paid Home Depot for the second set of countertops, he never admitted his mistakes with using my husband's measurements and leaving me in the cold with no countertops in place for 2 months while I was disputing his error. I terminated my contract with him and have hired other contractors to complete the countertop installation and backsplash. I'd like to warn other consumers to beware of contractors who represent one company, Lowes, then tell you they can do the work on the side. That was one of many red flags I discovered by working with Mr. Robert Campbell of House Proz.
Description of Work: He waived a countertop template fee at Home Depot. Took my husband's raw measurements into HD,even though I told him they were estimations for pricing only,crossed our names off the sheet put his name on,left it with a store designer,called by phone to pay for the order,never looked at The HD drawing before it was submitted to Lamacraft(countertop vendor).Paid HD $1456.44 for the countertops, charged me $2151.30,markup of $694.86. Tried to install the defective countertops with no beveled edges/varied depth, threw out my original countertops. Never would have authorized this work had he called me and told me what they looked like.I paid myself to have Lamacraft come to do a template. New countertops had to be reordered. I also got suckered into reversing the second and third payment on the contract giving him $841 more than the contract called for. Then he wanted $500 from his final payment for work he did to remove backsplash and countertops.
