Amazing Decks

We worked with Andrew at Amazing Decks and the entire experience was excellent! We were replacing a 30 year old self installed deck with a screened in porch and larger deck. We had ideas and Andrew provided suggestions. What sealed the deal was being able to see the materials and discuss final options with Andrew a at their showroom in Ambler. They quoted a price and schedule and were right on. Installation of our 700sqft deck/screened in porch occurred in January / February 2022. They arranged for the permits, dumpster, port-a-potty, materials delivery, and foundation work. They had a super dedicated installation team that worked on our job straight for 2 weeks in some of the worst weather we had - temps in the teens, snow, freezing rain. They removed the existing deck and built the new deck. They kept us up to date on the progress and explained the construction every day to me. They were very courteous and maintained a clean construction site. The final punch list took less than a few hours to complete. Our township required a seepage pitch for drainage. Amazing Decks also coordinated the work for it, which happened in April 2022. Once completed, they did a final cleanup of the job site, filled in some ruts in the lawn, seeded and put hay on the bare spots. Overall, from beginning to end, they were fantastic to work with and the finished product - decks and screened in porch are - you guessed it - Amazing!

If this is how they acquire a customer, scared to think how they treat the customer when they are actually hired.

I reached out to get an estimate, unfortunately no courteous attempt was made to contact me.

They did an excellent job from start to finish. Bill our salesperson was very professional and knowledgeable. He guided us through the entire process. We were not satisfied with the contrast in two colors of pavers and they searched for the correct pavers and made sure we were happy with the results. Barry the project manager was excellent. The project turned out beautifully.

I have an old deck that needs to be replaced so I scheduled an estimate with Amazing Decks. Andrew came out to give an estimate and he was quite professional and knowledgeable. We talked very thoroughly about what we want and within a week he provided me with a sketch and estimate. One of the things we talked about was going the route of a patio instead of a deck. Wanting to get an estimate for both, I made an appointment for their hardscape guy to come out. I made the appointment in person at their shop. The person I spoke with (the hardscape guy who was going to be doing the estimate) said he didn't need to write down my information or information about the appointment. Low and behold, he never showed for the appointment. I called to reschedule for the next day and he graciously showed up that time. He said he would provide me with an estimate within four days. It's been two weeks and, like the original appointment, I can only assume it's slipped his mind again. Ignoring the fact that my time was wasted twice - once for the missed appointment and again for an appointment that yielded no estimate - I'm simply not willing to proceed with Amazing Decks as a patio installer. While Andrew was great, the hardscape guy (who would likely the one in charge of my project) was not. If it's this much of a struggle to get them to be responsive when they should be vying for my business, I can't imagine what it would be like once they have my money.

Salesman was a pro at the run around.

The deck is beautiful but the roof is still leaking. They are not good at coming back for repairs

My prior deck was rotted and had to be removed. There was no portion of the deck or supporting that could be salvaged. Amazing Decks provided the lowest quote for a company that would use its own crew to remove the old deck and build the new deck. I did not want to use a company that would sub-contract the work. Once I decided to accept Amazing Deck's quote, Bill Wilson spent over an hour with myself and my wife at the showroom reviewing different color options. When the crew came on site (led by Glenn), they were professional and efficient. My wife and I were very happy with the new deck. I would recommend Amazing Decks to anybody in the Montgomery County area. who needs a new deck.

Work started around 7:30 in the morning and would wrap up from around 4-5 pm. We had this job done in January so be prepared to turn your hose on and off for the concrete mix for the footers. The guys were always on time and polite. This job was messy and noisy so be prepared. It helps to have some space set aside for deliveries of materials and parking. This job took approximately 2 weeks plus additional time for final touches. Overall it was worth it. My wife loves it and that's what matters.

Drew arrived for the inspection of the property and appraisal for the deck on time as promised. He was friendly, professional and in good spirits. He was very informative, knowledgable, and helpfull with information, and prompt with answers to questions without hesitation. Amazing Decks works with all popular types of decking and we were happy with the presentation and the options available. Unfourtunately, the price was a little high for our present budget. I would highly recommend them if asked for a reference, and believe they would build a very nice deck.

Flawless installation which required new footings/underpinnings and expansion of existing deck space. A first rate job from initial sales contact till job end. Installers who were eager to answer any questions we had as the job progressed. Minor modifications were handled as job progressed without additional cost or push back. Job site was kept as clean as possible given the cold and wet weather. Post job follow up by sales rep was timely and responsive to several punch list issues which were easily resolved. A great finished product completed by a real professional crew.

They were really quick to get an estimate after I requested it. They're very professional.

They took care of all the paperwork with the township and the homeowners association. When the salesman came to our house, I knew immediately that they were the company for us. He was willing to come out at 5am on a Sunday because I was working so much. He showed up on the dot, dressed professionally. His price was a little higher than others, but you get what you pay for. Overall, this company did an unbelieveable job. It was done the same day and the whole experience was very refreshing.

Everything turned out well. The crew arrived on time, used the appropriate equipment and materials, and the quality of their work was sound. They cleaned up nicely, too.

A very pleasant and professional experience from beginning to end. They were very knowledable about design and material options and a great help to us in deciding exactly what we wanted and providing options for staying within our budget. They even have a small showroom where you can take a look at the different materials and combinations of materials in person before making a decision. They provided a very thorough and professional design package for our HOA and township applications. The build itself was very fast and the quality of the work superb.

The installation went fine but a few years later the deck started to fade. I had a hard time convincing them that there was a problem. 6 months later I called the manufacturer to handle the warranty issue myself. I'm now having a problem with the railing and steps twisting from a bad pressure treated 4X4. I have been waiting for over 6 months and finally paid another contractor to replace my steps which were installed without a proper footing to keep them from heaving in the winter. I previously recommended this contractor to my neighbor who is having the same problem.

Our experience with Amazing Decks was wonderful from beginning to end. The individual we first met with who designed our deck was very friendly and professional. He was willing to work with us tweaking the design until it was exactly what we wanted. He was very responsive throughout the process. When it came time for the deck to be built, the workers arrived early and worked long days accomplishing a significant amount of work each day. The entire deck (which is 545 square feet) was completed in less than a week. They were also very accommodating when we asked to change the color of our posts and railings (before they were installed). The end product is beautiful and exceeded our expectations! We would (and will!) recommend Amazing Decks to anyone planning to install a deck.

Bill came out to the house to do an estimate and brought a book of photographs of decks they did, as well as Trex literature. He emailed me an estimate quickly. I then went to their showroom in Ambler to see some sample deck designs as well as sample materials. I gave them my deposit check on the spot since I felt confident in their quality and professionalism. Within a few days I received literature from them that outlined the whole process and gave me a good idea of what to expect and when. He emailed me the permit, which I signed and sent back (slight hiccup here in which they didn't receive my email the first time - only cost a week). It took several weeks to get the permit, but then I got an email asking if they could start the next day (which they did). The whole process, including the teardown, took less than a week. The work was flawless - I had no issues with anything. And they cleaned up the whole site, including power washing the deck. It looks great - especially the lights in the posts and on the steps. Very stress-free! I would use them again (if I had another deck to do:)).

Our contact came out to review the project on a Sunday at 8 am (per our request). Amazing Decks took care of getting approval from our association and kept us involved during the entire process. Outstanding service and I would recommend to all. AAA+++ job. I would suggest if you are serious about getting a new deck or doing a tear down to meet with one of the reps first. Great know how, good installers and ALWAYS returns calls or emails. Found Amazing Decks on Angie's List.

Ed Fulmer, the sales rep, was great to work with. He offered good suggestions for how the area below the deck could be improved. I worked closely with him on getting the contract just right. Overall, the project went very smoothly and we are happy with the results. The workmanship was solid (subcontracted to Aaron and his crew). Very importantly, Keith Fry, the co-owner, made sure that everything on my punch list was addressed to my satisfaction. The only negative comment I have is that I signed the contract in May, hoping to have a new deck for the summer, but it wasn't completed until sometime in September and some of that delay (not all) was caused by Amazing Decks. That was a disappointment, but it was worth having a company that was otherwise a pleasure to work with. After the job completed, I received information from Trex that power washing the deck would void the warranty. This surprised me and I don't know if Amazing Decks was aware of this warranty condition. I mention this so anyone else contemplating a Trex deck will know this upfront.

I had someone come out to do an instimate and never received a call with a quote. I followed up and was told that I was in the pile and still no call back...

I didn't receive any response from them.

I would not normally review a company that did not perform a service, but this experience deserves to be documented. We were looking to get a quote to convert our screened in porch into a covered patio. The representative arrived on time, listened to the explanation of the work, and took measurements. He was not very informative as we were very open to suggestion, but he said that they would review the project and send us a quote. A few days later, we received a rejection letter stating that they could not do the work or even provide a quote. I found it very unorthodox that they sent a letter and did not call or email with an explanation. Not the best customer service in my opinion. Since I only received a letter and no other explanation the only conclusion that makes sense is that the project was not a high enough dollar amount for this company. I would not bother trying to get a quote from this company if you think your project will be less than $10,000.

Can't say I regret anything they did. We only had some trouble reaching them on the phone to commit to a start date, after that it went smoothly. I would definetly recommend them for a friend or families deck.

Ed, my salesman, came for an estimate and was very good at explaining every thing to me. When they came to start the work it was a 3-man team. They started my back area first. They were missing a few things for the railing so they couldn't quite finish. Then they began my front area, which was the worst. We ran into a problem with my township which caused a delay. I won't go into the ridiculous township issue; the men complied and were able to finish before Christmas. I am disabled so it is critical that I have a safe entry into my home. I am very happy with the entire job from start to finish. Everyone was professional and gracious. I only wish they did fences too!
