Solarshield Metal Roofing

Everything went great, they were very fast, complete and made the structure look so much better with the new metal roof and gutters. The crews were outstanding!!

The total process took 2 days but everything was completed and all of the debris was removed. The roof looks great and we are very happy with the work.

Excellent work took care of all issues promptly and roof looks great and compliments all around on the roof.

Terrible. Over a year since roof was installed and rubber roof is still not right. Bubbles and ripples are still there. Excuse was it would take at least a year to get flat once installed. Isn’t flat yet. Says they called my house when I asked to speak to someone and left a message but they never did. I have voice mail and caller ID. No calls were returned. Said it would be one or two days to perform work it was over a week and a half. Didn’t order all the materials needed to compete the job. Metal roof was scratched. Left the work area a mess. Pieces of old shingles were left in the gutters clogging them. A massive amount of roofing screws were left throughout the yard. Had to have someone return to cut the edges of the rubber roof. Still not straight. Did not clean up the rubber roofing sealant that was slopped onto the edging. My husband and I used them because they have been in business locally for all most 40 years. Big mistake.

Went very well. From meeting, signing contract everything went according to time frame that was told to us. Installers very professional and just as quoted had roof completed and all clean up done in one day.

We were told 8-10 weeks to start, and we're given a start date within that time frame. They had their sign in our yard for 2 months prior to starting advertising the job. They were supposed to come 7-7:30 am on the first day, so show, no call. Office didn't answer our call til 9:30, only to be told they weren't coming. Would be next day, same draft time. No show til 8:30, with Dan Green with them saying would give us restaurant certificates for the no show. Didn't get. On top of that, on the work crew, a 14 year-old boy. No work permit, but even if he had NOT LEGAL to do roofing!!!!!! Tried telling us it's their culture (Mennonite). Still not legal. I hired a PA licensed company, not culture, and a child is not going on my roof. Plus know not on solarshields payroll books, and more than likely not being paid apprentice wages. Dan Green even called saying he just shouldn't be on the roof, so he knew the child was there, so knows he's in violation of child labor laws. Another worker even brought up not finishing the job til I said solarshield could get up to a $10,000 federal fine. For these reasons I would never hire them again. The roof looks great, the cleanup was good. It's only been a few days so we'll have to see if it leaks at all. What's funny after 2 months of the sign out front pending the work, they removed the sign when done. Isn't the finished work what they'd want to advertise? Guess the knew I wouldn't give a good recommendation.

My spouting is leaking and they are supposed to come back again because they didn't fix it the first time they came out at the end of May. I rated the price a D because when I told my insurance company the cost of the new roof they felt like me that it was high. I know they do have good high quality work for the most part.

The installers were very nice and did a great job. The new roof looks excellent and everyone I worked with at the company went the extra mile to ensure the job came out well.

Work was done within 3 days and they did a awesome job. Couldn't ask for better service.

The installation was accomplished in a day and a half. The installers were very efficient and professional. They kept us informed throughout the day as to how the installation was progressing. They did an excellent job with the trim around the windows. Additionally, they did a fantastic job of cleaning up the debris left from the removal of the old windows!

I was very pleased with the finished product. The crew were very capable and did an excellent job from start to finish including clean up.

Overall, the project went really well, and the end result is amazing. Both Dan Sr. (sales) and Dan Jr. (production) were good to work with, and the contractor on site, Joe Miller, did an excellent job with the construction. Joe was really good about talking through the details with me, and he made it a point to ask me what I wanted whenever there was a choice to me made. For instance, I wanted the ceiling fan hooked up to a switch on the wall, instead of a remote control, and Joe took the time to figure out how to make that happen. Similarly, I wanted a GFI on the outside of the sunroom, and Joe figured out how to run the electrical wires through the house to get the GFI where I wanted it. With any project this large it's impossible to work out all the details in advance, and I was very happy with the way Joe and Dan Jr. worked through changing the details with me during the construction. For instance, the original plan was to have 8' side walls and a 10' peak on the room. However, once the new deck was built we realized that the overhang from the house made it impossible to have the side walls 8' high. They figured out how to cut out part of the overhang to get the side walls up to 7.5' high, and then I had Joe cut the peak in at 9.5' in order to keep the shape of the trapezoidal glass the way I wanted it. Good communication was key to getting the room built the way I wanted it, and both Joe and Dan Jr. did an excellent job keeping me informed and in the loop on all the details throughout the construction.

They owe me money. They told me if I told Angie's List, they would give me a check for $50, which they never did. They were very good.

This project went faster than expected. The quality of workmanship is excellent. The gentlemen who did the work were two of the most polite individuals I have ever had for home improvement. The outcome was above my expectations and I would recommend anyone who wants a superior finish to use this firm. The gentlemen who did the work were exceptionally careful of our home, carpeting, and everything else as they came and went doing this work.

Fast replacement, looks fantastic!!

Everything about the project went smoothly. The salesman and the installers were all very knowledgeable and professional. The roof was installed a couple of weeks earlier than expected, and it only took one day to install. There was a slight issue with MAC metals sending a wrong part (the foam/screen that goes under the ridge cap), but the installers got the right part and fixed that early the next morning.

Crew arrived, worked all day. No chatting, etc. 1½ days job was done and cleaned up.

Installers arrived in time-removed old tub and took 1½ days to install new walk-in-tub friendly, explained everything they were doing, disposed of old tub. Cleaned up well after completion of job. Respectful of cats in house-kept doors closed.
