First day he was to come he called and asked if he could change it to the next day. I said yes. He showed up on time. But didn't bring enough paint. He forgot his drop cloths so after he left I had white splatter over EVERYTHING in my dining room and living room - couch, railing, pictures, lamp, dining room table, shoes on the floor, kitchen floor etc. He was here about 3 hrs. and that is about how long it took me to clean up. 2nd time he came he was here 70 minutes to put another coat on the ceiling and left the same mess as the first time. Meanwhile since he had left his empty paint can here I researched the product and it had TERRIBLE reviews. It's not really ceiling paint. The employee at Lowe's said it was junk!. So I asked him if he used ceiling paint and he said yes, and I told him about the terrible reviews and he said that's all he uses. To save people money! On his third trip here to finish the ceiling he did remember his drop cloths and told me he had forgotten them the first two times he was here. So after 2 coats (maybe 3) and obvious areas where the paint did not take on my ceiling, ( he said they were shadows but they weren't) he Kilzed a few spots and said he would return and make it perfect. In addition to going over the estimated bid by 500.00 and since he had left close to 20 roller lines on the ceiling, some 4 feet long, I decided to not let him paint the walls. I told him we were going to paint the walls ourselves and asked when he could come and finish the ceiling as he said it would be the following Monday after Easter. I didn't hear from him and called him. He said he couldn't come and would call me that night. Never called. Didn't call today either. I doubt if he will return. So I have spent a lot of time scraping off roller lines and paint balls from the ceiling, which came off with a popsicle stick because the product was so poor. Like powder. I should have suspected something when he first came to give me an estimate and I said "What is your name?" and he did not give me his real name. I called the references, yes I did do that, they said "Oh, you must mean Jay Rand." He has a very nice business card, without his name on it, that lists a website that does not exist. Plus, the checks I gave him he asked me to make out to his wife, not him or the business name. He said his bank account wasn't set up yet! He has not provided me with all the receipts for materials. So 11 days after work began my ceiling is not finished and now my husband has to take off work to paint it again with ceiling paint and try to make it look even.

Mr. JR when are you coming out to finish our house you took our money and ran? You remember the one in Johnstown that we was rebuilding after our house burnt to the ground? You keep ignoring my husbands texts messages. I thought you hated being taken advantage of? Yet, that is what you are doing to us. I thought you had like six kids so you should know that you taking my husbands hard earned money is taking that out of my childrens mouths. I guess it's time to get ahold of a lawyer wish it didn't come to this. I guess our biggest down fall is being too nice and trusting the wrong people. :( You know who we are and I will delete this and give you a good review if you just come out and finish it properly. I really hope that you will make your end right. Sincerely, the family in Johnstown that you wronged. So, I highly DON'T recommend him or his "business". Not to mention that his work wasn't the best for example runs in the paint, he made a small hole in my wall, paint droppings all over our floor, etc. its a mess. In a time where I shouldn't have to worry about someone stealing off us after we literally walked out of there with the clothing on our back we now have to deal with this.
