I called with a plumbing issue and he was nice to offer a suggestion first before actually coming out. It worked and he saved me money. I would definitely use it again.

Joe was very professional. He came on time. Installed the toilets very efficiently. Reasons for a high rating: * The only plumber that returned my call the same day. * He suggested cost saving tips. * He said that instead of paying him for taking away the toilets to the dump, that I can use the existing trash collection in the neighborhood and save money. * He inspected his installation thoroughly. One of the hoses that he used created a small (possibly negligible) leak. He spent time trying to fix it. And in the end, he replaced the hose with a different one. * I offered one of my brand new toilet seats to him (wrong color for us), because it was already open. He said that since I did not use it, I can still return it. He was also very nice in letting me know that I bought good quality stuff. I know that the real test for service ratings comes when a problem shows up at a later time. However, at this time, there is no reason for me to believe that he wouldn't be just as professional. Strongly recommend him.

He was on time, very nice and very professional. He was here for about 2 1/2 hours. We didn't have any estimates from other plumbers, so I don't know how his price compares to others. I thought, without any knowledge, that it would be about $350 for the job, but the $480 didn't seem too unreasonable to get the water running in our house again. I would recommend him to others and use him again if I have any issues.
Description of Work: Replaced a broken pipe that lead from our bathroom to our basement in a pretty tight space. He also checked and replaced parts on a water line that goes into the back of our refrigerator.

Response from Joe Georgini Plumbing & Heating
In response to this customers review, he asked if I can do the job on Sunday. I explained if he wanted to wait until Monday, that it would be less costly. Even though I did the work on Sunday, I still only charged him $650.00 for almost 7 hours of work which consisted of shutting down the heating system, removing a radiator and replacing the hot water feed line from the 2nd floor radiator to the basement. I then had to bleed all the radiators and refill the system. All materials were also included in the $650.00 price so I feel that was very resonable.

Joe was very responsive and professional. He was able to quote a price by me sending some pictures which I thought was very convenient. He had the water heater tank replaced in just a few hours and came back to replace the outdoor faucets since it was raining pretty bad outside. Overall experience was good and I will be calling Joe for any of my future projects.

He called and said he was close to me and could come over and take a look at my project. He went over everything with me. He advised me on a few different things. He didn't charge me anything to come out and look at it. He came and did the work well. They put in all new pipes. He was able to salvage most of the tiles and leveled the tub beautifully. He did all the plumbing from underneath in my living room as part of my geothermal heating system. He called his brother and they came to repair the ceiling after they were done. They were very neat and careful.

The repair was a success, he was on time, however, while he was working he cracked 2 of the ceramic tiles by the toilet. There was barely an apology and no offer to pay or to reduce the price of the job to compensate for the damage. We feel that was unprofessional. We would not use him again.

Mr. Georgini responded almost immediately to my call about the hot water heater, which was actually on a Sunday morning very early. The water had been shut off but he came over because I could not figure out which breaker shut off the electric. He was very helpful. He was back and forth over a 2 day period fixing everything. I would not use him again ONLY because when he presented me with the bill, which was quite a lot of money, the bill was totaled up with a description of the work but was not broken down according to cost of heater and other supplies, and what exactly was the cost of labor I mentioned it to him and he stated he knows he is 10% cheaper than everyone else but I don't know that.. I would have wanted a "breakdown" so I could see where my $4250 went. His work was good and he was a nice person but I really would not do business with anyone in the future who presents with that kind of bill.
Description of Work: Mr. Georgini was called and responded to a water heater that was split and leaking water everywhere. While he was here I had him fix some plumbing, leaking sinks, install new garbage disposal, hoses on washer, leaking toilet and several new fixtures.

In response to this customers review, I gave her a list of materials and prices for those materials which then she picked out and gave the ok to purchase them. We came to an agreed price for both labor and materials to be $4250.00 I am rather confused as to why she made the review somewhat negative as far as pricing is related. Materials cost just for her job was almost $3,000.00. I worked on her project all day Sunday and Monday and part of Tuesday. When I completed the work, I presented her with the invoice which was the quote she had agreed to, and she said she was very happy with the work and wrote me a check.

It was the flange and said he would reseal the toilet. He showed me a few rusty bowls in the toilet but I didn’t think that would add to the price. Usually contractors let you know if the price would be higher (then the estimate) if they find additional issues. He never did. He just went ahead and fixed everything. After he was finished (2 hours later) he handed me a bill for $615. I was in shock and wrote the check. After he left I went back up to look at the bathroom. He left a big mess in the bathroom. When I called my husband to tell him about everything my husband reminded me that he was suppose to fix the sink as well. I called him back and was told it would be an additional $250. When I first called Mr. Georgini and he quoted me 10% off any job under $500 and 20% off any job over $500. That discount was never applied to the final bill.
Description of Work: Gave me an estimate over the phone and gave me a range on the pricing ($550). He said he could work on it yesterday( Sunday).

Response from Joe Georgini Plumbing & Heating
In response to this customers review, I was very Professional and provided her with the quote before any work was started.. What this customer did not mention, is that she called me on Saturday night, June 15, 2013 at 8 pm and said water was leaking through the kitchen ceiling and that it was an emergency. I came right out to her residence 30 miles away and was able to diagnose the problem. She had a boken flange on her toilet and the flush valve and tank bolts on her toilet tank were bad. I spent 3 hours there Saturday night including travel time and told her I would return on Sunday, Fathers day to complete the repair. I gave her an estimate of $580.00 for labor and parts including the angies list discount which is written on her receipt, to remove the toilet and install a new cast iron flange on the pipe as well as overhaul the toilet tank and all the parts including the flush valve, tank bolts, tank seal and flapper seal. I completed all the work on Sunday and charged her $580.00 for labor and parts plus tax which was $615.00 for the total job that took me nearly 7.5 hours on both Saturday night and Sunday to complete. When I completed the work, I cleaned up as I always do after every Job. (This customer was upset because of the following reason:) After I finished with the toilet, She asked me to look at her bathroom sink which had an odor coming from the pipe. The pipe had a cracked vent running through the wall. I quoted her a price of $250.00 to cut the wall and replace the vent pipe and reinstall the sink. She asked me if I could just PUT DUCT TAPE over it because she was selling the house. I told her that would be against plumbing code and I could not do that. She seemed somewhat upset and said that no one would know about it. I told her again that it was against code and I could lose my license so she just told me to forget it and she would find someone else to repair it.I have been running an HONEST, fair business for about 25 years now and refuse to do anything dishonest so I hope the next plumber who looks at her sink will also want to repair it the right way.

We needed a new water heater, replacing a Bradford White powervent propane 75 gallon tank. After calling several plumbers and getting either no response or delayed responses, some wanting money to come take a look for an estimate, Joe was the only one who said, "Take a few pictures and text them to my cellphone and I'll give you an estimate." Pretty much, he had assessed the situation, found a price on the new tank, figured out parts, labor and time, and came up with an estimate that was almost right on the money for what he charged after finishing the job. ... All in about an hour of getting the pictures. What was interesting was that Home Depot's response - a week after I called - came out and gave a free estimate that was $300 more than Joe - not using the BW. Horizon came out within a day, but their free estimate was $800 more! I didn't use anyone who wanted money just to come out and look. Joe said he'd be out Monday morning before noon, so I thought that would be around 10:30/11:00. He and his brother called at 8:30 and said they'd be there by 9! WOW, an early plumber! How about that? There was one plus already for Joe. He came down into the basement, assessed the situation, said the pictures were great, and proceeded to bring in all of his equipment and the new tank. By 10:00, they were dismantling the old tank. They had one unexpected little surprise with the old bladder tank snapping off the copper pipe, but he was quick to respond and moved right onto the next part of the project. Hauling in a 250 pound new tank and hauling out a 250 pound old tank was a bear, but with only the usual banter between brothers, they managed to do the job without incident. By 1:00, Joe was writing up the invoice, and by 1:30, we were with a new water heater and life was back to normal in the house. So if you want a plumber who shows up on time, does a great job, and bills you what he estimated, then Joe is your plumber. He's now my plumber.
Description of Work: Joe replaced a 250 pound Bradford White powervent propane 75 gallon water heater. He brought the new tank, and hauled it down into the basement with the help of his brother. He drained the old tank, removed the bladder tank and the old Bradford White, hung a new bladder tank, and installed the new BW. He and his brother then hauled the old tank out, and took it away. All of this took the good portion of the morning plus. The work was done responsibly, professionally, and in my estimation, it was all done properly. Joe used high quality materials, and knew exactly what he was doing. He and his brother were polite, respectful, and hard working. $2,580 Plus Tax.... More than I wanted to spend, but believe it or not, it was a lot better than the other plumbers estimates! And I would definitely use Joe again!

The plumber solved both problems and worked hard to do it (no slack time, no lunch). He was here a total of 6-7 hours, the vast majority of which was spent on finding exactly where the drain blockage was. Once the position of the blockage was determined, snaking it out happened relatively quickly. It's difficult to assess whether another plumber would have had better analytical tools/methods to determine where (in the long drain path) the blockage was, thereby reducing the time and, therefore the cost. One of the things he had to do was cut out a 4' section of cast iron pipe in order to use the snake, after which the section was replaced with PVC. That would have had to be done regardless of how fast the location of the drain blockage was found. So overall, he did what we called him to do, and we would use him again.
Description of Work: Had two plumbing problems. The first was a clogged drain from the laundry room. Mr. Georgini eventually took care of that problem, but it took two visits. In the first visit (on 2/22), his attempt to free the drain using a snake was unsuccessful due to the configuration of the pipe. He was unable to return until 2/27 due to other commitments and his truck needing repair. He was able to unclog the drain on that day. The 2nd problem was an outside hose faucet where the pipe to it had frozen and burst in a crawl space under the house. The faucet and broken pipe were replaced.

In response to this customers review, I thought the price I gave him was very reasonable since I was there for 2.0 hours on the first day and 7.0 hours on the final day. Materials cost was $150.00 bringing the net cost to $635.00 for a total of 9.0 hours @ $70.00 per hour which is $20.00 to $30.00 less than most master plumbers rate. Also, becase of my 25 plus years experience, I was able to figure this problem out more quickly than most other professionals. The drain blockage was compounded due to the fact that it was not only at the utility sink but also in the floor drain in the basement and cast iron pipe had to be cut just to access the drain and new piping installed after the drain was cleared. I want to thank this customer for his positive comments and his confidence in wanting to use me again for other plumbing projects.

I had called a different plumber first, one I had used before and was very happy with. The other plumber's estimate for doing all the work that Joe actually finished was more than twice the $395 that Joe charged me. And, the estimate did not include the crack in the toilet tank (which was unknown at the time), but did include changing the pipes under the sink from galvanized steel to PVC. Although I had hoped not to spend as much on the repairs as $400, I felt it was well worth getting fixed as much as I did, not to mention all the knowledge Joe gave me about what yet has to be done!
Description of Work: Joe was very nice, very knowledgeable, very clear, very helpful, and very thorough. I will be using him again to work on some of my other plumbing problems. A little used bathroom in my home had a disfunctioning toilet plus a sink that drained very slowly. Joe found that some of the tank innards were too old to be useful, and so replaced much of it (water control tank valve, flapper seal, water supply pipe), but the major find was that the tank itself had a large inverted V crack in it. He cleaned out the tank, dried it, epoxied it, tested it, and it was fixed! At least, it certainly seems to be holding very nicely. He also plunged the sink to remove the rust that has built up over many years. The pipes are galvanized steel, and he explained why, over years, that's a big problem. It seems the entire house has nothing but galvanized steel, so I can expect the same rust problems eventually, throughout. :( He honestly told me that he was afraid with too much pressure, the plumbing under the sink might crack due to age and condition, and he did not feel comfortable using his snake to probe for more rust than he had already gotten out. He suggested that the entire sink (which has chipped enamel spots) with all attending pipes be replaced. He also looked at the shower head (which is original), and tested the tub and shower faucets/flows. When finished, he completely cleaned up and took all the trash with him. I have a 1950's cape cod home, and the air flow upstairs is not the best. This work was done on a very hot day, and even though the A/C was on (the first floor was very cool), it was very warm upstairs. Joe REALLY worked up a sweat! I appreciate the effort he has already put in, and plan to call on him to work on the main bathroom stall shower drain and my kitchen sink faucet.
