We met with the listing agent, Vince Schmidt, toured the house and asked him to be a dual agent for a reduced fee because we were doing all of the work that a buyer's agent would be performing. Not only did Vince reject this, he belittled us and asked if we were serious about purchasing this property. We wrote up the sales contract for him, other than having a suitcase full of cash, how else could we be any more serious? We gave him 4 opportunities to act as a dual agent for 4% commission and he flat out refused. We ended up getting a buyer's agent who was willing to split the buyer's agent commission. This seemed to irritate Mr. Schmidt and he made sure our offer was received negatively by the sellers. We asked for clarification on the Seller's Disclosure and received no details that the seller should have provided. When we complained to the Northwood Office Manger, Chris Graham, we never heard back from her. Our agent had never had an experience like this. Mr Schmidt was not professional and borderline unethical how he handled this situation. We would avoid working with him or with the Allison Park / Hampton Northwood Realty office. The house ended up selling for $3000 less than what we offered.
