Schuler Service Inc

Very expensive to have a drain unclogged - $369 even with a coupon. We even waited a few days so we wouldn't be charged an emergency fee. Thought it would be around $80 to $100 but that was the fee just to come to the house and then it was a charge per so many feet. However, the plumber only snaked out around the main trap (approximately 3 feet) and not the whole pipe from the basement to the street. Within a week and a half the drain backed up again into the basement and shower drain. We called and were told that we may be charged again if we put wipes or sanitary napkins down our drain! Felt they should have apologized and said they would fix the problem without a fee since we had paid a lot of money only a few days ago. After putting our review on their site, we got a call and someone was there shortly and did a proper job. Very pricey and job was poorly done and had to be redone.

Excellent! They did a great job. They were on time and professional. I would highly recommend them. We've had them in the past and we've always been satisfied.

It went well. First visit realized had another gas line installed for outside grill and would require extra work to route gas line. Showed me the issue and explained options. Walked me through pricing. Had to schedule another day because of time required for job and the technician did not have time, paid trip charge (I mention this only because it leads to the B in price). I read a bunch of reviews and did not see any concerns on quality, but a lot mentioned price. I wanted it right and fast, so I was comfortable with quote. The only thing that stood out was if I had not asked about applying the trip charge to the scheduled repair, they would have charged me again - I would say you know the right thing to do, just do it. I was ready to have service done and it was rescheduled because Schuler's didn't have time. I was ok paying the trip charge up front, because as repair person explained I could have had someone else come in and do work. If the had just done that would have given an A on price. I had a family emergency and they were able to accommodate a reschedule and get it done before new stove arrived. Technician was great and worked hard and continually to get job done. I would recommend Schuler Service and would use them again.

I don't believe in company bashing. I would like to offer my opinion and experience with Schuler Service. My Moen tub spout had been leaking. I contacted Moen with a picture and they informed me I would need to replace the cartridge, a part they offer for free to original owners. I contacted Schuler Service along with a few other local plumbers and described the problem. Schuler contacted me first so I setup a next day appointment with them. I asked for a rough estimate over the phone as I knew exactly what needed to be done. They said someone would need to come and look and couldn't provide an estimate over the phone. I have a brother in law who is a plumber but unfortunately lives in Las Vegas. He said it was a simple job and shouldn't be more than $150. The next morning, the day of my appointment with Schuler, I received an email from another plumber that I had inquired with. He also said it was a straightforward job and would be able to provide the cartridge for free and was estimating the job to be around $90. He was on vacation and couldn't do the job until the following week. After hearing from 2 plumbers and having an estimate in my head, I have the Schuler Service technician show up at my house. He was very courteous and professional. He looks at my tub spout, plugs in a few keys on his Ipad and shows me a price of $436. I was dumbfounded especially after speaking with 2 previous plumbers. I asked him what exactly he was doing and how long it would take. He said that price was for changing the cartridge and the job would be done within an hour. Obviously I didn't have the work done but still had to pay the $89 service fee. After he left I called Moen. The Moen representative sent me the cartridge and said they come with instructions. She said many people change these without the help of a plumber as long as you have some kind of techinical know how. The point I am making in all this is the job was not very technical nor time consuming. Prices in Plumbing, HVAC and general handyman companies are usually based on the technical difficulty, time needed to complete job and staying competitive with it's competitors in the area they service. In this case, the technical difficulty was minimal, the time needed was an hour or less and it's competition was quoting $90. Based on some reviews and accolades they received, Schuler Service does seem to do their job right. I must say their customer service is very friendly and courteous. With that said, there are plenty of other plumbers that also do their job right with great customer service skills that will charge a mere fraction of what Schuler Service charges. It's easier for a company to charge higher prices when they impose a service call fee. Many people will opt to have the job done at a higher price to avoid wasting $89 and then having to look for another plumber. A simple search on Yahoo or Google for your area's plumbers with free estimates will yield more than a few results. I am sure Schuler Service does good work, but it comes with a hefty cost. I am not saying Schuler Service is bad nor the company for you. I am saying that everyone should do their research, find reasonable quotes for the job needed and make an informed decision. couldn't repair had to take picture and sent to office to help identify and see what was needed payed 70.00 for no work done came up with 275.00 to repair or 1,400 to replace part. ended up repairing myself with 3,50 cent washer and had another plumber give estimate of 350,00 to replace part ,Schullers is very misleading and after initial 79.00 chg.I just talked to my friend who called them to have their boiler cleaned he paid over 400.00 just for clean...wow NEVER AGAIN

Extremely happy with the work. They were polite, professional and VERY clean! Sorted through a few odd things early and quickly and fixed other water connections when they saw something was wrong. I appreciate that! Office staff and phone help was excellent too!

Work was done well, no complaints there. My only complaint is that it costed me $400 to get a piece of copper pipe fixed. Seemed a little pricey to me but at that point when they came out and gave me that estimate I was already $80 in for the visit alone regardless if I went with their estimate or not. Other than that company was very responsive and the plumber was courteous.

They professional, prompt and bent over backwards to accommodate me and come out the same day. They would not however honor the $40.00 of Angie's List coupon that was on the website.

Erik L came out and fixed issues we were having with our sink clogging and leaking. The piping was a mess, due to sinks having been changed out with previous home owners, but he knew exactly what to do and had the problem corrected quickly. Now everything looks like it was serviced by a pro. Erik was friendly, helpful with tips for us as first time homeowners, and was very thorough with cleaning up when he was finished. He arrived on time and I appreciated Schuler sending us a photo of who would be coming in advance. Thanks, Erik!Si

They were pretty good and did an amazing job

They do very good work and were really good at communicating when they were coming, cleaned up well and I would highly recommend them.

First of all they charge 2-4x what is industry standard. They suggested work that was not the problem we called for and was not related to the problem. They gave no price breakdown itemizing how much extra we were charged for this other service until we got an email of the bill days after the service. The repair man spent 20 minutes replacing two parts on a pipe, parts costing $15. We were charged $600+. He then spent 40 mins more here complaining unsolicited about work done by a chimney service we had. Turned out he was wrong about those complaints. The company emailed a review of their service, which I was honest about. Over 6 weeks later they responded, by calling me and being rude, accusatory and demeaning. Save your money and go elsewhere!

Rick came to my house the morning after I requested an estimate. He arrived on time and conducted himself in a professional manner. He seemed interested in performing a quality repair, and listened to what I had to say. The flooring subcontractor arrived two days later, and conducted himself in the same manner. I was provided an estimate after just a few days, and the estimate was quickly revised, as per my request. The pricing was competitive. In the end, I chose a different contractor, but I would still recommend Schuler Service based on my experience with them.

Was overcharged and then forced to pay $89 service charge just to come over to give me an inflated estimate that I refused. Here is the breakdown of their estimate: - $347.97 to replace rusted kitchen sink trap. - $536.63 to fix or replace the interior mechanism in a low-flow toilet - $461.20 to replace pressure regulator and cartridge in a pressure assisted toilet The cost of the sink trap is only a few dollars and could not possibly take more than an hour, if not half hour, to replace, so that would come to well over $300 an hour labor, (being conservative). Toilets would cost much less to replace entirely. I was told I would be forgiven the $89 service cost if I agreed to the over inflated estimate. I did not, so I was charged this amount for nothing.

The job was scheduled for two days after my call, at a time convenient for me. Jason S. arrived on time and immediately started the work after giving me the price. Besides the leaky worn out innards, he discovered another problem with the toilet...a "rat" in the outflow of the toilet. The "rat" was a mass of mysterious strands that turned out to be years of dental floss that caught and gathered up like hair in a sink or tub drain. Who knew? It was a first for Jason. But now, I am delighted with my new "right height" leak and floss free toilet. And after taking a photo of the floss "rat" I am happy to know that my problem will be in the scrapbook of plumbing oddities!

Schuler service never disappoints. Deron H. and Jason H. were exceptional in their professionalism and courtesy. Task took longer than anticipated, and they stayed passed their normal working hours without rushing or complaining until everything was finished. Very neat and cleaned everything afterwards. Great work. Very satisfied. Will definitely hire again .

The technician from Schuler's spotted the problem within about 15 minutes of beginning to work. The tank had not been assembled correctly in the first place. A small part was left out on the one side that was correctly installed on the other side, thus causing the wobble. It was fixed perfectly.

The technicians were at the house within 1 hr. of the phone call. Jason Hansell & Jason Sabin were excellent - very professional, knowledgeable, & very neat. They explained what they were doing each step of the way. They put a snake down the pipe until the drain was unclogged. When the job was finished they recommended using 3 in 1 Total C to keep the drains clear. We were well pleased. Great Job Jason & Jason! Thanks

They were to have done the job the day before, but we were apprised every hour during our arrival time window that all the techs were still on other calls. We were then promised that a tech would arrive first thing the next day and that is exactly what happened. Our tech, Mike, assessed what needed to be done and promptly got to work with all the required tools and repair items in hand to replace the "Easy Close" Laundry Valve. He was efficient, cordial, and very professional.

Jason was very thorough and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain how the plumbing worked in my house and made sure to inform me of all the work he was doing.

It went very well. The technician, John, knew exactly what had to be done. He brought in the tools and supplies he needed to do the job. He got started right away and within a few hours had the job completed. Very pleasant and professional. Great job. I had used Schuler two years ago to have my heater cleaned and prepared for winter. John was the technician and did a great job and I would recommend Schuler Services to my friends and neighbors for their plumbing or electrical needs.

Excellent service. The technician was here within an hour after my call for service. The young man was courteous and completed job to my satisfaction. The product was still under warranty so there was no charge for the call.

Valve was replaced. Plumber who came to do the work was very nice and professional. We discussed several options, because the water heater is older and will probably not last another year or two. After we discussed the options, he completed the work and it did not take too long to do the job. He also gave me a quote on replacing the main shut-off valve because it had a small drip, but he tightened the nut on the valve and it was fine after that. The quote was my idea just in case. Schuler Service is a little pricey, but they have set rates and you know you are getting a fair deal because everything has a price and they never deviate from that price list. There are no surprises. I only use Schuler Service for my plumbing needs. One last thing- if you are going to call them, be certain you will have the work done. They do have an $89 or so fee for coming out and looking at your issue if you do not elect to have them do the work. The fee is waived when they do the work.
