Description of Work: RVD has been our trash disposal contractor for several years. The price is high and has been going up each year. Billing devices like fuel cost adjustments(which have not followed the declines in energy costs) and recycle fees have been used to increase the total cost of the service. | |When a competing firm offered to proved the same service for 52% of the RVD cost, we could not resist making a change.

They always picked up The garbage however the timing was not consistent. Also. When ever we had to call the office, they acted very annoyed. Also I felt they were over priced.

The customer service at Raritan Valley Disposal is a VERY poor. We received a recorded call last Thursday (Feb, 13, 2014) that our trash would not be picked up due to the storm (this was understandable) and that pick up would be a day behind. It is now Monday and our trash and recyclables still have not been collected so I called the company. The representative that I spoke with said that collection would be done this Thursday (totally skipping our collection last week!). I asked about our recyclables which are collected every 2 weeks. I was told they would be collected on Feb. 27. This is FOUR WEEKS after our last collection. I stated that this was unacceptable because our recyclable containers were overflowing after 2 weeks and there was no way we could wait 2 more weeks to have them collected and that was NOT the service I was paying for. She asked me if I wanted to speak to a supervisor. I said yes and the line I was transferred to was a VOICEMAIL. When you have an angry customer with a complaint who needs to talk to a supervisor, you DO NOT connect them to a voicemail! I bet I never hear back from this "supervisor" and as I stated in my voicemal, if I do not, I will be taking my business elsewhere. They increase their prices every billing period anyway. It doesn't seem like much but if you look back, over a couple of years they DOUBLE the amount they charge. When I called last year to switch to another company because of the constant price increases they lowered my bill by over HALF. That shows how much they are overcharging!! The price increases are continuing each billing period and now this. Totally disgusted with this company!
