My neighbor used them a few years ago and she had many problems with them. Eventually the system worked, but I think it took 6 trips and 3 months to finally work. Needless to say, I was not going to consider them for my house, but I still looked them up and discovered that they had closed. So, I wanted to submit a report to alert Angie's List of this fact. However, I've heard that the owner has started a new company, Thompson Waterproofing. Is there any way to find this out for sure? I hope asking this is not violating the rules? Please feel to delete this section if it is.
Description of Work: There was no service done as the company has now gone out of business.

The pitch they gave me at first, they stated they would put in a double drain system. The prices was fair. Then I looked on the BBB and Angie's List and saw that they had many complaints. They keep calling and trying to pressure sell.
Description of Work: I needed an estimate to repair my basement.

After a ridiculous quote and strong-arm tactics used by another company, we gave these people a call hoping for something better. Unfortunately they pretty much do the same thing. They try to sell you on their "patented" techniques and give you an astronomical price hoping to lure in suckers willing to pay such outrageous prices ($12,000.00). If you decline, they constantly call you offering a second appraisal by a superior. If you want to impress people, impress them with honesty. Give them one price, take it or leave it. People know when they are getting ripped off. Calling them over and over again despite protests, doesn't make you look very good.

JES is probably the worst and most unethical vendor I have ever dealt with. The sales pitch and what was actually delivered could not have been more different. Work crews had no regard for the property in our house. Carpets were not properly covered and were badly soiled in several areas. Workers threw the molding they said would be "carefully preserved" so it could later be re-installed in a heap on our front walk-way in the rain. Upon completion of work on day # 2, the crew chief apologized for the way the crew had left things and for damage to the carpet, and agreed that JES would pay us for having all the basement carpets cleaned. Based on him putting this in writing I released full payment. When I subsequently submitted the bill to JES, I was told that the crew chief was not authorized to agree to this reimbursement, and JES refused to pay me the $253 I had incurred.
Description of Work: Basement waterproofing project which entailed installation of french drain system around the entire perimeter of the basement plus installation of two sump pumps and a dehumidifier.

The system was installed and our basement is just as damp as always. We have tried repeatedly to get the company to deal with the dampness issue and they have categorically stated that it is not their responsibility. They state that their system is designed to remove standing water and because we have no standing water, the system must be working. We never had standing water in the basement prior to the installation of the system so it is not a surprise that we do not have standing water now. We filed a report with the BBB to try to get them to install a dehumidifier at the very least, and they consistently state that there is nothing wrong with the system that they installed. Perhaps there IS nothing wrong with the system they installed. The problem is that we did not need the system that they sold us, which we had installed after their "professional analysis" stated that this system would dry out our basement.
Description of Work: We contracted with the company because we have a very damp basement. Their salesperson said that we needed a "Water Guard" drainage system, which involved underground piping and a sump pump. This is the system we had installed.
