He even before he got to know this employee of GC electrical company vandalized my car to the point it was considered it was totaled. I even recommended GC electrical company to my clients. Being in the construction industry and finding this out I would not recommend GC electrical contractors company knowing that on staff has a person who like to vandalize neighbors property where he lives on the west end of Allentown or I would not hire this company because of GC having a person who vandalizes peoples property

Description of Work: This is actually what was shown on the invoice: Install one Broan #353 gable fan behind existing gable louver on the left side of the upper attic. Install separate 15-amp circuit for the fan from the lower level breaker panel through the HVAC line-set chase from the crawl space to the lower attic. Install a switch in the 2nd floor hall closet to turn off the fan manually.

 + -1 moreThey came in and did some troubleshooting on the power to the air conditioning unit. They were able to rule out some things and the technician even tested the starting capacitor in the air conditioner and said he thought that might be the problem, but that he couldn't do the repair on the unit since he wasn't an HVAC contractor. It turned out that he was correct -- the capacitor was dead.
Description of Work: My air conditioner stopped running. I called a few HVAC places but all of them said it would be a few days before they could come. I thought the problem might be electrical so I called a couple of electrical contractors, including GC Electric. They initially told me it might be a day or two but then called back a while later and said they would fit me in at the end of the day.

 + 1 moreIt went extremely well. Everything was scheduled through Nathan who was great to work with. He provided all the estimates quickly, came to my house to look at the work, made suggestions, etc. etc. They came to my house four times. The first time I had six electricians replacing the switches/dimmers/outlets throughout the house, fixing anything that was not up to code, etc. The second time two of them, Josh and James, came to my house to install four ceiling fans. These guys are truly fantastic. They were superprofessional. They knew precisely what they were doing, how to get it done right, etc. etc. I was impressed with their work. The third time Josh came to replace all the wall-mounted outside lanterns. It went really well. The fourth time they replaced two attic fans. Again, excellent work. I will be hiring them again when I start adding outdoor lighting to the backyard/frontyard.
Description of Work: They did everything!!! They changed all the indoor/outdoor switches/outlets of the house (about 250 of them), checked the electric boxes, fixed the flood lights in the backyard, removed some dimmers that were not working properly, replaced all outdoor wall-mounted lanterns, replaced some wiring that was old, installed four ceiling fans, and fixed anything that was not up to code.

We called GC in a pinch, not only did they respond immediately, we were able to send them pics of what our issue was inside the meter box. GC was able to locate the part we needed and have a technician at the house within hours. They literally saved the day. I will recommend GC to anyone, very communicative in customer service, and work expectations.

For the service call, the electrician arrived a little early and finished within about an hour. Everyone was very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. Will definitely use GC Electric again for any electrical needs.
Description of Work: Converted four indoor ungrounded 2-wire outlets into GFI 3-wire outlets, converted one 2-wire extension outlet to 3-wire, and repaired one 3-way light switch.

 + 0 moreAll work is done on time; in the best possible way . Both men were very professional. Scheduleing was easy to work out; even with me adding to the job after it was started.
Description of Work: Bob and his partner came to the house atthe appointed time. They had the estimators description of the job; they checked with me right away and we determined that I had not included everything that I desired. After adding a few more upgrades to existing lighting circuits; we had the final list of all problems. The guys split up and one completely changed our 200 amp electrical service. The main panel had been water damaged, for years. Very labor intensive, and the labeling was not accurate. Bob basicly working by himself was putting in new circuits in the kitchen area, both lighting and power recepticles. Then, added better lighting in the basement in two zones, and in the workshop he got some florescents working again. The company installed a bathroom exhaust fan and a lighting fixture that I had previously purchased. But, the majority of items they provided in new boxes. Because of the amount of work to be done, they needed a second day to get to the basement lighting that I had added to the workorder. This was not on the original.

The electricians minimized any inconvenience to me as far as having to be without power. Cleaned up well when finished. Inspector spoke highly of this company and approved the work.
Description of Work: Replaced fuse box with a breaker box. Had to relocate to another area to pass code. Replaced junction for PPL hook up and also had to relocate at PPL's request. Relocated meter on outside of house to pass code.
