DS PAINTING

Derek and team have been to our house twice and soon a third time. Derek came the night we moved in and gave us a quote for some urgent work. The team fit us into the schedule and knocked out one large room and a fire place. The quality of work was AMAZING. They just came back and did our dining room, entry way and three other rooms. Will have them back again in spring to finish the remainder of the house. I highly recommend their services! PS - they also do deck staining and tile. Will be inquiring about that as well.

Derek was fantastic! He showed up on time to provide the estimate, and was very clear about his schedule and the estimated time for the job - and he stuck to it. Even finished a couple days early. His work was impeccable (and we had a lot that needed to be touched up before he could even paint!). He made our home look brand new, plus was tidy and cleaned up after the job. I would definitely recommend DS Painting!

Derek did a nice job painting the interior of house . He helped my husband move furniture around to allow for us both to continue working from our laptops as each room was painted. Derek showed up bright and early each day, and kept all promises and our personal requests. We have high cathedral ceilings and Derek had all the right equipment to do the job right. He cleaned up at the end of each day, and before the weekend, he fully cleaned up so we could enjoy our space for a few days. This was a 3 week job, so sharing our space for this duration of time could only happen with someone we trusted and could get along with. Even our dog Roxie got attached to Derek (LOL). Strongly recommend DS painting.

SHORT REVIEW: You couldn't ask for a better painter! 2nd job DS Painting did for us and we couldn't be more pleased! DETAILED REVIEW: Derek painted a room for us 8 years ago when we purchased an Angie's List deal for his company. We were so impressed with his work ethic, personality, and the quality of his work that we kept his name on file. We recently moved into an existing home that needed to be completely painted: ceilings, walls, and trim. We were out of Derek's normal service area but took a chance that he would accept the project since it was a whole house. He accepted...YAY! As expected, he and his coworker, Mike, were AMAZING. Every surface of our home was covered with a drop cloth or plastic (cabinets); every outlet cover and register removed; every doorknob, hinge, and light fixture taped or covered so paint would not get on them. We gave Derek a key to the house and stayed out of his way. We were so pleased with the progress. We found out that Derek does tile work, so we asked him to also add a tile backsplash in our kitchen. That turned out great as well. The only evidence that they were even there was the BEAUTIFUL paint and backsplash: They cleaned everything up and even vacuumed the floors before they left. I will be saving up and trying to get enough work together to convince Derek to come out to us one more time for bathroom tile and anything else that he does. Honestly the best contractor (painting or otherwise) that I have had the pleasure of working with. Thank you, Derek and Mike!

Worst painters ever. Sloppy, messy, dust everywhere. Fired them halfway through and had a professional complete the work. This is the first time Angie's has completely failed me. Can't begin to imagine how this lame company got so many favorable reviews here.

Derek and his employee did a great job. I had it advised him I wanted my front door painted in addition to the shutters until he arrived. He was able to squeeze it in and it made the greatest visual difference!

I am what you say is a tough customer Derek answered every one of my questions and tended to everyone of my needs as they came up throughout the job did tons of extra stuff for me and handled every problem as they came up would definitely hire him again a true professional

Derek is exactly what you hope for when hiring a painter. As shown in the attached picture, his work is extremely high quality - crisp straight lines including the stripe, no spill over on the trim or ceiling, spackled all areas in need of repair, and he even took the initiative to sand all the walls before painting (something we didn’t discuss beforehand). All the logistics of the job were perfect (prompt responses to questions, arrived on time both days, left the room completely clean) and he had a personable, professional attitude. The nursery turned out just as we had envisioned, and we’ll definitely be using DS Painting for other rooms in the future.

Derek and his team did an excellent job. They started and finished the job on time. They were professional and easy to work with. We will definitely be using Derek again for interior and exterior work.

contractor never contacted me so I can not give a full review

I hired DS Painting to scrape, sand, prime and paint my exterior window trim. They were very professional, respectful and on time everyday. They did a great job and I will be using them for my future painting needs.

We initially contacted Derek in the spring of 2018. He immediately provided us with a thorough proposal for the work we required. We made numerous changes to the painting work we desired and also to our schedule for performing the job. In every instance, we received a rapid and complete response to our request. Derek's bid was very competitive with 3 other bids from highly rated competitors. We finally initiated the project in late January of this year (2019). Derek arrived promptly every day including during some challenging weather. He communicated clearly with us during the course of the project and his concern for our complete satisfaction was always evident. The end result of his efforts are reflected in our complete satisfaction. As described earlier, Derek was very easy to work with and exhibited a high level of professionalism. We recommend him highly.

When I first moved into my new home, I wasn't too impressed with the standard builder white color that was in here, so I used Angie's List to hire someone to paint a majority of my home. I had gone through at least 5 different painting companies, and DS Painting by far offered the best price out of everyone! Derek and Dana were great to work with! They showed up early in the morning and worked a full day every day. Plenty of drop cloths and plastic were used to protect my floors, carpets, and furniture. There was a decent amount of prep work with spackling, caulking, and sanding that they easily handled. For the whole project, they used high quality Sherwin Williams paints. I have to say that with their skill and great attention to detail, they completely transformed my home into something beautiful! I wish I could attach pictures so you could see the phenomenal work that they did! After the painting was done, they did a great job cleaning up and moving my things back. I also forgot to mention that they completed this in 5 days! I cannot thank Derek and Dana enough for the top quality work that they had done this past week. I know that I would have never come close if I tried painting myself. Without a doubt in my mind, I will use DS Painting again when given the opportunity. I HIGHLY recommend using them if you're in need of interior painting!

Derrick & his brother were friendly, warm, hardworking. The job was done quickly and quality workmanship. I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to others. I had over 5 estimates and they came in the lowest with the quickest turnaround!

The project went very, very well. I am extremely happy with finished work. It is very hard to find good, reliable, efficient contractors. Derek and Dana fill all of those attributes. It was a pleasure working with them. I will definitely hire them again.

Derek and his brother worked tirelessly and exceptionally well to paint the inside of our new construction home. We had a tight deadline between closing and the moving truck arriving, and they not only worked fast but did a phenomenal job, even correcting some of the painting mistakes that the builder made. I was highly impressed at Derek's ability to cut in - by hand and without tape - entire sections of walls, even while on a ladder. Derek was professional, responded promptly to all texts/emails, and is also a really down-to-earth hard-working guy. I highly recommend him for any painting needs, and will be bringing him back to paint our garage in a few months once we settle in.

Derek and Dan were wonderful, and their work is flawless. They were on time both days and cleaned up extremely well, even though I told them some of the cleanup wasn't necessary as the move into the house just occurred 1 - 2 days before painting and there were still a ton of boxes to be unpacked. There were many contractors in and out on day 1, and Derek and Dan worked around them wonderfully. Thanks for the great work, guys.

Derek and his brother were extremely professional. They did an excellent job with painting our rooms. Communication before the job went well. They did a good job cleaning up after themselves. Painting job looks very good. Would definitely hire again over any other painting company.

We are extremely pleased with the job done at a very reasonable price. Both Derek and Dana worked very hard every day. They did an A+ job with prep work and completing the paint job in accordance with our wishes. They were courteous and cleaned up everything before they left each day. These guys are good. Contacted through Angles list late on a Friday. Derek called me on Sunday evening. Wasnt expecting a return call until Monday. I explained what I needed and he asked if he could come out to look at the job and do an estimate. He showed up at the arranged time and said to give him a couple days for the estimate. I had set parameters for when I needed the job done and said the only way I could hire him if it was done prior to that date. I received the estimate and he was able to fit me into his schedule. He showed up exactly when he said he would. Told me it would be a two-day job. As soon as they showed up, they got right to work, explaining to me what he planned on doing. I was at work while he was doing the job while my son stayed here to supervise the house. Derek and his crew went above and beyond patching some of the dings I had in the wall prior to painting. I was very happy with the first day results. They showed up on time again on the second day and my son texted me to let me know that they were done by noon. As most married men know, as long as the wife is happy it's all good. She was extremely pleased as was I when I saw the results. I would definitely hire DS painting again.

Great! Derek and his associate were far more thorough and meticulous than I asked them to be. i.e. "It's just a garage". The job they turned out was fully fitting to be a living space. I don't think they know how to do a half-baked job! First class all around. They were punctual, careful, clean, easy to work with, and just all-around nice guys. Highly recommended.

It went very well. Painters arrived when they said they would, did excellent work and were finished ahead of schedule. I would hire them again.
