The highlights of their work are basically as follows: - Extreme attention to detail - High degree of professionalism - Great communication and service to their client Putting those three elements together we have avoided having one pulled over on us by the insurance industry. Everybody out there who does fire and water loss restoration wanted a piece of our large insurance claim, especially in this tough economy. Since the insurance company is paying, it is seen as easy money for contractors etc.. We decided to go out of state for what we saw as the best overall and complete service. And we are glad we did. The original estimate of the loss (for the building only) from our insurance company for the home was approximately $280,000. If we had not hired an independent company to represent our interests, this is exactly how much money would have been given to us by the insurance company. Cityline's attention to detail and hard work lead to their own independent estimate. By being more specific on countless details and by following strict adherence to local codes in the city of Evanston it was determined that the actual value of the loss was over $550,000. If we had not hired Cityline, we would be struggling to rebuild our home with a little more than half of the actual money required to do the work. I don't think we can ever accurately describe in words the relief we feel after having been taken care of so well by a company. I think perhaps the best summary of what they have done for us is stated in a simple 3 word phrase: Peace of Mind!
Description of Work: On March 2, 2009 we had a very large fire which destroyed nearly our entire home. As a result there was an insurance claim with Erie Insurance for our 2 unit home in Evanston IL. As we would later learn, this fire would be categorized as a "large loss" and from the moment we arrived on the scene to meet the police and fire departments, different companies who specialize in the resources needed to take care of fire loss began approaching us to take a piece of the insurance money. Over the next several days we received unsolicited offers for services from nearly 15 companies ranging from board-up services to clothing restoration, fire and water loss restoration, and public adjusters. It was all too overwhelming and intimidating after just having lost our home and nearly everything in it. As a result we sought advice from family and friends. Cityline Construction of Allentown was referred to me by a family member from my hometown in Pennsylvania. As it turns out Cityline specializes in Fire and Water Damage Restoration. At first they were contacted just to do the initial damage estimate. After we witnessed the high level of detail to their work and professional attitude we decided to ask them if they would consider taking on the entire job from start to finish. Cityline agreed and began the work. The job consisted of the following duties - nearly all of which have been covered by the insurance company. - Fire Damage Loss estimate (Performed by Kirk Leister - Owner/Partner) - Personal Contents Inventory - Alternative Living Expense Arrangements (Dealt with by Tom Williams - Owner/Partner) - Contact with the insurance company in order to "adjust" the loss (Kirk Leister and Tom Williams) - Arrangement of all local contractors including architects, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Roofing, Landscaping, Carpentry & Flooring etc., as well as all city officials including zoning, city planning and codes enforcement, county tax officials etc. - Construction from start to finish and much more.... Cityline receives its compensation from our insurance company. The total loss on our home is now approaching $800,000. Cityline has taken care of everything. Many companies offer to take care of one or two pieces of work and then ask for a percentage or part of the insurance money, after which the homeowner is left to find another contractor or service provider for the next phase. Cityline, however, is capable and was willing and able to take care of all aspects of our claim from start to finish. In our experience, that is a rare find.
