My husband and I bought a refrigerator, microwave, oven and stove top from Allentown appliance. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a wonderful Christmas gift to our home has turned into a never ending run around. Our oven and microwave were installed, but the installation men had to cut out a piece of wood from our cabinet in order to make our new model appliances fit properly. The order arrived December 8th, 2023. We are now in a new year and we are still waiting for the metal distributor to fill the gaping hole left in our cabinet. Additionally, we received a dishwasher with a dented door. We are currently waiting for the door to be replaced. Our stove top never got installed, because the wrong stove top was sent to us, due to inaccurate measurements. So far, I am terribly disillusioned with this company and even more disillusioned by their sales person. I have asked the salesperson who made this $6,000 sale to keep my husband and I posted regarding when the stove top will be coming in. Or, to give us courtesy weekly updates regarding the metal fabricators status, pertaining to the installation of the metal piece that needs to cover the hole in our cabinet! After making a $6,000. 00 sale this is the least they can do. Let me say this, every communication has been initiated by me. Every phone call regarding finding out when we might look forward to receiving the stove top we paid for has also been made by me. Here is the corker, apparently Allentown Appliance works with a two man shop fabricator and their customers are at the “MERCY” of this company regarding filling these orders. The salesperson suggested I find my own metal fabricator in my area to see if they can fabricate the needed piece faster! Now, does this sound like a feasible solution? I am the customer…Hello! They were quick to take our money, now it is companies responsibility to do the leg work! Period! Oh, and if that wasn’t enough; this morning, 1/3/2023, I spent an eternity struggling in the phone struggling with GE. They needed to come over to check the damaged dishwasher door we received. NOT GE’s fault. It’s Allentown Appliance fault for sending a damaged dishwasher door. I can go on but…I will leave the rest of this rotten story here. The ONU thing I am going to say, is…it amazes me how people want to make a sale…but they sure don’t follow through with making sure the customer is happy when things go wrong! Not good business!

we ordered a refrigerator; we understood there were delays due to COVID. We we ordered in August and were initially told October. We knew it could be delayed further, but there was no follow-up. I had to call the sales person twice in order to get him to call me back. He finally did, saying it was now scheduled for deliver in mid-November. Well, this time frame came and went and still no merchandise and no follow-up. I did manage to speak to their staff - a woman who was rude, argumentative, and actually downright nasty. We are so discouraged, because we wanted to support a local business in our community. We have never been treated so shabbily. I would also like to add that we paid for the refrigerator in full. They did give us a loaner, which is appropriate given the time it will take to receive it. But we have never received a call from them giving us a revised timing. And even if they have nothing to report, at least a phone call following up saying that they haven't forgotten about us and that they are working on it. Basic customer service would be really appreciated here. We are discouraged. I cannot rate the product since we have not yet received it, but we are really upset.

Description of Work: Purchased an Electrolux Dishwasher. It failed after approximately 6 weeks service and needed 60% of internal parts replaced. We were without a dishwasher for several weeks. Allentown Appliance was professional and as helpful as they could be, however we could not get a replacement due to Electrolux's policies. Our beef is mainly with Electrolux. Would not buy another appliance with that brand name.

Shopped on a Saturday, they are open 10-3. They were very busy and all the sales people were with other clients. They had a greeter let me know this and she offered me coffee and cookies until someone was free which I thought was very nice. I walked around and looked at other appliances but was there for a new dryer. The greeter let me know the one I had read about in Consumer Reports, an LG, was not in stock but they could order it. While I was waiting for a salesperson I found a similar model in my price range and used my smart phone to do research on the model, a GE. Previous experience with GE was very good, and the online reviews on several sites gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars so I bought the GE dryer they had in stock. They called on the following Monday and the dryer was delivered on Wednesday. The delivery crew were nice and polite and took away my old dryer. Everything was great.

Description of Work: The sales department is first class and worked with us to find the dishwasher we wanted. The scheduling and reminder of the day the installation was easy and the person I dealt with was professional and pleasant. The delivery and installation went flawlessly. Everything was EXCELLENT , every step of the way ! I was in the market for a dishwasher and doing comparison's , so I had my favorite models narrowed down. It was IN STOCK. I must point out, I am a REPEAT customer, because product knowledge, by a factory authorized dealer is important. A manufacturer of appliances, endorses those Appliance Stores that represent themselves and the Manufacturer to STRICT standards of ethics. If they are unethical, such businesses do NOT have any affiliation with manufacturers ( as such, product WARRANTIES DO NOT APPLY, because the business is NOT AUTHORIZED ) ! The Allentown Appliance Showroom Staff is very knowledgeable about their industry, as professionals. Their staffing of employee's is more then just a boss and two grunts deliverying appliances , ( screening of phone calls, during business hours ) you will find no suspicious behavior at this company ! All my appliances bought from A.A., has been excellent, with no problems of any kind. My experiences in the past are not any different then this experience. My dishwasher was delivered as promised, by the same gentlemen that installed my Jenn Air range. Installation , was quick , efficient with proficiency. Not a surprise, just simply what you would expect from a " Authorized Dealer " with a stellar performance each time and every time, from START to FINISH ! Just awesome !

The Range and hood were promptly gotten and installed in a timely manner. No excuses. The staff answers their phone calls IMMEDIATELY. The showroom is immaculant, appliances are presented in a well illuminated showroom, very vibrant appearance and impressive attention to detail. Their is AMPLE off street parking too, which means, you do not feel rushed to make a purchase, which is a big tag item. You will not be subject to parking tickets, as you would, if you you patronized merchants on Hamilton St. . Over all, the purchase, delivery and installation are all worthy of a grade of : " A "
Description of Work: On 7/24/12, I purchased a Jenn Air Range, Broan Elite Hood and Custom made splash guard. I PAID a nominal fee for a feasibility inspection ( to see if duct work could be run in the home, for air exhaust duct work ). The staff ask's if you have any questions, very professional. They have a EXCELLENT selection, second to NONE, ( which would include SEARS too ) ! They also have computerized system and tell you straight up: if the items is IN STOCK or had to be ORDERED. Receipts state the RETURN POLICY ( as a customer this means you know exactly what your rights are ). I have not had any problems with any of my purchased items, to this very day. I have also purchased a KitchenAid Microwave Oven on 8/30/12, I purchased the item and took it home ( counter top model ). The salesman took it out to the car for me with the same smile and professionalism, then of my larger purchase on 08/17/12. The experience with Allentown Appliance was wonderful. I first went in and looked around and the salesman was very helpful when I was not thrilled with my options since I was looking to stay within a smaller budget. He then suggested models of Whirlpool appliances that were not on the floor but would meet my needs at a lower cost. He did comparison prices with the big box stores in the area and discovered a lower price on the dishwasher I was considering. The store price matched the lower price. The other two prices (refrigerator and stove) were lower than the competition. He also made sure to tell me about rebates available on two of the items and that there was a rebate through PPL on the fridge. I didn't decide right away but stopped back in the store about a week later when I saw that they had an advertised anniversary sale. I signed for the appliances that night since he was able to offer me early Black Friday sale prices in addition to the 15% anniversary sale discount saving me an additional 250 dollars + over what I was originally quoted. Within a week I had my appliances installed. The workman were courteous and professional and took care not to damage the new floors I had just had installed. The salesman arranged for my stove hood to be installed for a lower cost and the door on the fridge to be reversed without any additional charge. I had a whole new kitchen in time for Thanksgiving. The anchor for the stove could not be installed on the date of delivery because the guys didn't have the right equipment. I followed their instructions and called the store to have it done on the next business day. Everything was taken care of with no fuss. I highly recommend Allentown Appliance and will definitely go back for any new items I need in the future. I like to work with locally owned businesses. They care about their reputations in a way the big box stores don't and it shows!

I purchased a gas dryer from this business. They price matched the dryer to other sales. They were curtious and knowledgeable. Their delivery men had EVERYTHING needed for the installation. In the past I had purchased a dryer from a different business and when it was delivered the delivery men did not connect the dryer vent or change the gas line connection. Allentown Appliance did a wonderful job.
