The ceiling fan was fixed and the oven was not but not for lack of trying. The workman was very upfront and honest with me and helpful with suggestions.

We are renovating our kitchen which includes replacing the mounted television and cabling and replacing a number of the cabinet doors. This job was definitely harder than it sounds. Ray had to come to our home on two separate occasions both before and after the counter tops were replaced. Ray is definitely a problem solver. That is especially important when working on a house that is almost 100 years old. Ray is professional, courteous and gets the job done.

We had a sump pump failure on the eve of a big storm. We called Ray early in the morning and he came over within the hour. He showed up on time, was very friendly and professional. Ray quickly assessed the situation and discussed the solution with me. Ray went out to get a new sump pump, returned quickly and completed the job fast. He was able to do a quality job despite the endless questions from my 4 year old son who was on standby with his fisher-price wrench in case Ray needed any help : ) I was very pleased with Ray's work and would highly recommend him to others in the area looking for handy man work.

Ray was punctual, knowledgeable and fair. I've used his services more than once and have always been happy!

Called 2 different days and left messages. Provider returned neither call. I may try him again in the future, based on all his good reviews. Maybe he was having phone issues or something? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but I wish someone would have at least returned a call. UPDATE: I read Mr. Garvin's review. When I called, both times, I left the message on his voicemail that the work was to be done in Warminster, PA.

Ray Garvin was a pleasure to work with! Extremely responsive, very nice and did the work quickly and very cheaply. I will definitely be using Ray again for various plumbing and handyman needs! Ray is a true gentleman who does great work. He promptly responded to my call and was very punctual. While working at my house, he identified a problem with the toilet and took care of fixing it, as well. He was not interested in tackling several other projects, e.g., replacing a small deck and two storm doors, and I appreciated his honesty. Very trustworthy -- I had no hesitation about going off to work and leaving him in my house.

I needed to have a mail box post replaced due to an older mail box post falling down I called Ray on July 24,2013 and left a message on his voice mail.He returned my call about 2 hours later. I explained what I needed to be done and Ray asked if I wanted to get the materials needed or he could get the materials and I would pay him for the supplies.I have dealt with Ray before and trusted his judgement and I opted for him to get the needed materials. An appointment was set up for July 26,2013 for the job to be done. Ray arrived promptly on the day of work and finished the job in a timely fashion.The finished job was excellent and Ray did whatever clean-up was needed. Total satisfaction on my part.

Ray was great - he actually was at our house early, but I noticed he waited in the car a couple minutes until the exact time we agreed on - great to see somebody not only be punctual but respectful of others time. He works quickly and clean, is very experienced clearly knows what he's doing - and is a heck of a nice guy as well! I'd highly recommend Ray if you are in the Abington area and need some work done around the house. I plan on using him as our go-to in the future.

Great- Ray shows up on time or early, gets the job done neatly and professionally, always calls back to let me know his schedule. I will definitely use him in the future for all my handyman needs!

Ray can over on time and proceeded to assemble the kitchen shelving tower as I was physically unable to do this. He was able to complete the assembly in about 40 minutes or less and I was very satisfied with his work and will call upon him again in the future if I need work done.

Nothing happened since no return call

I called up Ray to see if he could help with some floor repair in our sunroom. The scope of the job was bigger than he was able to manage as an individual - but he called me back promptly and was very professional throughout our communication. I would absolutely call Ray back for more handy tasks!

The service was very positive. Mr. Garvin was skilled , concientious and very pleasant. I found out that he also does plumbing . I will certainly use this service again and recommend Mr.Garvin to my friends.

Ray is a "handyman" extraordinaire. He is a perfectionist who puts quality first. He will take the time to do an excellent job as opposed to an acceptable job. For example, he discovered that I had no ductwork leading to a bedroom which I used as an office. He devised a way to install new duct work and rerout old ductwork to make my heating and air conditioning much more efficient and cost effective. He has also installed a high efficiency water heater and rerouted water pipes to save water by bringing hot water more quickly to my kitchen sink and bathroom shower and tub. He quickly and cleanly removed a wall between my dining room and kitchen to give me more kitchen space. He has started installing commerical level electrical outlets in my house, while spackling cracks and painting wood trim. Ray is meticulous in cleaning up all his work areas. He vacuums and puts trash in a trash bag. He is a gem.

Replaced the lights as requested. Could not fix the doorbell -- hard a hard time location where the unit was (it was in a crawl space) so he replaced the button and said he'd quote me for the doorbell. He performed the work, but spent a good deal of time chatting, which I ended up paying for. I also asked him about installing recessed lights, which he was willing to do, but he indicated he'd have to rip my ceiling apart to do it. I was put off by that and decided to hire an electrician instead.

The outdoor vent for my clothes dryer was over 12 years old and made of deteriorating plastic with broken Louvers. I ordered a sturdy metal replacement online and attempted the replacement myself. Unfortunately I lacked the skill necessary to do so, as it was not a simple project in this situation. I had used Ray's services in the past so I called him for help. Ray returned the call promptly and worked with me to arrange a time best for both of us. Ray arrived on time, assessed the project, and arrived at a feasible solution. Even though he had to get dusty wriggling under a sink to do so, Ray succeeded in removing and replacing broken ductwork and connected the new vent. This was done with a smile and in a short amount of time. Ray is a pleasure to work with and I will call him again in future.

When my kitchen sink separated from the counter, I couldn't find anyone who wanted to take the job, or who wouldn't charge me an arm and a leg. Ray came to the rescue! He was terrific - fixed it correctly (better than it had been installed the first time), and charged me a reasonable fee. He was pleasant, polite, professional, and extremely competent. I highly recommend Ray Garvin!

He was very accomodating to my need to get the work done as quickly as possible and scheduled me in between his other appointments. He had to come out twice because the initial switch that he had did not correspond to the ceiling fan and I had to get a light kit. He was very professional and kept the area clean. I would use him again in the future for other work in my home.

Ray returned my call promptly and fit me into his schedule the next day. He replaced a broken tub spout - he asked me detailed questions regarding what type of spout I would like and then he picked up the replacement for me. He was great - very professional and very friendly! I'm happy I found him and would definitely use him again!

Ray returned my calls promptly & then came out to see all of my many projects within a week. Ray even went & picked up a french door that was replacing another door for me at Home Depot, plus picked up other items he needed to complete other projects at my house. He showed up on time (was actually early, which I never experienced from a contractor before!) was at my home for 3+ days completeing all of the projects, never left a mess & the house was clean & neat. He even ran the vacum when he was finished. Had a problem with replacing a shower control & came up with a way to make it work properly instead of just telling me it wouldn't work His hourly rate is very reasonable & he doesn't waste time .I give Ray an A+++, he did a great job & I will definitely use him in the future! Thanks Ray for all your hard work in getting my "honey to do" projects complete before my son's graduation.

I was requesting a quick turnaround for the job , and Mr. Garvin was very accommodating. He showed right on time; explained what he would do; did an excellent job; and charged a very fair price for it. He was also very professional and courteous, and I would highly recommend him.
