Description of Work: They painted a bedroom for me. It was a terrible job. They half painted the woodwork. They got paint on the trim of the outside of the room and on my carpet. They roughed up the doors that were smooth when they started. They missed the ceiling. I called they were nice and came back to fix the job. When they came back to fix the job, they got paint all over my vinyl windows. They put digs in my walls that they didn't fix. Still only half painted the wood work. They fixed the ceiling, however, the walls look awful and they never got the paint off he carpet and this time they got paint on my furniture. When I called again they wanted a third attempt to fix it. I was afraid to see what would happen after the third time. They told me how much I owed and I paid them. They did give me a discount on the price. However, I will need to pay someone else to sand the doors, get the paint off the windows and repaint the room and now the hallway where they got paint.

Description of Work: Painted exterior of the home as well as entire interior. They came out on 2 separate occasions to complete the work. We had a crew paint the exterior and 3 large rooms on the interior and they were timely and professional, friendly, and clean. They took into account that I have 2 small children and 2 dogs. We were so pleased that we had another crew back to finish painting the rest of the interior. This crew was friendly and professional as well but not quite as neat.

+ -1 moreThey sent out 3 men. There was one of the guys that did an ok job and was polite. There was paint coming away from a brick wall. The young man was rude, and I told him that he needed to chip the paint off of the wall before painting, and he painted right over the chip paint in front of me. I had scraped paint off with my finger nails with no effort after they were completed with the job. I will have to hire another painting company to repaint. There are paint drips on my house, and they also messed up my entry way. They wanted $900 up front, and I told him that they better do the job over again, and he just left.

+ -1 moreThis report pertains only to the CertaPro Oreland office; there are other area franchises that may operate entirely differently. Unfortunately, our experience with this particular franchise was quite poor. There were multiple problems such as: various surfaces only partially painted, flat paint used in moisture-producing rooms such as kitchen and bath, poorly-covered areas, "fixed" by company using glossy paint which looked terrible, and which they refused to do more than spot-cover (I had to paint two ceilings over myself); paint/plaster-like material left all over light switches, baseboards, tile, and fixtures; poor care of newly-finished oak floors (I had to argue with the crew to use tarps!), irreparable damage to large window treatment and sliding shower doors about which we were not informed, noisy, cigarette-smoking work crew disturbing neighbors. I could go on, but I'm running out of room. Their price was cheaper than others, but in this case I'm afraid we got what we paid for.

I was particularly impressed with Mike who not only promptly handled the punch-list, but saw another area that needed touch-up that we did not notice, and volunteered to return with a higher ladder - and did!
