ALWAYS IN SERVICE

Description of Work: The door wouldn't close. They said I could put the cost of the visit and repair to a new door if it didn't last 30 days. It didn't last 30 minutes. Then they wanted to charge me over $800 for a new garage door opener. Take a couple hundred dollars, ball them up and toss them out the window. It's more satisfying than my experience.

Description of Work: We had our locks changed and in the process found out this company replaces windows and even garage doors. We were very pleased with the locksmith that was sent to our home. He was punctual, efficient, and very knowledgable. We were very impressed and when we discovered the many services this company offers we had this same gentleman give us a price for replacing some windows. Very competitive prices and prompt service.

Description of Work: The garage door opener would not work. To close the door you had to disengage the door from the motor and manually close it. I called the first repair service in the book who answered the phone. I was told it would cost $279 plus tax to fix it, I asked what if the motor was blown, he said I could apply the cost of the fix to the replacement of the opener if within 30 days. He came when promised. Spent less than 5 minutes in my garage, he sprayed the springs, connected the door back to the motor and closed it. I asked if that was all there was to it. He said if something goes wrong in 30 days, call them back and they will repair it for free or apply the payment to the cost of a replacement opener. 20 minutes after he left I tried to open the door. It wouldn't open. I called them back. He said they were to busy to come back, we waited a week. Finally he came and said I need a new opener.. the cheapest would cost "about $800". I told him that was a lot but if that's the best I could do then we'd have to do it. He wouldn't apply my $279 to the replacement so I told him to just fix it since the repair is under he 30 days. He wanted to come back late but then that date would have been after the 30 days and I would have to pay another $279 for the repair. I told him to leave. I called another company and got a new opener for $350. I fought the charge with my credit card company for the past 8 months. They couldn't help me because the company said they did repair it the first day and that I must have done something to it. I canceled my credit card and joined angie's list just so i can warn others on a fixed income that there are honest companies out there but not this one.

Description of Work: When I called I was told there was a $40 service call charge which I approved-plus parts and labor after the problem was diagnosed on site. Garage door was binding causing the automatic opener to malfunction.
