I received 5 bids for re-roofing my house, and based upon reviews I read on Angie's list I decided to hire Royce Roofing. The job was supervised by Ray and he was very easy to work with and responsive to my questions and concerns. After the tearoff, his crew discovered some spots where the plywood sheathing needed to be replaced, which they did. They recommended an ice/water barrier product for the roof edges, which they applied in addition to the regular roofing underlayment product on the remainder of the roof. I'm glad I had them add that as it will protect those areas of the roof that are prone to ice and water damage over time. Job was completed in about 4 1/2 days and the new roof looks great. They also did a great job of cleaning up at the end of each day and at the end of job, they did a very thorough cleanup in yard areas and everywhere else for old nails and debris. I would highly recommend Royce Roofing to anyone looking to replace an existing roof or for roof repairs.

Submitted request for quote on roof cleaning, Moss treatment and gutter replacement around the end of August — got absolutely no response.

I would highly recommend Royce Roofing. I put out request for bids to about 5 roofers. Royce wasn't the cheapest, but they were far from the most expensive. From the get go I had a positive experience. They were the only one that got up on the roof, took photos that they sent me and discussed the problems they saw. They were also the only ones that inspected the gutters that desperately need to be replaced. In going from cedar shakes to composite it required sheeting the roof. I liked how Royce chose to use a better material from the get go. They they quoted me for using CDX plywood for sheeting the roof. Other companies quoted for OSB and had an up charge for plywood. This is a rental house and I live 60 miles away. I worked with Ray on this project and he was pleasure to work with. He was responsive, was there on time for appointments, and worked well keeping me in the loop with texts and email on the progress and last minute decisions that needed to be made. Most contractors could learn from Ray how to treat a client. As for the work. It was done quickly and was done professionally. I really appreciated the small details. They spray painted all the pipe flashing and chimney flashing black to better match the shingle color. I also had them install new gutters which were done very well. I really liked the mounting system they used on the gutters. And at the end they did a great job cleaning up all the debris from the tear off. Ray, thanks for the great work, I hope I can talk you into coming to Eugene to do the roof on my main house this summer.

Royce Roofing was recommended to me by a friend. I did, however, get a total of five estimates and decided to go with RR. I worked with Ray for the estimate and then the choices -- I did this in the summer, the busiest season, and it was a little difficult to get our schedules to match up at first but once we got going, we were fine. I did not get immediate responses, but my communications were always answered the same or next day. They did a bunch of things I didn't ask for as a regular part of the job. They cleaned the gutters, replaced flashing, retrieved all the tennis balls and dog toys (don't ask), and other things. I had both my roof and my skylights replaced. My house gets pretty warm in the summer and I thought it would help if we had skylights that opened so that was a bit of an upgrade. Price-wise, even with the skylights, they came in a bit under the next bid. My roof is steep on one side, and one fella wouldn't even climb up to look at it. He just kept repeating how steep my roof is -- but we're on a hill, and if you climb up from the back, it's a regular two-story house. I uploaded pictures of my house and tried all different colors but in the end I went with black and it looks great. I can't say enough nice things about the team -- they were punctual, friendly, and cleaned up after themselves, not just at the end but every day before they left. I was so happy with them that I added an extra $100 so he could get them breakfast or a catered lunch. Really a great group of guys. Oh, and Ray installed my weathervane for me. No extra charge.

I have an older 2-story house that had four layers of old shingles that had to be removed. Ray and his team did an outstanding job from start to finish. The cleanup after so much old-roof debris was very thorough. I especially wanted my lawn and shrub beds to be protected and after the cleanup everything was left without any damage. I've already mowed the lawn twice since the job and haven't even found one stray nail! Ray answered all my questions and addressed any concerns promptly. I wasn't looking forward to the whole process of getting a new roof, but Royce Roofing made it as painless as possible. Shingles used: CertainTeed Landmark "Georgetown Gray"

The last roof put on my house was done incorrectly so I had water intrusion in all of the valleys. The project manager Ray Morales made sure that the crew didn't rush through the job so that everything was done correctly. The project went very well - in spite of the weather. Margarito Morales visited the building site and instilled confidence in us that he understood the job and had knowledge of metal roofing. We also needed the work done quickly. Snow and freezing weather hampered roofing efforts, but Margarito kept in touch with us almost on a daily basis. Once we got a break in the winter weather, Margarito and his roofing crew installed the roof - in one day. All day it rained, but the crew continued and competed the roof. The crew was courteous and professional. We would absolutely use them with future projects.

Because of the size and complexity of our roof, the job took a full 4 days. Ray bid our job and was the on-site supervisor for the entire time. He was very responsive and professional - gracious in answering my many questions. The entire crew was courteous and meticulous about doing the job and cleaning up at the end of each day. The job came out beautiful and added significant value to our home. I could not have asked for a better outcome.

I used Royce Roofing after having several other contractor inspect and bid on replacing the asphalt shingles on my roof. Ray was the project manager and provided a very thorough and reasonably priced estimate for replacing my roof, and was the only contractor who took pictures of the existing roofing and problems around the chimney and gutters. I had requested replacing the flashing around my chimney as well as installing 2 vents for the bathroom fans, and these were separately priced in the bid. Royce roofing started work within one week of giving me the bid and completed the project in two days! Ray and his crew worked as a team, with two men replacing the new water sealer and paper while the others removed the old shingles. They installed everything on the list and in addition, secured and repaired the gutters. When I began looking for a contractor to replace my roof, I used Angie's list to help me evaluate Royce Roofing and I wanted others to know of the superb work that Royce Roofing provided for me. Excellent work and service. Ray (owner) was prompt in his communication and invested in the job, ensuring that it was done correctly. Extra details like a sagging corner were handled very well. The new gutters work perfectly, Highly recommended. Had two other bids and went with Royce after seeing work done on neighbors and talking to them about cost and results.

It went really well. They really took their time and made sure the job was done correctly. They made sure that everything was left clean from debri.

First off I wanted to say that Ray was by far the fastest quote I received from the 7 quotes I got or had signed up to get quotes from. I called before they opened and left a voice mail stating what I wanted. It wasn't long after they opened I received a call from Ray asking for my address and saying he would fit me in that afternoon which was pretty awesome in my book! I did not like how other roofers put me on up to a 3 week quote list I feel like that is just crazy! Any who I received my quote that evening via Email, his quote fell in the lower middle of what I had been quoted by others which was a main reason why I chose Royce his quote included everything the big name guys Jensen exteriors and Valley included except the new synthetic under lay that replaces the 30lb felt that has been tried and true for decades. I asked Ray about that and he was straight up with me and said he doesn't openly offer that new under lay due to it being so new and not knowing the true longevity of it which I agreed with. Day one of the roofing tear off was crazy to me Ray's crew is crazy fast!!!!! My house is a single story 1500 sq ft house with multiple peaks I left for work with a old roof and came home to a tore off, re felted and partially shingled. Day 2 they had replaced my facia board and only had a very small section left Day 3 they finished in about an hour Day 4 fell on a Friday and that is when they did my gutters and downspouts. I have been very happy with the job they did I only had 2 small hiccups with the whole job 1st was the crew almost missed a piece of plywood that needed replacing on eve. The second was from the gutter crew leaving a fair amount of staples on my back patio I cleaned them up and sent pictures to Ray to let him know he came out the next night and apologized multiple times and said his crew forgot which I believe because no where else did I find staples. I won't judge his work off the mess lifted on the back I perform work myself that I have the possibility to leave behind a mess and would hate to be judged on my work by accidentally forgetting to pick up a few things. So after this very long review I would give my overall experience with Royce Roofing a 4.5 out of 5 I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family. The reason I didn't give them 5 out of 5 was that piece of plywood that I pointed out to them but again a honest mistake and it was fixed I hope my review helps you choose Ray and his crew thanks!
