C Corey Jones Painting

I contacted three painters through Angie's List and two more from other sources. Corey was the only one who said he could do the job this year. I had just installed Hardieplank siding on my 1,100 square-foot, single story home and had completed most of the prep work for painting. Corey drove down from Woodburn the day after I called him and gave me an estimate for labor and materials. He said he could start the job in the middle of the next week and complete it in one day. Bad weather kept me from finishing the caulking on schedule, so Corey provided me with an assistant for a half day. The next day, Corey bought the paint while I finished the last bit of caulking and his two-man crew began the masking. By 5 PM, they had finished painting the house, doors, and trim with two coats of high-quality paint. There were some strong personality clashes among the crew, but when the day was over, they had done a very professional job and had completed it on schedule. Corey went the extra mile to see that it was done right and on time. I'm absolutely delighted with the final results.

He was extremely apologetic and seemed very polite when asking to reschedule the appointment. I'm just not sure if I want to use them after having an initial disappointing experience.

They met with me when they said they would. They were here on time and did the job when they said they would. They did an excellent job and did it on time. They were here everyday and did everything like they had promised. I used them as they came highly recommended. They said they would go around the last day and make sure they would touch up every little bit that needed it to make sure that the job was all good, and they did that. Their price could have been a little bit better, though. A couple of workers were a little dicey, but they did a good job. It was the first time that I ever hired somebody to paint for me. I wouldn?t have any problem recommending them or using them again.

I was very happy with his quote. I was happy with his ability to communicate things that he thought I would need and problems he ran into along the way. He did more work than I had expected from him. He was true to his estimate and gave me quality assurance that if I wasn't happy with it I didn't have to pay him until I was happy.

I found C. Corey Jones Painting in the Nickel Ads on a Monday afternoon. I called inquiring about meeting up to receive a quote for the painting of my home. Corey was able to meet with me that evening. Due to traffic he was a few minutes late, which was fine, because I was also stuck in it. The thing I liked about him right away was that he called me before he knew he'd be late just to let me know his situation. Big plus! I hate being left wondering if a contractor is late for a reason or if they just don't care... (the previous painter who came to give me a quote was 45 minutes late and never called to let me know he'd be late! I assumed after 30 minutes he forgot. Nope. Just didn't care to communicate with me. Anyways, back to Corey. He was really only 5 minutes late... and so was I. When he came, he brought in his many paint charts and shared ideas without becoming pushy. He looked at the outside of the property and took a walk around. He then wrote up a detailed quote as to what the job would cost. I was pleasantly surprised by his quote. While talking to Corey, I got the impression he cared about doing a quality job as opposed to a quick *wham bam* job. Another big plus! Within the week he was over pressure washing the house. I offered to throw in extra money to pressure wash my deck. Instead, he denied an extra fee and did it for free! Plus he pressure washed my step leading into the house at my side door. Honestly, I forgot the color of cement as the step has always been so filthy and mossy. And the deck... 6 years I've owned this house and never realized that for design purposes the composite decking was different colored! I seriously thought the entire deck was "dirty" Grey. But that's not the case. Once we decided on a color scheme, Corey Jones picked up the paint from the store and began the painting process. He failed to charge me extra for items other companies proposed extra costs for ie painting the entry doors and the garage door. We had a timeline and Corey Jones came through for us with time to spare.

Cory came out and bid the property for $5000. When it came time to choose a contractor, we asked for the bid in writing. He wanted to meet at the house to discuss details. When we met, he said that $5000 wasn't enough and that it would be more for prep work and three colors (which was included originally). He also said that he couldn't help with minor carpentry needs on the house. When we would not hire him at the new $5500 rate, he tried lowering again to $5000. At this point, we were no longer interested in his services.
