Stan the Hot Water Man

This company, Brett in particular, is awesome! Very honest and big kudos to Brett for that. I briefly described to Brett the problem I was having with my water heater (leaking water from the discharge tube), and over the phone Brett explained how it might be a problem with the pressure control valve out at the curb (and owned by the city of Happy Valley), and he suggested I call the city and have them come out to check out the valve first. I called them, the city water bureau came out, they replaced the control valve at the curb, and that fixed the problem! That solved the problem with the water heater, all totally free, not a dime out of my pocket. Thanks so much to Brett for giving me this great advice over the phone. Of course that meant no revenue for Stan the Hot Water Man, but I so much appreciate the honesty, that they made a long-term customer for sure. I'm sure there are other companies out there that would have charged to come, and possibly have sold me on expensive repair or replacement. Not this company - they are great and the next time I need anything done with my water heater, I'm calling Stan the Hot Water Man!

The technician was great. Called me when he was about 20 mins out, so I could stay at work until I knew he'd be there. He was quick and efficient. The price was even less than I was expecting because it turns out my hot water heater had and upgrade already that required a less expensive part. I probably wouldn't have know any different, but he pointed it out. I'm glad they put a company sticker on my hot water heater, because I will be using them again and I'll be recommending them to anyone who asks.

Fantastic service! Spoke with Mike, the owner on Thursday late afternoon. He talked with me about the different brands of water heaters, and reassured me that they would have someone out to do the job the next day. He also apologized for not being able to get someone there right away! Sure enough, the technician Mark came on Friday, explained everything and did the job in a few hours. He found that the new heater required a new electrical circuit. Since he was not licensed to do that, he referred me to an electrician. Mark was highly professional, polite and personable. Both Mike and Mark were very responsive and trustworthy. I highly recommend this service!

My water heater was hissing and had a small leak at the bottom valve. I read the reviews on Yelp and Angies List and Stan the Water Heater Man had awesome reviews on both sites. I called this morning about 7:30 and Amy took some information and said Scott would call me back. He did within 30 mins and said he would be to my LO condo between 4 and 6 that afternoon. I asked for a different time slot, as I had a softball game to go to at LOHS at 5pm. I have 2 friends whose girls play and they are both seniors. Scott said he was booked solid other than 4-6, so I took the time slot. About 4:30pm, Scott called and said a previous job was taking longer than he intended and wouldn't be to my house until 6:30pm ish. He said "if you want to go to the softball game, go and I will call you when I'm 10 minutes out." I said great, thanked him and headed to the high school. I stayed for the entire game; one of my friends daughters had a home run to center. As I was driving home, Scott called and said he was headed to my house. He came in, inspected the water heater and said all I needed was a value replaced rather than an entire water heater. He installed the valve and all is good. Cost $ 118 rather than $ 800 for a new water heater.

I couldn't get my pilot to stay lit, and I didn't know what was wrong. I called the company, and someone was out to me within a couple of hours. He inspected the unit, showed me how to clean it, and then replaced the faulty part.

Our hot water tank began leaking at a steady pace. I called Stan the Hot Water Man's office. Within minutes, Scott called me back. After talking with Scott for a few minutes about the problem, he said he would come by to assess the situation on his way to another project and would be here in 20 minutes. Within 30 minutes of my call, the problem was identified and the leaking gasket and flex hose were replaced. Scott was honest, fast, efficient, and professional.

Morgan was the tech. He showed up right on time, was competent, organized, bright, and easy to talk with. We had an excellent experience with this company and will have them back in the future.

I called in the morning and received a return call from a technician "Chris" a few hours later. I explained to Chris what I was looking for and my reasons for wanting to upgrade current water heater, expecting he would schedule a time to come out and give an estimate. Instead Chris tried to explain a bunch of different options over the phone (and ballpark costs), including upgrading to a 50 gallon tank (only 10 gallons more than we have now), and trying to advise against a tankless system. He tried to convince me it will be too costly due to needing to run new gas lines and venting--this may be true, but how would he know that without even seeing what our home is currently outfitted with. AND, why is he trying to dissuade me based on cost...he has no idea how much I was prepared to spend or what I can afford. When I asked if he could come and take a look and then give me an estimate so that I could make my own decision, he said he would have to charge $114 for a service call. At that point I said, no, I'm not going to pay over $100 for someone to give me an estimate when there are plenty of other companies that are more than happy to take my business. Stan the Hot Water Man's sticker is on our current water heater, so the prior homeowner must have done business with them in the past, but unfortunately I will not be calling on them again.

He did a really good job with it. It was a tank less water. They guy was prompt and helpful.

I had a slight problem with my water heater, the temperature and pressure valve had been leaking for quite some time, with the installation of a new furnace/heat pump we decided it was time to get that issue fixed as well. I called Stan The Hot Water Man on Monday morning, an actual human being answered the phone and told me the person who handles (my area) would give me a call to schedule. Several hours later Mark called and he indicated he would be here between 4 and six, he showed up just after 4:00 p.m. and had it fixed in about 10 minutes. The service call was $99.00 just to come out to my house and then $14.75 for the valve. Very nice guy. I found them on Angie's List and they were highly rated, I can see why.

He was very responsive and professional.

They were great, would use them again. And I tell friends how quick and easy they were to deal with.

I called on a Friday at 7:30PM expecting to get an answering machine but a real person answered the phone, took my message and said someone would call me back within the hour. Within the hour, I got a call from Morgan and got a price quote. He was even nice enough to call the guy (Johnny) who would be working Saturday to make sure my part was available. Morgan said Johnny would call me between 8:30 and 9am Saturday morning to confirm that my part was available and also the time Johnny would be available to come by and told me to call him back if I didn't hear from Johnny in that timeframe. Saturday morning I got a call from Johnny before 9am and said he had the part and would come between 11-1, which he did. When he came, he was able to fix the issue within a matter of minutes. When it came time to pay, the actual labor fee that was quoted was slightly higher than what I was quoted over the phone due to a recent increase in weekend rates which Morgan didn't know about but I was okay with it because of the awesome level of service. Overall I was very satisfied with the service, and especially grateful they got my hot water heater running again on a Saturday. I had left a message Friday for another company who offered weekend service by appointment and as I write this they have not even called me back.

We had problems getting them to schedule a time to come out, they did not show up when they said they would. We ended up without hot water for the weekend,

Great. 3 days ago I ran out of hot water. This never happens. Upon inspection of my dual burner 75 gallon gas fired hot water heater I thought the flame was rather erratic. There was also a venting problem which I corrected, however, this did not fix the flame. Called NW Natural and they came out but wouldn't do anything. I call Stan The Man and their guy, Darren, was here within 90 minutes. Not sure if this is normal but it was exceptional. Darren inspected the flame, checked the gas pressure and consulted with a co-worker and sent a photo to him as well. Everything was fine. The 2 burner heater is more of a wild flame and this was also stated by the manufacturer as well. Pressure was fine as well. Well worth the cost to put my mind at ease. Now I need to to talk to my son about those long showers!!

Once I was able to make contact with the actual installer, everything went extremely well. He provided a quote, purchased the new water heater, appeared on time to confirm the problem with the old water heater and installed the new tank. It was an extremely hot day but they were cheerful, helpful and very professional. Their quote was right on the money but more than I was quoted on the original call to the dispatch office. That may have been due to the type/brand of water heater I requested they install.

I had several companies tell me I had to replace both items, but Stan's was able to get to the bottom of the issue within an hour. He replaced the ignitor on my water heater and my furnace is working now too.

They diagnosed the problem with the water heater and installed a new thermostat. Fast and professional service! Cost included the service call. They also told us that we needed a new heater and gave us a quote.

We called Stan the hot Water man and he arrived within the hour after we called. The Serviceman was prompt, professional and found the problem, and repaired it in no time. We are very pleased with the service performed and so glad we don't have to worry about dealing with the leaky water heater that was spilling water in our basement.

He installed the new hot water heater and hauled away the old one in less than two hours. Very pleasant, answered all my questions, cleaned up the area when he was done.

Water heater started having issues on Sunday and became extremely HOT. Called Stan the Hot Water Man first thing Monday morning and spoke with a very nice lady who said she would send our repair request to dispatch and someone would be calling us that morning. A technician did call us that morning and said he would be at our house around noon. Overall he did a good job, didn't take very long to complete the work, the cost was about what I had expected, but the technician who came out seemed kind of grumpy and had no personality. I have no issues with the work that was performed, he just wasn't the best role model for friendliness or customer service.

I got a call from my renter in the morning that their hot water tank was not working properly. I went over to the rental house and determined that one of the elements had burned out and needed replacement. I checked Angie's List and decided to call Stan the Hot Water Man. The lady who answered the phone was able to quote me the approximate cost of the service and was very helpful and friendly. Brent came out the same day and fixed the problem. I could not have been more pleased and my renters are happy as well. I certainly will call on this company for all of my hot water needs.
