Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

They got me in on the next day I called , which was good but they called me last minute to cancel me out as the previous work would take the rest of the day. They tried to reschedule me 3 days later instead of accommodating on the next day, which is not acceptable as I had to take an off day from my work and cancel me out for their issue. They should do better work on accommodating the customer who has ongoing water leak and floor damage which was expanding. They didn't even refer me to other company or make suggestions what I should do to minimize the damage. If you are in this type of business, they should do better. As we work 24/7 with shifts, why not them??

It was easy to schedule them to come out. It was great scheduling and great service. They did a really good job; everything was fine. It was excellent interaction, very helpful. He explained exactly what the problem was with our drain. They ran a camera to look at the drain; they showed us exactly what we were seeing and explained how it could be fixed.

They predicted about 90 minutes before arrival, which was pretty accurate. Louis was friendly and knowledgeable and quoted the rate for immediate repair, which would require a second person due to the equipment needed, and would have required more waiting, but suggested scheduling it for the next day around 12:30 with no overtime charges required. Since the water had receded some, we chose to wait. They returned, later than 12:30 but with notice in advance from their office, and again, were friendly, quick and professional. Louse and Chris were able to quickly clear the drain and cleaned up thoroughly. They had a sister company come while they were on site to investigate further cleanup, since sewer water was involved, but we chose not to take advantage of that due to the cost and the small area involved. The person quoting that was helpful in offering ideas for our own remediation.

When the plumber came he quoted me $420. I was prepared to pay up to $200 but that price was ridiculous. When I asked why they didn't give their standard prices over the phone. He said if the receptionist gives out the price they would be fired. All in all the practice places homeowners at a disadvantage - they know you need a drain cleared and once you have a guy on the job you may just pull out your credit card. I sent the guy packing and scheduled Marshal Services Plumbing who was glad to quote me a price of $93 over the phone.

One worker arrived on time and did the job. They charged what they said they were going to charge.

They were good. There were two trips involved and a total of 4 people came out to do the work. It took the better part of a day. When you're sewer line plugs up, it's an emergency and they responded right away.

I called on 1/2/2017 to schedule a appointment to replace the handle and plug on the toilet. They told me there was a minimum charge of $89.95 for coming out. When they came out on 1/5/2017, the minimum charge had changed to $225 plus parts. He was in and out of the house within 10 minutes which breaks down to an hourly rate of $1,350. I asked them why they told me the minimum rate was $89.95 and then charged me a minimum of $225. The response was that it was $89.95 just to come and do nothing. If they do anything, it is $225. Pretty skanky! The real bonus here was that they couldn't manage to do this simplest of jobs correctly and the toilet began to leak. It took 3 days for them to reschedule for 1/13/2017 so that from the time I first called to completion, it was 11 days to get a new handle on the toilet. When they came back on 1/13 to fix the leakage that their work had caused, they made an adjustment and left. An hour later, the toilet was leaking again and they had to come back again. What a terrible place to do business. I will never use them again!

They did an awesome job. It's funny because I've just always heard horrible things about them, but I called all around because my septic tank was backed up and I couldn't get anybody to work on it and they came out pretty much right away and did an awesome job. The pumping was $475, add 3 gallons was $95 and then cable clear mainline was $239 and then the products they used was $175. They gave me a coupon, must have been from Angie's List for $20. The total was $965, which was actually a lot less. I was thinking it will be $1100. So I was pretty happy. They had a second septic crew come out, because one crew did the pumping and another crew came and scoped it, did a camera to find the clog. It was good, it was better than what I thought.

Called them, they sent someone out within the hour. I was told because it was a rain drain it would be an hourly charge $200 an hour. I told him to go ahead. 1/2 later he told me he had removed the clog. The next time it rained (two weeks later) the problem was still there. They did not fix it and when I called they said sorry there is no guaranty on rain drains. I said it was only two week and that they had not fixed the problem, they basically said sorry but if you want we can send someone out again to fix it for another $200. I will never use them again

Perfect! They came on time, they told me up front how much it would me. He was in and out quickly, very courteous and polite. He let everything spotless and just did a great job!

Completely solved problem. Service provider Charlie was very efficient and friendly. Cost of job was very expensive, however.

Justin first examined our drains through the clean-out port at the side of the house, but because of the peculiar nature of our drain system (many twists and turns), he couldn't discover the clog. Next step was to remove a toilet at the problem area and use the rooter. He found the problem and cleared it. Ordinarily I like to call a more local provider (non-corporate or franchise business), and I did that, but did not get a response after 90 minutes so decided to try out Roto-Rooter. They were quite professional. After placing the initial call, I got a call back in about 10 minutes that the plumber would be out in about 45 minutes, and he was here sooner. And it was a Sunday afternoon. Top marks.

The guy knew what he was doing and he was able to explain what he was doing. That's what I really liked. I didn't have any dislikes. The person they sent out, he would go over and explain everything that he was doing. If I wanted to do something on my own, he showed me how to do it. He was very knowledgeable.

It was a long time ago and I cannot remember what I liked the least about them but I remember that when I had the issue again, I thought, "No, I am going to try the other people." And I just liked the other people better. I cannot remember everything about Roto-Rooter. I would tell other members that are considering using them to use the other company. The value of their work compared to their price was about the same. I have used them years ago and I cannot remember their pricing, responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism.

Line had a build-up of dirt from construction activity. Company called to verify arrival time. They arrived on-time and performed the work. I was able to look over their shoulder while they scoped the line. Everything went as planned. They were on site about 90 minutes. Professional and friendly.

Their service was good. It was the best price.

They showed up on time and the install was completed in about 4 hours. They had to drill a hole through our house for the required venting and it all went very smoothly. The water heater is working great!

It went really well. They were fast and they showed up twenty minutes after I called them. They didn't have any surprise fees. They just did what they said they were going to do and left. They charged whatever they said it was going to be and it wasn't outrageous. We had them do several things. I've had several different plumbers but they stood out of being really good.

While the service person was professional and prompt, the fee charged was too much for the services provided. The fee structure was confusing and some of it was $215 hourly with an open ended estimate (and quot;I won't know how long it will take until I get startedand quot;). I asked him to stop when it was clear that it was going to be a bigger project than we anticipated. The tech did not take note of the time he started (and to my fault neither did I) so I think I may have paid $215 for a portion of an hour. He left a large rubber mat in my bathroom and there was some dirt left in the tub from the drain clearing that I had to clean out.

**I would like to preface this review by stating that I do have old piping in the house, but I had an inspection last year and was told that the pipes in my home were in great shape for the age of the home.** Roto Rooter came out and did not have the part they needed, so they had to go to Home Depot. Then when replacing the curved piping under the sink, they broke the vertical pipe coming down from the sink. They had to go back to Home Depot. Then they said they could not find the right parts in metal so they suggested doing it all under the sink in PVC. After hearing a lot of extremely loud banging in my kitchen later on, I went in to see what was going on. They said they needed to go farther into the back wall to continue to replace more sections of plumbing, and the price for the job, which was only going to be 1 section of curved pipe under my sink kept expanding out from that area, escalating in price as he went. I asked him to leave. I had another plumbing company come out. They recommended new PVC style piping also. The cost ended up being about $260. He also found a new leak that had not existed before Roto Rooter's visit. They proposed bypassing the piping running from my kitchen due to the new leak, and estimated the price to be in an additional $700-$750. I called Roto Rooter back to investigate the new leak and I also wanted to give them a chance to correct the issue. I believe that the leak was due to all of the banging that was going on when they first visited. The same gentleman came out with a supervisor, I suggested they bring a camera as well. They did an inspection and just said the pipes were old and deteriorating and that was the cause of the new leak. I asked if the leak could have been caused by the banging that was done on their last visit out. They said it would not have caused issues with the piping and they would get back to me based on their investigation to determine whether or not the damage was caused by them or old plumbing. They were going to check with their manager to see if they would do the repair and cover the cost. A few days later, I received a nasty call from Curt, their manager. He said if I agreed for them to come out AGAIN, and they determined that the leak was caused by old deteriorating pipes, they could not be held responsible. *Remember, I had an inspection last year where the inspector said my plumbing was in very good shape.* However, Curt accused me of and quot;BS-ingand quot; them. I got the impression he was trying to intimidate me to drop the subject. To start with, I just had a slight leak under my sink. After their visit, I had a leak in my walls and I still cannot use my kitchen sink.

Roto Rooter came out right away and did the job well. They also guarantee their work, so I'm confident this will fix any future problems as well.

Last Saturday, I discovered that the drain from my kitchen sink was plugged up. I inspected the trap, but found this was clean. I then used a plumber's snake, but found it was too short to reach the clog. I checked Angie's list to find a reliable drain cleaning company. Your top rated company answered my call immediately, but they were all booked up ujntil mid-week. Most of the other ecompanies you listed were closed on Saturday evenings. Roto Rooter was one of the few that is available 24/7 which is a real advantgage.

Roto Rooter is good. They are always dependable. You can even get them on Christmas. They have been out 2 or 3 times and have always been dependable. They are good people. They are always pleasant. They always explain to you what they are going to do. They give you an option if you want to do it or don't want to do it.

The roto rooter man came to the house promptly to unblock a drain, then I asked him to clean out 4 other drains in the house just to be sure that they were not close to being clogged. He was very professional, easy to get along with, worked efficiently and he took the time to answer my questions about drains and sewer clogs.
