Initially, my contact was with 2 ladies in the office: Marie and Beverly. Both ladies were prompt to respond to my questions and very efficient in getting me an estimate and subsequent contract, In fact we were able to do all the preliminary work via email, which made it much simpler and faster. On the day of the actual removal, Francisco and his team arrived at 8:00 AM as expected. They quickly set up a containment to insure that none of the asbestos they were removing would get into the rest of the house. All the work was done very cleanly although it took longer than anticipated as the popcorn was attached to plaster instead of directly to drywall. The men stayed longer to complete the job on the same day. A separate company came to test the air quality when they finished the removal and certified it was fully complying with the state requirements. The team from Rose City Contracting then took down their containment and cleaned up the area beautifully. They were careful of my hardwood floors and respectful of my home at all times. I was very satisfied.

As a contractor myself, I was very pleased with the work done on time, correctly and completely. They were very easy to work with and the best price of three bids. They damage some sheetrock in one location which I was not surprised due to the nature of the work. What did surprise me was a fair amount taken off the bill even though I had not asked.

Great job - the old popcorn ceiling, ceiling, which contained asbestos, was gone in three days... and, notably, the remaining ceiling & walls were still in good shape, with very few dings and dents resulting from this very intensive work. Therefore, the puttying, texturizing & painting which followed were much easier than I had anticipated. Plus the price was good. Hire them.

So disappointed with poor abatement strategy used. Vent tube to outdoors was put thru an open sliding door, vent opening was below roof eaves level; door was left wide open, no covering with breeze blowing all the expelled air RIGHT BACK INTO THE HOUSE THRU THE UNBLOCKED DOOR!! It was running for 2 hrs before I discovered it, workers were all locked into their containment space. I used some tape and an old shower curtain to tack up a really poor barrier as best I could over the wide open space. As an RN with 40 yrs experience with sterile technique and contamination issues I can say their technique was like a bad joke.

They took care of it in about a work week, four to five days, which is what they said it would take. They did it very quickly and effectively. The issues that came up they rectified right away. The owner himself came out to ensure it was fixed. They also had an independent person to verify the asbestos was removed.

The crew was great. They explained how the work was going to be done and then performed it quickly and efficiently. With asbestos the concern is fibers getting into the air for us to breath. They wrapped all of the pipes in plastic, wet the asbestos paper down, and then pulled out the duct work. They then double bagged the garbage and hauled it away.

The work went well. Two workers arrived early and had the job complete in about an hour. It was a simple process, as the partition was completely exposed on both sides and their work consisted primarily of pulling nails and removing the panels. The work appeared to be done in accordance with standard practice for asbestos abatement. The area was wrapped in plastic, personal protective equipment was worn and air handling equipment was utilized, in the form of a shop vacuum presumably with a hepa or other specialized filter. The panels were broken up, placed in large plastic bags and removed from the house. The area appeared to have been cleaned well following the work. Disposal certification was forwarded to me in the weeks following the work. The job appeared to be completed in a professional manner. I can easily recommend this contractor to anyone needing similar work performed. The men at my house that day were pleasant, seemed professional, and there was no real language barrier. That being said, I have to voice my amazement at how contractors seem to continually lower the bar on themselves and unnecessarily erode the impression they create through simple practices that make them appear clearly unprofessional. They arrived in a rented Penske truck-no business name nor markings. An unmarked van is one thing. A rented truck is a big red flag. The guys at the door didn't introduce themselves-no names, no statement of who they were with, not even a business card. If mine was a large job, say a house full of popcorn ceiling or some such, I would not be impressed with the initial contact and would certainly be re-thinking my choice.

Thank you for this feedback. Because the incredible job our Supervisors and their crews have been doing, we continue to grow. As is evidenced by these comments our controlled growth over the last 20+ years is ready for the next step of committing the resources to add another vehicle to our existing fleet of six and provide for the advancement of another one of our employees.

The asbestos removal went great. They were friendly and did a good job. There was some damage to the plaster in places, but this was expected as it is 110 years old and was thin and detached in spots. Another contractor was afraid to even do the job. They were the lowest of three bids. Unfortunately they put quite a few scratches in our fir floors due to something apparently being stuck to the wheel of one of their pieces of equipment. We had to enlist the help of Angies List complaint resolution process to get them to adequately compensate us. This was of course an accident, but since they don't to my knowledge plan to use additional floor protection in the future, I feel obligated to warn others. I don't know if their use of three layers of plastic sheeting is any different from industry standards, but obviously it is inadequate to prevent the chance of accidental damage. So I would suggest asking for extra protective measures, or else ask if it is OK to put down heavy cardboard or other more substantial protection in advance yourself.

It was brief, but what service! Hopefully we never have to call them to do any environmental work, but I would recommend to others for sure.
Description of Work: They came to the house to check some "acoustic" ceiling tiles that our inspector had flagged as potentially made with asbestos. He took one look and went "nope! You're clear" but then took some extra time to inspect the house for potential environmental hazards, putting my new mother mind at ease.

Overall I had a good experience with this company. After a brief phone conversation they emailed me a quote (site unseen) the same day. The quote had to be adjusted due to some clarifications which they turned around in a day. A few days later they asked me when I wanted to start, I said ASAP and they had a crew onsite in within four days. Their bid price was very competitive and I really appreciated that they could come so quickly. The crew that showed up was top notch. Very professional and efficient. We negotiated a couple extras at the beginning of the job that I thought were appropriate and then they did their thing. The job was wrapped up in a short day, cleaned up properly, tested and I was very pleased. For some reason it took them a month to send me an invoice which seemed odd but I guess they are not too concerned about cash flow...!

They showed up to do the estimate on time, and took about a week to get a quote. We scheduled the work, and they showed up on the specified date on time. We had to remove all furniture, furnishings, and decorations from the four rooms, so it wouldn't be in their way. We paid a deposit to start the work, first. The workers put down plastic sheeting, and then a second layer, to trap any asbestos fibers that went airborne. They double sealed all doorways and vents, and used fans to suck out floating material. The work took most of 1 day, and the inspection happened the same day. They disposed of all materials used, and cleaned up after themselves. They were very professional, and I felt like they did an excellent job protecting themselves and us from the asbestos as they removed it.
Description of Work: The contractor removed about 450 square feet of asbestos "popcorn" texture material from the ceiling in our front room, dining room, kitchen nook, and hall way. They sealed off the rest of the house, and brought in fans to suck out any residual material floating around. All work passed inspections by DEQ.
