I started the process of new countertops at Home Depot in Warranton, OR and they dispatched Precision Countertops out of Wilsonville, OR. I was a bit nervous because they came so far to complete the bid. They first came and measured - consulted with different color and tile/granite options. Gave a fixed bid within hours - I ordered and paid through Home Depot. I did have to pay travel time/mileage from Portland to Long Beach and wait 8 weeks plus for an install date. They communicated throughout the process - handled all removal of old counters - installed new counters- AND installed my new garbage disposal along with new sinks in my kitchen and two bathrooms. Everything went exactly as they said. There was minor damage done on a wall and they requested I look at it - discussed repair option and completed the repair immediately. I felt they were honest and acted with integrity.

On the day of installation, after 2 months of template measures, scheduling of appointments, etc., they informed me that they had decided that Klamath Falls was too remote to send a tile installer and did not intend to honor the contract with Home Depot. No phone call. No notice. No options. They directed me to contact Home Depot for a refund of the backsplash and installation. They installed the counter but said I was on my own to find tile and an installer for the backsplash to complete the kitchen project. Unconscionable customer service.
Description of Work: I purchased countertops and backsplash installation package through Home Depot.

Countertop was is beautiful , and installation job was EXCELLENT ! HOWER, about 6 months later, a small chip showed up in one of the countertop edge. HOME DEPOT Home Depot 13700 nw science park drive, Beaverton, OR They provided the contractors to do the required work (electrical, plumbing, demnolition, cabinets, appliance sales, sheetrock, painting etc. Bottom Line: the project management was excellent. Their handling of a contractor over a small defect was AWFUL. They protected the contractor over the customer who paid for the entire project. (1) RESULT: I no longer shop at Home Depot. And, my wife hates them. An employee (with prior rock countertop experience) admitted that this cheating of the countertop customers was common practice [by -hint - hint) this Home Depot contractor and the countertop industry cheats their customers. (2) Home Depot's quality department at their headquarters was useless! In fact, they were unhelpful (made situation worse). I suspect the quality department was afraid of confronting Precision Countertops. Home Depot store manager was useless! PRECISION COUNTERTOPS Inc 26200 SW 95th Ave, Wilsonville, OR 97070 Precision Countertops refused to accept any responsibility. They accused me of damaging the countertop. Even after I provided lots of DATA. !They acted like they only installed the countertop and had nothing to do with the cutting, grinding and polishing processes. Also, they wanted me to pay $168 to repair the chip. It was as if they were pretending that they only performed the installation. They wanted me to pay for their manufacture defect. HOME DEPOT Home Depot 13700 nw science park drive, Beaverton, Oregon PS: An onsite Home Depot employee (who had background in making rock countertops) wanted to be helpful, but couldn't). PS: I was never given any direct contact with the Home Depot store manage even though it involved a 22K $ in total project cost. PS: My opinion - Precision Countertops is ripe for class action.

They did a very good job. Their estimating/billing could be improved. I would use them again, but on their template we had a template with everything perfectly marked and even their quote had the right amount of sinks and everything, yet, they came out and charged us a bit extra for two sink cutouts. It was clearly in the bid. They did good work and we did not want to hassle with them and their pricing was good. But they need to shore that up a bit. They were very punctual, no problem.

The schedulers were rude and pushy. The measurement appointment was on time although the measurement person said it would take a couple hours when it was more like 5-6 and I had to stay home the whole time. I think they were expensive for what they did and it took two weeks between measurement and installation when I was told it would be a week. I was impressed that the installer was unhappy with minorly flawed work and decided to come back to fix his mistake, but thyme wouldn't bump the morning appointment to get me in the next day so I had to reschedule contractors after him and go the weekend without a sink.

Finished product (granite) looks great. Project management, however, was extremely poor. Communication from day one was horrible: -First contact was with sales guy who came out to the house to complete the template for the job. My selections and requests were never communicated to the project manager so the countertops came in with the wrong sinks. -After the countertops were installed, the project manager failed to tell me that a plumber had been contracted to come back and hook up the faucets. He appeared randomly one morning when I was just about to leave the house for work, so I had to turn him away. -When plumber was finally rescheduled, I had asked that the plumbing firm be contacted in advance to request some additional plumbing needs on our bathroom remodels. I was assured via email that my requests would be communicated. Plumber showed up and only had time to do the faucets because no one had actually communicated my requests, therefore we are now left without 2 working toilets in our house for another few weeks. A massive inconvenience. Worst part about the communication were the LIES from the project manager. After plumbing miscommunication, she told the plumbers that she had instructed me to contact them with the additional requests, and told me the opposite - that she had taken care of the requests and that it was the plumber's fault for missing the communication. Everyone makes mistakes, but to have someone lie and not accept blame is incredibly annoying and unprofessional. I have emails documenting all of my correspondence with this individual and was fortunately able to prove to the plumber that I was not in the wrong. Long story short - countertops look good (despite the wrong sinks) and the installers were really nice and professional. Their customer service could use a lot of work though!

Their customer servies is great until something goes wrong. The measurement guy failed to notice that the drain line on the wall was high enough that the new sink would not be able to use the garbage disposal in the position that we discussed. This was not noticed until the finishing plumber came by to reconnect everything. Precision offered to pay for half of the new plumbing work needed, which was thier mistake, but they failed to ever recognize thier mistake. Instead they first told me that I did not discuss this with their measurement and quote guy, when I provided the proff that I did, they then said that only a trained plummber would have been able to figure that out and that it still wan't their mistake. We ended up putting the disposal on the side of the sink that we didnt want to use for that, which completely ruins the flow of how our dishes need to go. Bottom line for us was that we did not end up with the sink and counter tops that we wanted because of Precision's lack of detail. I recieved no copensation or even an applogy, instead they acted like I was an incovience and that it was my fault. I will not ever use this company again and I would recommend other not use them either. This is a shame because the actual corian coutertops turned out beatuiful, the service from this company left a very bad taste in my mouth though...... Other issue that I almost forgot was that they subcontract most of their work out, the plumber was over an hour late and with no phone call or notice, I had to take time off work to meet him there also so that added to my incovience.

I had my kitchen remodeled through home depot. This included refacing the kitchen cabinets, replacing the back splash, installing the granite countertop and replacing the dishwasher. The entire project was a train wreck from beginning to end - with the exception of the service and quality provide by Precision Countertops. As the subcontractor responsible only for the countertop, they ended up being the only reliable interactions during the entire project. The countertop installation quality far exceeded the quality of the rest of the work performed by Home Depot. DON'T: Use home depot for kitchen remodel DO: Use Precision Countertops for granite countertop installation!

Had to meet with a salesperson, even though materials had already been selected at the store. Was required to leave work again to meet with a template crew. Had issues contacting the crew lead, to set install date after the sales person turned us over to him. Precision works on the basis of that they are busy, and you will rearrange your schedule to meet theirs. The crew showed up about on time, and ran at the job as though they were late for another appointment, and considering the fact they come out without the back-splash and had to return to (~25 miles) Wilsonville to get it, return and install. There was unnoticed damage to the cabinet facings when they pulled the old Formica tops off. They use a contract plumber to hook up the sink, disposal and lines to the dishwasher. The Plumbers schedule was to be on site between 2-5 pm. At 4 pm, and only by luck, I found a message on my office phone telling me the plumber was running late. At 5 pm my wife called, and we were assured someone was on the way. The plumber showed up ~ 5:30 and finished up ~ 7:30. He seemed a bit put out that he had to dispose of the sink, left behind by Precision. Their reasoning to not remove the sink was that there may be a fitting needed by the plumber, hence it was his responsibility to remove the sink. Number 1. Never give these people more than 1 telephone number to reach you, they will choose the wrong number every time. (Why would they call my office number for a home install?) Number 2; don’t let the installers hyper activity keep you from doing a thorough inspection for damage before they leave. Number 3; Get the name and number of the subcontractors to ensure they are following up in a timely manner. Number 4: Don't let anyone kid you, the seams are more apparent than you may be led to believe.

Their service was terrible, disorganized, and hard to communicate with. Our initial stop by their showroom was punctuated with a LONG wait to see a sales person and being chided not to enter the showfloor without one (rude!), but finally we met with someone from the installation team that was very knowledgeable. He gave us the card of one of their sales staff. We called and left messages for a week without a response, or would call and their answering service would hang up on us. So we stopped in one day and demanded a face to face with someone to know why they refused to answer our calls. We thought we had found someone to help us, only to find out that as a and quot;salesand quot; person, she really didn't know what she was talking about at the in-home consult, and we got some very unrealistic expectations on what could be done, and all the work had to be redone. When the official installation people came to do the measurements, hers were wrong and incomplete, ensuring more delays. There were a lot of small things that were badly communicated (why would you ask your subcontractor to come and hook up the gas stove the day after the countertop installation, knowing we would be without a stove overnight, when all we had to do was contact them directly and ask, and they hurried over an hour later to hook it up?) Why would you tell us the existing corbels would work fine, then suddenly your installation guys said they would have to be moved, then never check how they were attached, ensuring more frustration on our part at having our cabinets ripped apart because they were glued and not attached with screws? When they sent us an email survey to fill out about the experience, I refreshed their memory about our experience, and derided their professionalism and communication. After that LONG survey email, detailing all our frustrations, we never even got an apology. The installation itself went well and smoothly, and although we are happy with it in the end, I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. They were happy to take our money, but were terrible to work with.

They had very very poor customer service. We just had a lot of issues with them. It was supposed to take them three days to do and it took them a month and a half. The tile man's work was excellent but the counter top crew's work was quite poor. They left a big mess and a big gap in between the wall and the counter. But the designer was also wonderful. We were treated very well during the initial consultations and were pleased with the suggestions made by the consultant. Once the job started however, the customer service was terrible. Calls/emails with issues went unanswered until we followed up several times. Miscommunication around what was expected from us for surface preparation caused significant delays in the tile work. The crew that did the counter tops in the kitchen used a hammer to make a bigger hole for the new sink which left a jagged edge under the sink.

We wanted a turn-key replacement and we got it. The show room is stocked with all kinds of samples, and the warehouse has literally hundreds of sheets of rock. We picked our choice, as well as the sinks and faucets, and they did the rest: Measurement, tear-out, installation, plumbing. All on time, all as ordered. Perfect! We will use them again anytime. We purchased through Costco, so the work is doubly warranted.

Well to say the least it didn't go all that well. Precision Countertops were recommended by a friend who had a good experience with them, so my wife and I stopped by their showroom on a Saturday afternoon where we were informed that we shouldn't show up without an appointment (should have been the 1st clue). They made time for us and we picked out two granite slabs, sink and faucet then worked out the details and price. The sales person promised that someone would be in touch within 2 business days to do the scheduling for measurements and installation. After 4 days had passed I hadn't heard anything so I called to inquire about the scheduling. No one seemed to know who was managing my project and I got passed around a bit. We scheduled for them to come out and measure about 10 days out on a Monday. The following Thursday I received a call and was told that there was a problem with the slabs we picked out and there wasn't enough material available to cover our job. I asked for details about the and quot;problemand quot; but was never given a straight answer. I was told that they were due to receive some new slabs of the same type pattern and we could come by on Saturday at 1pm to look at them. Based on our first drop in visit, I asked if we needed to make an appointment and was assured that someone would be available for us when we arrived. When we arrived on Saturday at 1pm no one knew why we were there and we had to wait 45 minutes before someone could help us. Of course that person knew nothing and my wife was actually the one who found the new slabs in their warehouse showroom. We looked at them but none were exactly what we were looking for and I began to show my displeasure to the sales person. She got the Customer Service manager who suggested we go directly to their supplier to pick out some slabs. Of course they weren't open on Saturdays so I had to take the following Monday off so that we could go there. The following Monday we went to the supplier and were able to find 2 granite slabs that we liked. They marked them for us and notified Precision that they needed to be picked up. I called Precision to re-make the appointment for the measurements but no one called me back. On Wednesday of that week I called and got in touch with someone but she wasn't able to complete the scheduling for measuring and installation (can't remember why) but she promised to call me back the next morning. Needless to say she never called back. I tried several time to call her but got her voicemail every time and it was full so I wasn't even able to leave a message. After a few days I called back and finally got someone to do the scheduling. The measuring went without any problem. The tech showed up on time and asked me questions about how I wanted things. He said some one would be in touch to go over the virtual templates within a few days. I waited close to a week and no one got in touch with me. At this point I decided to just cancel the entire project and look for another company. I'd done it through Costco and my $8200 check had already been cashed so I called Costco Customer Service to start the cancellation process. Later that same day I got a call from someone at Precision who wanted to know if I wanted to move up my installation date. This call was actually kind of funny because she had called the wrong customer by mistake. I explained that the project was going south in a hurry and had already initiated the cancellation process. I told her the long boring details that you've just read and she promised I'd have the templates in my email by 7am the next morning. I told her that whoever responded first, Precision or Costco, that's the direction I was going. Oddly enough I got a call at 7:01am the next morning to tell me the virtual templates had been sent to me. All I had to do was approve one of them and the project would be back on schedule. I consulted with the wife, we picked one and approved them the start cutting the granite which was to be installed the following week. The following week the installation techs showed up, tore out the old and started to install the new counter tops. They discovered that of the 7 corners, only 3 were done/measured properly. They were able to and quot;field modifyand quot; all but one of them to my satisfaction, the last being about 3/8 of an inch short. It's not what I wanted but I guess it's hard to reject $8200 worth of granite for that. I have to say that the two install techs were the most positive part of the entire project. They were very good at what they do. Too bad they don't work directly for Precision (sub-contractors). Anyhow, they finished up the install to include the sink, faucet and cook top. The next day the plumber showed up to connect the sink, faucet and cooktop. He was pretty young and it took him all afternoon to accomplish his tasks. At one point I actually thought he was going to burn the place down when I started smelling gas coming from the kitchen while sitting in the living room. I went and gave him a hand finishing up the cooktop installation. By that I mean I looked at the manual and showed him how to install and light the burners. He also left behind a small leak under the sink. I was also told the plumbing would be all new but he mostly reused the old parts. My wife was on vacation when the installation was done and unknown to me (I'm a guy after all) was that they didn't install the faucet that the wife had selected. I took about another 4 phone calls and over two weeks to get that fixed. To make a really, really long story short... I'd never do business with Precision Countertops again nor would I recommend them to any of my friends or family.

One of the reasons why I went with them over the one that I used for my kitchen countertops was that I had an awful experience working with that company who happens to be Precision's direct competitors. I contacted both the companies and got quotes from them for the kitchen and whenever I talked to Precision I mentioned that they contacted me and Precision warned me about them that they had heard their quality of work was not very good. I went head and used them anyway and so whenever I went to do the bathrooms, I contacted Precision again. They have always been really quick to get back with quotes, really quick to respond via emails, and that was my preferred mode of communication. They have always been very good at communicating that way. Whenever they first did the quote, it was done weeks back and so they helped the bid for settlement before they actually did the work, which was nice. They have always been really nice to deal with and competitively priced.

Kyle Reitenbach at Precision countertops provided a detailed quotation in a timely manner. Kyle was professional and did his best to exactly quote the same materials and services as other bidders. Unfortunately, we declined the quote because of the much higher quoted price. Enough higher that it did not make sense to pursue further discussion or negotiation. Kyle was friendly and he was good about following up.

It went very well. We met with Heather at the showroom and picked out what we wanted--there was a large selection of different types of countertops. We knew we did not want granite or tile, so she suggest silestone. Briana, one of the logistics people, touched base with me periodically while we lined up our contractor, had the old bathroom demolished, and had the new cabinets installed. They showed up on time to do the measurements for the countertops and were efficient in doing it. They showed up on time to install the countertops. Although one part of the backsplash broke on the way over (someone rammed the truck on the freeway), they had a new piece to us two days later. Everything fits and operates like it is supposed to. Briana called after the installation to make sure everything was as we wanted. It was!
Description of Work: Precision Countertops installed new silestone countertops (2) in our newly remodeled master bath, and installed two sinks and the water faucet.

We started with quotes from several companies. Then we were introduced to Precision Countertops through Costco. We were very pleased with the sales person Jodi. She was very helpful with information about the products we chose. Jodi explained every step of the process and what we should expect and when. We were contacted via email and phones calls by Chris the project manager in the timeframe we expected. We were given a list of all our appointments for the Installation. Installation was done by very professional and skilled craftsmen. They each appeared to be experts in their field and the installation proved it out. They called a day ahead to tell us when to expect them, they arrived on time and completed their part in the time they estimated. They did a wonderful cleanup job each day they worked in our house. We are very happy with the results and we are glad we chose Precision Countertops to resurface our kitchen counters.
Description of Work: We had Precision Countertops install new countertops, sink, faucet and backsplash in our kitchen. We went to the showroom and selected the Eco product, the sink and faucet and stone tile. They did a complete layout and made templates of the existing countertops. They measured for the wall surface to be covered in tile. They sent out a demo crew to remove old tile and countertops. They had the countertops pre-cut in their facility and installed in our house. The new granite composite sink was installed with the countertops. The plumber came and did his part another day including installing a new water filtration system that we purchased as an add-on.The tile guy came out and installed the tile and returned to grout it a day later. All told, it took 4 days with the different installers and the wait time for drying.
