They have beautiful inventory. They are extremely helpful and professional. I would certainly use them again.
Description of Work: They did about 100 square feet of granite counter tops and back splash. It looks wonderful and really brings out the kitchen and family area. They used six large slabs for this work.

They cut it and they did templates for it. They came back two weeks later with it cut and put everything in perfectly. A representative came out just to make sure the work was done, he took pictures to make sure we liked it. We had one little thing that wasn't fitting in correctly and they fixed that. Every thing they said they were going to do they did. They made sure they kept every thing clean even when they came in and out of the house. We didn't have to pay them anything as we paid it all to home depot as a package.

The color of our countertops isn't made any more, so Pedro had to take a portion of our back splash and create a material he could repair the cracks with. You can't even see where the repairs have been made! And he discovered a crack we hadn't even noticed, and will be coming back out and fixing that one too!
Description of Work: We have had Gibralter countertops for 14 years, and though they are still beautiful, they have developed some cracked and were pretty dull......there isn't very many companies out there that can repair and fix them! Pedro did a beautiful job!

WE HIRED THEM THROUGH A HOME IMPROVEMENT STORE, SO THEY CAME OUT AND GAVE US ALL THE INFO OF THE SERVICES THAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO, IT WAS REALLY DETAILED WHICH WAS GREAT, AND THEY GAVE MY HUSBAND A LOT OF IDEAS TO MAKE IT LESS EXPENSIVE. THEN THEY CAME OUT TO INSTALL, THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS, THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES, THE QUALITY OF THE WORK WAS GREAT, HASSLE FREE. THERE WAS ONE PIECE THAT WASN'T QUITE LEVEL, SO MY HUSBAND CALLED, AND THEY CAME OUT IMMEDIATELY AND FIXED IT.

They were prompt in scheduling a template appointment and when the first appointment didn't work for my schedule were able to quickly reschedule the appointment. On the template day, the work was done efficiently and they asked me appropriate questions. The installation was a little delayed (which was my fault) because on the day of the template I decided to go with a different stone. The installation went fairly smoothly - the only major problem was that some bracing was not done correctly. The expense was subtracted from my bill and the issue resolved. I had one additional problem, which was that there were gaps around my stove (between the granite and the stove). I reported that on the day I had the stove reinstalled (Saturday) and they were out to fix the problem within 3 days. Overall, I am happy with the service I have received and with the work that has been done.
Description of Work: I had my kitchen countertops replaced. I went through Home Depot, who uses Precision to do the work. There were two countertops that had to be removed (the counter top was built over the original countertop) and some tile that had to be removed.

I was very pleased with the service. I became concerned, after I subscribed to Angie's list and saw some of the negative reports on them, but by then it was too late, the countertops had been ordered. However, the service and quality was great. The two people (Justin and Dustin), who came to make the template were on time, courteous and took the time to make sure, it was exactly how I wanted it. They also, returned 10 days later to do the installation, again right on time. Everything fit perfectly and there were no problems. The counters look great. I was very pleased.

The installer, Ron, measured for the countertops/created a template. He returned for the installation and that's where it all went wrong! The pieces did not fit, but Ron "made them fit". Before I get into that: Ron had my brother-in-law helping since it really was a 2 person job. No covering was done on the carpets or wood floor. In the installation, the woodwork around the windows was damaged and will have to be sanded and repainted (I'd just had the kitchen painted.) Many things were wrong: the long island piece was not straight, there was a bow in it; the "slide-in" stove didn't fit since Ron had cut the Corian too short, white caulking was all over to "make it fit", seams were visible. I contacted the firm but action was very slow in coming. When I was sent a Customer Satisfaction Form and responded with my displeasure, I received a call from the company president. Things then happened: re-template and reinstall. The counters are now fine. The painting needs to be redone.
Description of Work: The task was to replace the laminate countertops in my kitchen with Corian/coved backsplash. Please read my comments below and then return here: The second installation was done very well and the kitchen looks fine. But now I have to have the house cleaned again and will have to repaint the window trim.

3 weeks after purchase, Precision called me to schedule tamplating (after proving the sinks and faucets to be used were on site). The templaters arrived an hour earlier than the given 3 hour window-but I felt lucky enough to be fit in to their schedule that I didn't mind answering the door in my pajamas. Two weeks after templating the installation went fine. When my plumber came to hook up the faucets he encountered two problems: the countertop was thicker than standard faucets could clear and the installers didn't drill enough holes to mount the faucet properly. I had to call numerous times to schedule a time for the installers to come back and correct the hole-drilling mistake and my plumber finally came up with a solution for the thickness. Apparently, the countertop thickness vs. faucet problem is not unique. I asked throughout the process about what would and would not work with the new countertops and could have been made aware of this factor at various points in the process.

They returned a bid pretty promptly and were more responsive than some other companies. But when I gave them a specific granite I was interested in the price went up a LOT. It turns out that because they import their own stone, their competitive prices are based on THAT stone. If you want to get it from one of the other major importers, their prices are no longer competitive. I went to their warehouse to see their stone. The warehouse was only open on Saturday (!) and it was very hard to arrange to see the stone at another time (Saturday didn't work for me). They were semi-nice about it, but clear it was my only chance to see it -- not great for such a big investment. Their final quote, even for their own stone, was significantly higher than the initial number.

Precision Countertops was great from start to finish. The salesperson was friendly, informative, and gave us great choices. It was exciting to actually select our own granite at their warehouse. Precision gave us the opportunity to see the granite cutting area, too, very interesting. The templates and installation people were experts. They took all of our questions in stride and made sure that we had no seams in our island, etc. The management at Precision was great, too. Kudos to Steve Phelps!

We ordered the cabinets and countertop from different manufacturers through Home Depot. From the time we placed the order to the time the countertops were actually installed was about 8 weeks. First we paid the full cost. Then we waited 6 weeks until they had time to come out and make the template for our countertops- the wait wasn't that unreasonable, because we also had to wait for new cabinets and then get them all installed in advance. After making the template, it was about 2 more weeks until they returned with the new countertops. One of the countertops was slightly longer than it should have been, but the installation staff were able to fix it on the spot. The final product looks great- though there is a seam where we had been told it would be one solid piece. Have to say that the Precision Countertop installers were challenging to deal with and not particularly friendly. They like to frequently threaten to leave if something is wrong with your cabinets.

Precision used a subcontractor to measure. When the countertop came back, the same subcontractor came to install. My countertop was in three pieces. When he tried to fit the third piece, it wouldn't fit in between counter and drywall. Since they (and a myriad of tools) were in my kitchen, I didn't see how he resolved this until he left. He cut a one inch square out of one end of my countertop and cut into the drywall on the other end. He then shoved the countertop into the drywall and fitted the other end around my door molding. Precision sent someone out who agreed that the workmanship was shoddy and asked if they could send same contractor out to fix. When the contractor returned he was upset at having to come back. Didn't see anything wrong with the work since I was having a tile back splash put in that would cover most of it. He became so belligerent that I had to call my husband home from work. Although Precision fired this guy, they offered no compensation or replacement

We had an excellent experience with Precision Countertops. The salesperson was efficient, provided us with a firm quote and prepared us for the installation. We met with a service person who was very nice and helpful, toured the factory and picked our slab. Installation was good and efficient, even though it occurred during a time of the year when flu and colds were going around. Installation was completed on time. In all, we would highly recommend precision countertops.
Description of Work: This is the company Home Depot referred us to, to select and install granite countertops purchased at Home Depot. We are lucky to have Precision Countertops in Tualatin Oregon so we could deal directly with them for service, to pick granite and for installation. The design staff at Home Depot was not an asset in this transition.

The precision countertop estimator came to my house and gave me a lot of literature on the various types of counter materials available. They did not have the color of granite that I wanted (Absolute Black) and the whole process would have taken about a month with 2 weeks, with no sink in the kitchen. They make you pay not for a whole granite slab, but just the square feet you will use. My estimate for a small kitchen counter in an L shape was $2,000 including removal of the old counter.

The overall workmanship had a lot to be desired. They did the template and must have measured wrong, because they had to dig into the wall in order to fit the slab. The attitude was awful!!! Like it was our fault the wall was not straight, but then why do a template? They accused the cabinet maker of not doing the job right, took the stone back and brought it back the same, while saying it was our home not right, the cabinets not right, or the window not straight. It was a real nightmare dealing with them. Of course, they had our money, so, we just had to take it. Found out other customers have had difficulties with them as well. Wish I had known there were other companies offering similar product without so much aggravation.
Description of Work: Remodeling kitchen. Silestone countertops chosen because they seem to have a monopoly on the local market, such as Home Depot. There are other manufacturers of the same product, not the same name, providing the same kind of service much better. They are the biggest in our area, and most people do not realize there are other Companies offering similar countertops. They did our kitchen countertops in two different colors, (our choice) nothing wrong with the material, Silestone, that we are pleased with.

The finished product is very impressive. Getting there was a little less impressive. During the template process, the sub contractors were a bit sloppy. Some overspray from their glue was left on my cabinets, and required me to clean up. They had some difficulty getting the template for the downdraft vent in the proper place. The actual installation of the Silestone went well once the template was corrected.

Here are some problems I had with ths company. It took over a week for someone to contact me to set up an appointment through Costco. When I asked about it, they said, "Oh well we're SO busy right now that is just about how long it takes nowadays." When I asked about prices, they gave me a 'fully installed' range, but neglected to mention that there was a cost (not a cheap one) for demolition on top of that cost (because we all frequently do out own demo, right?!) Lastly, when I finally DID get a bid, it was $500-800 more than other companies who accomodated me with a smile from the get go, and they were going to take 2-3 weeks longer to install the counters as well. Overall, I felt that the attitude of the company was that they did not need my business, so they didn't get it.

The workmen were on time (or when they were a little behind they called to advise of new time), very polite, answered all questions, and even made some excellent suggestions. We had three visits: one to estimate the cost, one to cut templates for the countertops, and the last one to install the granite countertops and sink. The countertops are gorgeous, are a perfect fit, and the price seems quite good compared to other estimates.

Precision had a wide variety of granite to pick from. We are very satisfied with the beautiful santicellia granite. The installers were some of the nicest people you could ever meet and did an excellent job. The problems we encountered had to do with lack of communication. Precision was just about impossible to get a return phone call from. I finally asked for a supervisor. When they did return my call the templating department did not follow thru with the alterations that they agreed to. The installers had to do some jury rigging to make things fit. In the end we have beautiful kitchen countertops for an excellent price. (by the way purchase was made thru Costco) I would use them again but only because of the price and the installers.
