We called Dekorte Electric to have some dedicated lines put in, as well as resolving some other wiring issues. Ken and Clint could not have been more professional or amiable. It was a pleasure to have friendly, knowledgable, and trustworthy people working in our home. After hours of work, there was no mess to clean up. I highly recommend DeKorte Electric to anyone in need of electrical work by professional people.

Electrician was prompt, friendly, and professional. I had to switch my house grounding from the plumbing to grounding rods as my water main (galvanized iron pipe) had broken and was going to be replaced with plastic. Job was completed in an hour and was neatly done. Electrical inspector commented that it was a very nice job.

Steve did an estimate, then completed several small items while waiting for permit for larger work. He assisted with our contractor and completed work early and within budget!

The electrical work done at my home was successfully completed by Steve Davis. He fixed problems in my kitchen, bathroom, and back porch. Steve is talented, efficient, and pleasant. He made an effort to inform me about what he was doing which I appreciated. He seems to enjoy the challenge of solving electrical puzzles and solved all of the ones I had. I wouldn't hesitate calling DeKorte Electric for future work.

Excellent service! I would highly recommend this company. Within hours of me calling their office, Ken was here to assess the problem. He was prompt (called me when he was on his way), professional, extremely knowledgeable and courteous. He checked the circuit boxes in the garage which were fine and then went through our home testing all outlets and found out it was an outlet in our bedroom that caused the power to be out in sections of the rest of the house. He also noticed that two side lamps we have had bad cords/plugs and let me know we should not use them until we get new cords. I also appreciated that when I called the office, I was given a list of things to check before they sent someone out to make sure it was nothing minor. Ken also took time to discuss an outdoor light I would like to have installed and showed me various ways it could be wired, checked our hot tub for alternative power options and went through the steps if we wanted to increase our electrical service to our home. I will definitely use them again and am glad I found them on Angie's List. We now have an electrician we can trust when we need one in the future.

It was good. They were here when they said they would. They did exactly what I asked. They cleaned up when they were finished. I had to pay matierals and the price acceptable.

I used them a few times. They explain what they are going to do and give me a price. They do it at a price quoted. I like them; they were professional and friendly. The quality of work was excellent. If I have complains I won't use them.

The service provider was wonderful and a nice person., explained what the problem was and took care of it. Showed member why the problem could not be fixed on Saturday.

Went great. I explained what I wanted and sent pics and got free estimate by email. I've been following them since they did a Big Deal and apparently some people that buy those things don't read very well. I knew the cost of permits, supplies, was extra. The guy got delayed at the parts shop but contacted me through the office and apologized when he arrived so no problem. Solved the problem, did the job exactly as I requested and came in UNDER the bid for around $265. Not bad considering other bids were over $400. All in all a good job, well done and I recommend. Just don't expect to get quality trade work for cheap. This guy was an experienced pro and worth the money.

I called to get an estimate. The person in their office informed me that they charge a $150 dlls fee for the estimate, Which will be applied to the charges IF I decide for them to work for me...............really!!!!!!!! SShe didn't even ask me my address......which is in fact 5 blocks from them.....The info on the website says FREE estimates....

It did not turn out very well. There were additional charges. It was considerably more than the price of the Big Deal. The price was high for what we had to pay for. The guy that came out did not listen to what my husband wanted him to do and did it the way he wanted to do it. Then he had to go back and redo everything that he had done and then bill us for it! So it was not a good experience. His work wasn't bad, he just didn't follow instructions. He came out pretty quick.

Service technician was communicative and helpful. Job went as expected. Price was reasonable. Used Angie's List deal.

Shortly after midnight on 2/3/2014, my 87-year-old mother called me to say that she'd flipped on a light switch in her house and most of the place went dark. Worried about a potential fire hazard, she asked me to find an electrician and come over. I checked around here on Angie's List and found that DeKorte Electric offers emergency service 24/7. That's not so easy to find--some electricians will come at odd hours during the week, but this was late Sunday night/early Monday morning. Fortunately, I got Ken DeKorte himself to come and take a look. He was prompt, professional and friendly--pretty good at that hour! Ultimately, the problem turned out to be two blown exterior lights that tripped the circuit breaker. But Ken checked everything to make sure it wasn't more serious, climbed around outside in the dark on a ladder, changed the light bulbs (which I would not have been able to reach), and made us feel much better about the situation. He charged a premium for the off-hour service, but it was fair and he told me on the phone what the cost would be. I went home knowing that he'd taken care of the problem. I highly recommend the company.

The electrician came on time and finished up quickly. All went as planned.

the work was done well, no complaints. However, the person booking appointments failed to call me back twice! I had to call and reminded her. her reply "we've been busy"! If I hadn't already paid for my groupon I would have gone somewhere else.

I contacted Dekorte to get a bid on several small electrical jobs in my home. While other contractors sent out estimators to review the jobs in person, Ken instead asked me to send him pictures of the areas where the jobs would take place. Although I found this odd, I obliged him and gave him descriptions of each job. I later received an estimate that only offered price estimates on some of the jobs, a time estimate on one (no price given), and an explanation that one job could not be estimated because there wasn't enough information. Now if Dekorte had sent out an actual estimator to look at the jobs in the first place, this wouldn't have been a problem. After reviewing the estimate, I asked them to do just that - send an estimator out so that they could get the pertinent information they need to produce an informed estimate with thorough numbers. I received no response. Looking at all the other reviews here, it appears they actually do some fine electrical work. I wouldn't know. After my experience with them, it was clear they weren't taking my job request seriously. Maybe they just weren't interested in the job? If so, they should've just said so, instead of asking me to take and send pictures for them, then throw together an incomplete estimate. Very unprofessional.

The technician that came out was good. My main problem is that even though I prepaid the service, there was a permit fee that they didn't tell me about that I had to pay at the time of the services being done. I'm not an electrician and I do not know what needs a permit and what doesn't. And since these were existing fixtures and all they did was replace the hardware, there was NO possible way to know a permit is necessary. Quite a shocker. I explained what I wanted done on the phone...no one said a word. According to the technician that did the work pretty much every single time an electrician does work, it requires a permit. I would not use them again. I have some big projects coming up and I cannot rely on them to give me a fair or accurate estimate. If I'm budgeting for a $2000 project, I don't want to find out after the fact they need another $500 for miscellaneous permits, etc. Tell me up front.

It was November of last year. It took it all in there for $450. They give an excellent job. I think his name was Teevie, he was excellent and I put all that in my review. There was nothing they can do better. They scheduled me next day, were available, professional, reasonable, and patient. Electrical is always a little bit expensive but I think that they are fair.

It went extremely well. The DeKorte electrician was fast, efficient & thorough. He completed all replacements within the 2 hour time frame of the deal and double checked all his work. We are very pleased with DeKorte Electric and their representative, Steve Davis!

Working with Dekorte, went well. I have a long list of little electrical projects around my house, but really needed an outlet for a dishwasher. I bought one of the big deals for 2 hours of electrical work for $99. When I called to schedule service, they were pretty accommodating to my schedule. I did have to schedule time off of work to meet the technician, but I thought that would be better than if the service went longer into the after hours fee. The electrician showed up toward the end of the 2 hour window that they had given me. I showed him what I needed and how to access the panel through the attic. He was very professional. Although at the time I was slightly annoyed that he kept telling me how they billed for time if it went over the 2 hours I had purchased ($145 for the first hour and $90 for the second in 15 minute increments). In hindsight it was better to know that then to have him start working on something that went over. He did the work pretty quickly and got it all installed and cleaned up pretty fast. I had some time left within the 2 hours and asked if he could take a look at some other items, to which he agreed to look at, but told me he didn't have enough time to work on them while he was there. All in all I was very satisfied with the outcome and the advice on the other projects. He provided me with a lot of info on how to plan for the projects and what to budget. I wish I could have paid him to do some more work while he was there, but getting all that was done for $99 and the permits and parts was a good deal. .I will definitely call on them again and request the same technician since he is familiar with our layout and attic.

I had a guest staying who overloaded the breaker. I reset it but one room still had no power - her bathroom. As she is into doing her hair and makeup, this just wasn't going to work and the next day was New Year's eve. I needed someone out here stat! I called another provider and they couldn't get out until the next morning at 7am. Then I called DeKorte - Randy was out here in 20 minutes! Unbelievable. And he was so professional, easy to work with and knew what he was doing. The breaker was a quick fix, thankfully, but as I had to pay for an hour I had him look at some funky switches and plugs in my kitchen. He told me that one or two were actually dangerous so I had him fix all of them. It took us 30 minutes over the hour minimum but was so worth it! I couldn't have asked for speedier, better service!! Highly recommended!

Time was of the essence and several people were having the same issue. I called several electricians off of Angie?s List, but was having trouble scheduling an appointment for a reasonable price. I called DeKorte and it just so happened that the owner was in the office and he volunteered to come out the same day. He came out quickly, was responsive, had a great attitude in spite of the weather and gave us a fair price. DeKorte went above and beyond and I really appreciated their customer service. If I could give them six stars, I would! I will definitely call them in the future and recommend them to others.
