Codel says that their doors are not guaranteed to leak so they are not faulty and that they are not the correct doors "for this application." At this point, the house exterior is fully trimmed out and caulked. They are willing to give us a free sill pan for the rear entry door and to rebuild the French door with an out swing using the same blanks but with better jams. Codel expects us to pay to remove the doors, to purchase materials necessary to board over the French doors (assuming he understands that we cannot leave the house open) while they are being fixed, to reinstall the doors, and to reinstall any trim that comes off in the process. We are not very happy about Codel or their leaky doors.
Description of Work: We purchased three Codel doors through Parr Lumber for the house we are building as a personal residence. They were installed in late December. Two of the doors are leaking. The sales rep agrees this is true, and he agrees that this is not an installation fault. The primer on the jams is also bubbling and there is some decay of the jam at the base.

My husband is seriously ill. Daystar Windows and Doors organized a "neighbors helping neighbors" beautification project for our home and yard. Codel is one of the vendors that they use regularly. When they shared our story with the folks at Codel, they couldn't wait to join in on the project. Because the existing opening was not a standard size, the door had to be custom made. All of this was free of charge. Their products allow so much light into our home, but their generosity lights our souls!
Description of Work: New front entry system. Beautiful Fiberglas front door and 2 matching sidelights containing gorgeous leaded and beveled decorative glass. They also provided a new back door, complete with the built-in pleated shade window covering, that raises and lowers for complete privacy and visibility.
