It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. I thought about it but put it off as Joseph was so nice to me and my family as he was painting for us. However, as I find more and more issues it concerns me and I don't want someone else to be put in the same spot that I was in. The bid from Skyline came in about mid range in regards to the 3 bids that we received. What made me choose this company was the attention to detail that seemed to be of utmost importance to the owner as that is what is very important to me. I can paint but I wanted to have a really good job done, a proffesional job done. Joseph did do an excellent job re-painting the island in my kitchen. That was great. The job was started on a Wednesday....this was due to the fact that I had to have people come and fix some drywall issues and they couldn't get there until Monday. I didn't give it a second thought that I might be in a complete mess all weekend. The painting job was started on a Wedneday and went through the following Wednesday. I would have really appreciated the job either starting on the following Monday or being worked on through the weekend so I wasn't in a mess for a solid week. He usually started around 8:30-9 then left any time between1-2:30. It just made the job way too long. I figured it would be a 3-4 day job. There were issues with where the walls meet the ceiling. It was very wavy and not a straight line at all. He does not tape anything off and does all the cutting in by hand. He did a great job in some areas and not so great in other areas. When I asked him if he could tape the ceiling off so that I could have a nice straight line he told me there is no way to paint over tape.....I KNOW that there is. I have done it....and the person who I had to hire after he left did it to fix the areas. He told me he would fix it and he had never had anyone complain about this issue. I was shocked, it was very noticeable. I had to go to an appointment I showed him the areas that needed fixed. When I got back he had all his things put away but had forgotten to fix the celiing in the living room. I did not want to argue as we was a very nice guy, the job was just not done correctly. He did not see any issue. I am very non confrontational. I hired someone else to come fix the errors, that was an additonal $350.00. They fixed the painting where it met the ceiling, had to sand off drips on different areas of my walls and paint other areas that had been missed. The final straw that made me post this review is the fact that there were paint drops all over my wood floor and I found some on the rug under my kitchen table and also various areas of the baseboards. That shouldn't of happened. I am very dissappointed. This was a very expensive, frustrating experiance. What also was irritating is that he did not put back any of the blinds that he took down. He took a couple down and my husband took some down. I would have thought he would have at least put the brackets back in then asked if we want him to put them in or not. The painter that I hired to fix everything put my shades back up.

Response from Skyline Painting
I am sorry that this customer did not contact or inform me of any of her concerns. I have been a licensed contractor with the state of Oregon for over 30 years. My record with the State of Oregon Builders Board is excellent, according to their standards. My license number with them is 38873 and I welcome any potential customer to check my reputation. If I had been aware or informed in any way that this customer was less than satisfied, I would have done anything within my power to rectify any issues. Customer satisfaction is, and has always been by biggest priority as a business owner. Unfortunately, I was only made aware of this when looking myself on Angie's List. It concerns me that someone would state something potentially damaging to a person on any sight without ever saying anything to the contractor. I was given my final payment and led to believe that this customer was completely satisfied. I rescheduled this job several times for the customer's scheduling convenience and started in the middle of the week as she requested. I use drop cloths on every interior project and do not see how there could have been paint drips. However, if I had been told of some, I would have gladly taken care of them. A painting project of this type often requires that different procedures be allowed to dry or cure before moving on to the next step. This was certainly true with this project, thus the variable in hours spent working on some days. As the customer has noted, I was in the middle range of her estimates and yet she states that my bid was too expensive. As I have already said, I am disappointed that if this customer really did have these concerns, that she chose not to address them with me.
