Description of Work: Build (and help design), finish and install maple (natural finish - not painted) fireplace mantel; build, finish and install 8 new cabinet doors; replace 46 hinges and plates on multiple cabinets around house and add bumpers to all doors and some drawers; build and install 11 pull-out shelves (with boxed-in sides) into cabinets (to store DVDs, CDs, etc); install new glides on freestanding dresser; build bookshelf (free-standing long 2-shelf maple bookshelf); fix stair tread; replace cabinet doors (when I changed my mind about design and doors had to be rebuilt).

Description of Work: We contacted Scott Stapleton to help us solve two design challenges. In our living / family room, we had one large and very underutilized wall that we thought needed a substantial bookshelf / entertainment center. That said, we didn't have a real clear idea of what we wanted. Fortunately, Scott came to us with some incredible ideas and started sketching out designs and making recommendations. After a few revisions, we had our design in place and Scott started building. He only came back to our house a few times to take measurements, and ultimately he showed up with the unit built in modules - and pieced it together in our home to create a beautiful, custom-fit statement piece. Upstairs, we had an L-shaped master bedroom, with one "wing" going virtually unused. My husband had the idea of turning the space into a home office, but to do so behind a "bookshelf" that could be best compared to a Batman's "Bat Cave." In fact, he wanted the room to be "hidden" and accessible though a bookshelf/door. When he presented the idea to Scott, I was almost embarrassed. But then Scott immediately understood what my husband wanted, and started sketching out designs. As with the living room, he returned just a few times to make some extra measurements, and sure enough he showed up a few weeks later with the completed unit that just had to be assembled in place.
