Perfect, started on time, finished on time. It couldn't have gone any smoother. Very careful to protect the rest of the house, put covers on floors and carpet. Let us know what time they would be there and were always on time. Kept us informed during the entire project. I highly recommend Ed and his team. They were awesome.

Met with Ed Parsons in mid-December and the project was finished on Feb 24th. Ed was very helpful with the many decisions that had to be made, at listening to what we wanted to accomplish and providing information about the options to meet our needs. We appreciated his help in narrowing the selection of materials and colors from the many products available. The work was completed a week ahead of schedule. Mark, the foreman, and all of the workers and subcontractors were pleasant to work with, kept to the schedule, and cleaned up the area before leaving. There were absolutely no problems and the results are beautiful. Couldn't have expected a better experience.

Ed and team did a wonderful job, treated home and furnishings with great care, cleaned up each day, job stayed on time and on schedule, quality cabinets, quality installation of counters, tile and all related services, promptly fixed the very few things that needed attention afterward. Ed helped with and guided the design and materials selections with some fresh ideas while respecting my ideas. Site supervisors and the tile installer made some excellent recommendations as the job progressed that were improvements and which we integrated into the job. I would definitely hire again and recommend highly.

This was a contractor that really worked to keep all his promises, AND kept to a schedule. I was given an initial schedule of 3 weeks from start to finish for the job, and the job took 3 weeks and one day. I was warned from the outset that it could take longer if there were delays getting any materials (and they would not schedule the start until the major materials were on hand or had a firm schedule to arrive as needed), and the one day overage was because I took too long selecting my light fixtures, so that they arrived a day late. If the lights had arrived on time, the job would have been completed exactly according to schedule. They arrived on schedule every morning, and many days we would spend the first half hour of the day hashing out all sorts of detail questions, such as precisely where I wanted outlets placed, how many, finalizing the style of the cabinets, medicine cabinet placement, height, etc.etc. This process helped make sure that I got the remodel I wanted. One aspect of the job that I really appreciated was that they took extra care to respect and protect my home by such details as being sure to protect floors and such outside the bathroom being remodeled, working to contain dust as much as possible, and similar. Also, every single person I talked to who worked on my house had been working with Parsons for years. I never had any problem reaching Ed Parsons if I needed to, the job was basically completed on schedule, and quality work was done. I can say that I spent more on the remodel than I really wanted to (who wants to spend much on a remodel?), but I also didn't get cheaper quotes elsewhere to do the job that needed to be done. So I would say the cost was competitive, too. Putting all of that together, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

In the summer of 2012 I interviewed by phone or in-person 5 companies as I searched for a contractor to handle a big remodel job on my house (all surfaces to be painted, all floor coverings replaced, new cabinets and counters in kitchen). I had seen Parson's display at local remodel shows and traveled to the other side of town to see their showroom. Parson's was one of the 3 contractors I asked to provide an estimate. The company owner came to my house on schedule. He spent only 20 minutes looking around and reviewing the list of changes I was looking to have done. (The other 2 contractors each spent up to 2 hours gathering information.) Then ...? Nothing. Never heard from him again. If this was not the type of job he takes, he could have said that when I initially called or when I visited the showroom and showed him the detailed and prioritized list of work to be done. He wasted my time (and his own) by agreeing to provide an estimate and then taking himself out of the running without get back in contact. What a shame because it looks like they do nice work. I ended up selecting one of the other two contractors -- a hard choice since both were good -- and the $55K job was completed about a year ago.

They are in the process of giving me a bid for the much larger job. They were very professional. They did it right when they said they would do. They are capable of doing anything one wanted. They will just have a closer look, and that's it. The bid was $3800. He was a good and honest man. He gave me $500 off in the end because he overdid the job. It is pretty unusual. They are a little on an expensive side, but one has to pay more to get the better job. He is bidding in for two bathrooms.

We had a complete kitchen remodel with walls taken out. They took an old, dark, cramped, 50's-sized space that had been kind of remodeled sometime in the 80's and turned it into a light, airy and big contemporary kitchen that we are very happy with. We had planned this remodel for a few years and received bids from several contractors, but Ed Parsons was the first person we met who gave us the confidence we needed to move forward with the project. He is a cabinet maker which allowed us to get exactly what we wanted because he could manipulate cabinet size to the space that we had to work with. Ed really understands what can and can't be done to a space, almost at first glance. He was able to look at what we wanted and the space we had and come up with a working solution that gave us what we wanted, something the other contractors were unable to do. Ed was patient with our questions, he demonstrated subject matter expertise in all areas of construction, he stuck to his original cost proposal, and he completed the project in half the time other contractors had estimated. Ed and his team operate with the highest degree of personal integrity and pride in workmanship. Overall we had a very positive experience working with Ed and we would not hesitate to work with them again for another remodel project.

We did have a crack around the outside of the bathroom wall from their work, but they stood by their word and fixed it right away. We were extremely pleased with the service. We virtually had no problems from beginning to end. The estimate was excellent, but I would have liked a more detailed plan. I have done a project like this before and those plans were more specific and architectural. However, he did exactly what he said he would do. Anytime I found something we were not pleased with, they changed it. They were very clear and up front about the costs. They made sure to let me know in advance of any changes to the price. They made a few modifications to the original plan and it worked out well. Bill is an outstanding craftsman and we are very happy with his work.
Description of Work: They remodeled the bathroom and kitchen. They put a pantry in the kitchen with slide out shelves and it looks fantastic. He also re did a center island with a granite counter top.

See above for the story. I would tell potential customers not to be pushed and if you see their works being pushed to end the job without doing it throughly, to complain.
Description of Work: The job was hurried form start to finish. The carpenter who did most of the shower work including the tile, was pushed the entire time to finish quickly. His ability as a tile setter was minimal. The clean up was lacking. My husband tried to clean the tiles on the walls of the shower as they were coated with something that dripped. We had no hot water in the shower even after two calls. My husband figured out how to get the hot water and did it himself. There were no knobs on the shower door so we called and they came back to install them days later. The owner showed up on noon of the last day they were here (they finished a day early) and wanted the last 50% of the cost of the job right then. The contract said payment in full the last day of the job but the job was not done yet? He was very upset that we wanted to wait till the job was finished later in the day so the carpenter got pushed harder to leave by 4:00pm that day. The owner left and he was furious. All we wanted was to review the work when the job was complete, then pay him. Thus, they finished that day but without hot water and knobs on the sliding door or washing down the tile. The shower floor also developed a problem a few weeks later. They came and cleaned it and blamed it on "soap" coming off of my wash rag" in the shower. We suspect the floor was finished too quickly and we are hoping there is no mold problem under it.

It was a great remodeling experience. Work began on 2/4 and finished on 2/28. Weekdays only which was fine with me. There was a break for a few days while the grout dried. This allowed us to continue to use the other bathroom until the switch was made. The majority of the work was done by Bill Cannon who is a peach to work with. Very friendly, honest and hard-working. He protected my carpet and floors from the front door to the work area. He arrived when he said he would and worked steadily every day breaking only for lunch. At the end of every day, he cleaned the work area and secured the room so our curious cat stayed out. Bill was very thorough and made sure each bathroom looked great when the work was done. Very approachable. Questions were answered and he made welcomed suggestions on other improvements I'd like to make in the future.
Description of Work: Updated two bathrooms. Master bath: Removed and disposed of entire shower stall, light fixture, vinyl floor and underlayment. Reframed the shower, installed new shower pan, new plumbing ie; drain and fixtures. Tiled entire stall. Installed new floor, light fixture, fan and shower door. Painted entire bathroom. In second bath that has a tub, Removed and disposed of the wall surrounding the tub, the floor and fan. Installed new plumbing, tile, floor, fan and a new door. Painted the entire bathroom.

We did not use in the end but they seem verycompedient
Description of Work: We had Ed Parsons submit an estimate for a kitchen remodel with cabinets, counts, floor and tile wall. He came and measured our current kitchen and then we visited his showroom. There was also some moving of appliance positions involved. The bid was $1000 more than another proposal but on a $50,000 job with me still buying the appliances on top of that they were for all purposes the same. The reason we went with the other bid had nothing to do with quality or professionalism. My wife just found out she had something in common with the other bidder that was not work related. From what I saw I am confident that they would do a great job.

Ed came to our home and estimated a bathroom remodel complete with re-tiling and custom cabinets. His estimate was very thorough and professionally done. I was impressed with the level of work he showed us and the information he provided for what we needed. In the end, we decided to move in a different direction from the complete overhaul of the bathroom. But, I would go back to Parson's for future work.

I had three bids for building an office bookcase and installing new base, window and door surrounds, and crown molding in my office. We've worked with Parsons before. We were very pleased with the work he did at a previous home we owned several years ago. With Ed Parsons never calling me back regarding our mantel or providing me with the quote on the work following the beachhouse walkthrough, I am extremely disappointed in Parsons Remodeling. This is not the same company we did business with several years ago. Frankly, had I known he wasn't going to follow through and provide me with a quote for the beachhouse work, I would not have wasted my time or his by meeting him there. I would have to say the same thing about the mantel. He has never responded to my offer or issue regarding it. Our meeting was over two months ago. I have yet to hear back from him.
Description of Work: I had this company install new mantel and crown molding. He did great on the crown. We had concerns about finished mantel. I met with Ed Parsons and showed/described concerns. My concern centered around appearance to us that the mantel had some detail that was not square. Although, upon checking it was square, the illusion was enough to move us to ask Ed to redo it. Others who looked at the mantel saw the same problem we did. There were others, who did not, and thought it looked fine. Regardless, I offered to pay one half of the cost to redo mantel. Ed said he would consider. Then we discussed additional work at the home that needed to be done, and even more work at our vacation home at the coast that needed to be done. Following meeting at the coast, Ed never called or sent me a quote. In fact I never heard from him again.
