I have paperless billing from Frontier, had automatic payments set, no problems with payments although they have increased my monthly charge to $118 which I consider absolutely insane for the low quality, commercial filled garbage they supply with their "Prime" package. I do watch Netflix, YouTube and the like about 10 hours/week, but at those prices I might as well go to the movies. Today, my TV was abruptly cut off. Called the number on the screen, they told me yet again that I had "misdialed." Transferred me to customer service after excruciating rinkytink music on hold. Customer service said my service had been cut because of an overdue bill, but I received NO notice via email, my normal mode of communication. They said they sent it US Postal Service, but since I am "paperless," I must have thought it was junk mail and directly recycled it. This would have been due to Chase Bank's having changed my debit card and its number I suspect, I must have had the recurring payments on the old one. I paid the overdue amount immediately to customer service, but they tell me it will take from 2 hours to 24 hours to hook up my service again. Meantime, they have increased my monthly rate from about $75/month to $118/month, reduced the channels they supply with the Prime package, and several of the remaining ones, even with all those insulting commercials, have deteriorated in image quality to the point where they are unwatchable. I lived many years in the 3rd world and experienced typical technical problems there, but our contemporary capitalist monoculture has us headed right down to that level. Time to cut the cord.
Description of Work: Crashed at halftime during the Superbowl and did not come back on until after the game was over. Denied that they knew of any problem, but their own graph of trouble calls spiked at exactly the time I lost service. Today, service abruptly cut. After long, tedious climb through their phone tree (the telephone number their trouble screen shows is, they told me incorrect, and they blamed me for misdialing! finally transferred to customer service.They say the problem is corrected, but it will take from 2 to 24 hours for me to see it!

The only thing I don’t like is that you cannot record a movie white you cable box is turned on. Other than that we have not had any problems. They came out a couple of weeks ago and did not charge us.

First of all, you never get to talk to a local person. We had to have some service last fall when our phone line was acting up, and I think they came out here three times. Finally, somebody came out and actually fixed it because he figured out it wasn't at our house, it was like a mile away at the box. But everyone else kept saying our lines were old and we needed to have them replaced. And that's typical. I've called about changing the service and I get a different story every time I call. They call you to follow up and make sure it got fixed, but then, when you tell them it didn't they send somebody else and they don't fix it either. When they come here they're generally professional.
Description of Work: For land-line phone service I have Frontier. It's about $50 a month.

They are adequate. The few times that I talked to them on the phone has really been a no problem. I haven't had to hold forever and they always have live person to answer my question. I never had any billing issues with them.

I discontinued service with them in June 2012. The home phone service was okay. I was really ticked off because I don't make a lot of long distance calls and they charged me $12-$15 a month because I didn't make any long distance calls. We had them for several years. Anytime I went to use the computer it was down and I had to call them. I would have to spend anywhere from 4 to 6 hours on the phone doing hoops and jumps. It took hours and hours to get the computer going again. Half the time I would get somebody who couldn't speak English. The service was terrible. I would be without computer service for months at a time until I found a day that I could sit and mess with their computer technicians. I bought a new computer and paid to have it hooked up and running. That computer guy sat there and messed with those people for 1 1/2 hours. I switched companies and he came back and had it up and running in 30 minutes. They stunk. Their prices were competitive but they didn't provide any service. I got a letter from them wanting me to come back. I took the time to write him back with all my frustrations and it came back unknown. They were one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. I also lost my home phone number with them.

Their service came with the house when we bought it. They are great. I make a lot of calls and I don’t have to worry whether it is five cents a minute or eight cents a minute. They are good with their pricing and service. They didn’t have internet here when we moved. But they started it a few months later. I went from a limited expensive satellite to their DSL service. It is unlimited. If there is an outage, they are on it quickly. Even setting up the Wi-Fi was quick. It was done in record time. I like them a lot.
