+ 2 moreRaoul was able to connect with me very quickly since there was a deadline with the sell of the house. Once the dry rot was fixed, the source of the water damage was found. Previous owners had not replaced all the LP siding underneath the deck, which softened and allowed water to enter. The LP siding was torn off, the subfloor fixed and new siding put on. They had to disassemble half of the deck to reach the area to be repaired. Raoul and his crewman efficiently reassembled the deck and finished the project in a timely manner. They also fixed the dryer vent and cleaned up after themselves. I found Raoul to be very knowledgable and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family.
Description of Work: Dry rot in kitchen was repaired. Source of water damage found and resolved.

They worked well with us to resolve any issues, and the pricing for any un-bid changes was always fair and reasonable. They were always punctual and if they had a interruption or delay they notified us of a time change, which were few. When a special order item arrived damaged, they worked with us to put some work on hold until a replacement arrived, with no additional costs to the job. I would highly recommend them for work.

It took a while to schedule the work--my memory is almost a month--as they are pretty busy and we had a small job. However they came when scheduled and were very professional and rapid in performing the work. Raul checked on every step if he did not perform the work himself. There was one final thing we had done which was replacing the threshold board for the front door. Raul found the correct match for this board, which had been cracked, and replaced it.
Description of Work: Replaced baseboard in living room, master bedroom and hall, and painted it.

Our new wall looks like it's always been there and blends in seamlessly. All repairs are not even noticeable and blend with the original surroundings so well that even we cannot tell. All work performed met our expectations and we will not hesitate to use them again. So glad to have finally found a reliable, high quality handyman. Would definitely recommend.

In fact there were a couple of plugs that were acting up and he looked at them and fixed them for me for nothing. I thought that was really nice. The price was comparable. It was right in the same price range as the others I compared. Their responsiveness was very good.
Description of Work: I had an electric socket on one of the walls burn. They got an electrician to do the electrical part and then I had them do the drywall and repainting.

+ 2 moreRaoul showed up for the estimate on time, was no nonsense, and gave a estimate within a day or so. Based upon his ratings at Angie's list, I accepted his bid. He had his assistant do much of the drywall work, but he came by frequently to monitor and did a good deal of work himself (e.g., the door installation). The work was done quickly and very well. His contract stated that the estimate might not cover all costs, and I wondered if he would add to the estimated amount. He did not. So, the work was done very competently and on time for the estimated bid. I have no complaints and I think I got very good value for my money.
Description of Work: Installed new exterior door, repaired and replaced drywall, and retextured and painted new and repaired drywall.

+ 3 moreAs I mentioned, I have used Wonderman's services previously. Raoul is professional and prompt when coming to bid my jobs, he and his men do a wonderful job of cleaning up at the end of EACH day they are there....not just at the end of the job! They lay down protective covering on the floors and make sure the furniture is covered before working inside my house.
Description of Work: I have a 1970-ish house that I am slowly remodeling. This trip (I've used Raoul and his company before) they tore all the old rock off the fireplace wall, moved an electrical outlet, removed some old paneling, took out the old wall AC unit, etc and sheetrocked the whole thing. As I mentioned, I have used Wonderman's services before (dismantled a carport roof and returned my garage to it's former glory) and have been impressed by his professionalism and quality work. I can highly recommend this company and will be using them again for my next house project...which will be building a custom mantle for the fireplace and installing the tile I am currently shopping for!

Didn't waste any time and installed the four light fixtures in just over an hour. Very professional and took the time to give me instructions on how to change the light bulbs on fixtures which can be a little tricky. I will absolutely use Wonderman again for future projects. It's a relief to have a handyman service that I can trust to do a good job at a fair price.

I've dealt with contractors in the past and I was very impressed with how professional they were. I decided to hire them for the job. They did what they said they would do and finished on schedule. This experience was so positive I decided to hire them to remodel the home. This feedback for remodel can be seen in my review.
Description of Work: We had a pipe freeze and break in garage. Wonderman Company ended up having to replace all drywall in the garage and paint finished walls. They also took care of some mold issues that had affected some of the wood framing above drywall.

+ 7 moreAbout 7 years ago I did my own home remodel and I wish I had used Angie's List and Wonderman for may remodel. My experience for my own remodel was a nightmare and nothing like what I experienced with this company. They were always professional, and kept me informed at all times. They did little extras that just made the newly remodeled home just shine. This home is now being rented to a family that I know, and they are so happy with everything. I feel very lucky to have found Wonderman Remodeling & Handyman Services. If I need anything done at my house big or small I know who to call.
Description of Work: Complete remodel of 1970's home. There was no part of this house that wasn't touched by this remodel. This house had not really had much done to it except for a kitchen remodel back in the mid 80's, paint and carpet. We decided to remove walls to give the home an open concept look and feel, which included removing load bearing walls, partial walls which Wonderman handled. Wonderman crew remodeled kitchen, bathrooms, replaced carpet with beautiful wood flooring on first floor of home throughout. Bathrooms upstairs and downstairs have beautiful porcelain tile flooring, tub surrounds also done in porcelain and mosaic tile. The stairs and bedrooms upstairs were carpeted. Each bedroom upstairs had a dormer and they finished off area which was open studs with drywall. This makes the dormers more useful and keeps whatever you store in there clean. All Doors were replaced in house. Fireplace was a floor to ceiling brick and they updated with beautiful stone. The hearth proved to be a challenge but they used their years of experience to come up with a resolution which matched the hearth perfectly with the stone. It is a focal point of the living room. Entire house was painted inside. They also had plumbing updated from old galvanized piping to current as well as electrical was brought up to code. This is basically a brand new home. Outside deck was refinished. All lighting fixtures were replaced with current modern style. Permits were pulled for plumbing, electrical and structural work that was done and passed inspections. They have great design ideas and will help you if you need it. There are little things they also did but there would be to many to list.

+ 6 moreRaoul arrived as promised, and I discussed with him some additional work that I wanted done and which he agreed to do. (Our original agreement didn't include the electrical outlet for the stove.) It was an all-day job, and was made more difficult because I had a stove and refrigerator scheduled for delivery that same day. However, Raoul was very accommodating and worked to get done prior to the delivery of the appliances. The original plan was to add "orange peel" texture to the ceiling, but Raoul recommended instead that it be textured to match the dining room and I agreed. Raoul was very careful to protect my floors and new kitchen cabinetry from damage, and left the area very clean. The finished job looks wonderful, and I'm so happy to not have a big square cove and fluorescent light fixtures! The LEDs provide excellent lighting, which is what was needed as the kitchen doesn't get much natural light. I've arranged to have Raoul come out to paint the new drywall, insert the finish kits properly (the ceiling had to dry before that could be done), and to install a new electrical outlet in my garage.
Description of Work: Drywall patch and repair to cove ceiling in kitchen; removed two fluorescent fixtures and replaced the with 6" can lights to match other lighting; added LED finish kits to all can lights; replaced electrical outlet to meet requirements for a new stove.

+ 8 moreThe project went very well over all. We had purchased products from Home Depot, and had Raoul do all the install and finishing on everything. There were a few problems with products received, but Raoul was able to come up with solutions to take care of all of it. He worked on 2 of the bathrooms almost to completion, and then started on the master bath. He installed 3 vanities, 3 countertops, 4 sinks, 4 faucets and 4 light fixtures. He built a frame around 2 of the mirrors, so we were able to keep those. He had to do some wall repair work and painting also. He also removed and installed a new linen closet in the master bath that was extremely large. I am very happy with the results.
Description of Work: He replaced vanities, countertops, sinks, faucets, mirrors, lighting, etc in 3 bathrooms.

+ -1 moreI had a bathroom that had been completely gutted and stripped down to the studs. I had Wonderman Handyman Services come hang the drywall without doing any of the finish work. They questioned me a couple of times about doing the finish work and didn't like that they couldn't finish the walls. I also told them not to clean up, but they cleaned up and swept the floor before leaving. They ran about an hour and a half over the time allotted by the Angie's List deal, so it cost me twice as much. It seemed like they were trying to drag out the time and weren't moving very fast during that last hour and a half. I probably could have pushed them to speed up more than I did, but I was completely exhausted that day and didn't have the energy to deal with it. I was very grateful that they were there doing the work. They did offer some suggestions about the remodel, which I appreciated. Overall, they did a good job and were pleasant guys to deal with.

+ -1 moreAs above, I have used his services several times and generally found Raoul to be efficient and good at a range of tasks. The only time I wasn't happy with the work done was when he delegated a task to an assistant who made a mess of it (involved fixing something on the patio, made it worse). At this point though it seems like it's not possible to get in his schedule so I posted this so other people wouldn't waste their time trying.
Description of Work: I've used this service in the past and most of the time was happy with the work. At this point though he's not scheduling new appointments--he says he's not available for the next several weeks and is not able or willing to schedule further out.
