Description of Work: This contractor helped repair a hole in our bathroom ceiling that was caused by a roof leak. I was impressed by the cost effective suggestion made by them to cover the entire ceiling with a thin sheet rock layer, avoiding costly work in the attic. They closed the hole and retextured, with the final product looking very clean and reasonably precise for the price. Unfortunately, there was some disappointment with over spray leaving some slight mess on fixtures and side walls. Our toilet seat was also gouged and will need to be replaced - so they didn't get a solid A due to these issues.

Very Badly!
Description of Work: I left an email for this company about ceramic tiling a outdoor brick BBQ a week or so ago. Someone from the company called me back the next day and gave me an approximate bid based on the size of the BBQ. No one came to access the job or see what I was retiling with, I was only given an approximate price based on an hourly rate. Additionally I was not given a call back or direct e-mail address to contact the company if needed, nor did the company send me a confirming email with the date, time and hourly rate. The day the job was to begin the company called; I told them I needed to cancel as I was ill. The gentleman on the telephone could care less telling me "well there is a fee for cancelation". Not wanting to argue the particulars when I wasn't feeling well, I did inform him I would leave a message concerning this on Angies List and I wasn't paying a fee just because I was ill. (Wouldn't I love to induce a fee on whoever gave me the flu!) Bottom line is the company made no actual investemt in my job; were not even interested enough to look at the job or send a confirming e-mail, and now they want to charge me for something they didn't do? What's wrong with this picture? As an elderly person I feel taken advantage of and abused. I have additional tiling jobs that need to be done, I would never hire this company based on this experience. Beware!

We had multiple contacts with this consumer (she is NOT and elderly person) and all our appointments require cancellation at least the night before the appointment so that our technicians can be re-scheduled to work elsewhere. We understand people have emergencies and/or become ill. However, this person had an opportunity to cancel the appointment or RESCHEDULE but she rudely said "CANCEL THAT!" when we called to let her know we were already on our way. When asked for the reason for cancellation she said she did not need the appointment. We are a small company and have other jobs pending the completion of her job and can not simply call other customers and have them open their schedules at the spur of the moment just because we need to fill a space in our scheduling due to a cancellation. This is common sense. She says that we had no investment in this project. What do you call one of our techs being out of work for the day? Had she rescheduled even at such a late time we would have ignored the fee but here intentions were not to get the work done. We asked why she did not cancel with notice (either by phone or email), she said she did not have our phone number. But get this, she had called and emailed us and even was able to find us on Angies List to first schedule the appointment AND second put this inappropriate and dishonest report! Once we mentioned a fee, she then she added that she was ill. As far as seeing the work, the appointment was a consensual appointment with HER authorization to get the work done even without the in home estimate (after she provided all the details over the phone). No one forced her into the appointment, she is simply trying to be as hurtful to our companies reputation as possible. The truth is, she threatened that if we were to charge her a fee, she would put a "nasty" report on Angie's List. We did not intend to charge her but were simply making the point that advance notice would have been nice. We don't like to charge for cancellations but we are the ones that lose when someone does not cancel their appointments with advance notice and then accuse us of lies like these. We are grateful that we did not actually enter into the transaction with this individual! Who knows what she would have done then.
