Company was able to schedule right away or we could wait. Owner came out a few days after purchasing their Big Deal to measure and give estimate for additional square footage to complete the job. He explained the best process which was to start work on a Friday, as we would need to leave the house overnight due to fumes of the surfacing product and inability to walk on the floors for a few hours after each coat. They arrived on time, kept me informed every step of the way, and returned Saturday morning for final coat. When I returned home that evening to a completed job, was very happy with the results. It looks just like new. They cleaned up well inside and out.

Ovi was great about communicating with us from start to finish, including his quote, which was separated room by room so we could pick only what we could afford. We got 4 different bids and his was not the lowest but it did include the moving and storage of our furniture, which was a big hassle if not included. He was timely and professional and clearly LOVES wood floors, in addition to being an expert. His crew had a great attitude as well and showed up on time and even finished more quickly than we expected. It took 2 days to sand the entire main floor and one day to seal them. We had to stay out of the house that night as the fumes are very strong. His crew came back Monday and moved all the furniture back with a smile. I have to tell you - I would absolutely work with Ovi and hew crew again in a heartbeat. We had several other jobs done on the house as a "test" to see which contractor we wanted to hire for our kitchen remodel. Treadline Construction will get this job when we are ready because of their attitude, professionalism, and price. I even took before and after pictures but they really don't do justice to the fantastic job Treadline Construction did on our wood floors. Our house was built in the 30's and the floors look new again.

The whole experience was great!
Description of Work: Ovi and his crew (Adam and Mitch) restored our well worn (19 year old) wood flooring in the kitchen, front entrance and hallway to a beautiful condition. From the first meeting to assess the job, get a quote, pick a color to getting the job completed was a great experience. We we very excited to come home to beautifully restored floors. We hope to have Ovi give us a quote on redoing our cabinet doors, drawers and countertops! His company also does carpeting which we plan to consider as well.

Everything went smoothly. The job took two days and they were able to schedule on exactly the day I requested. The floors look great, and all of the personnel were punctual and professional. Of course, only time will tell how the floors hold up in the future, but they certainly look good to start off. Would definitely use again and recommend to others.

Called Treadline on Monday regarding their Angie's deal and to look at my wood floors to see if they could be screened. Ovi came by that day around 5 pm. He was very honest about the condition of my wood floors after 9 years of my lab playing "fetch" on them. He said that screening would not give me what I was looking for and would really be a waste of my money. And, yes, he was right. He gave me the price of screening the floors and then gave me the price for a dustless sanding and 2 coats of swedish finish. I was overjoyed at his cost. About 5 years ago I had a contracter give me a price for refinishing my floors and it was over $5000! Ovi said he had an opening on Wednesday, so I went for it. I cleared out all the light furniture, everything on my kitchen countertops and nick naks (they move anything over 50 lbs) and hauled my cat and dog over to my mom's house. His crew arrived promptly at 8:30 am and answered all my questions. I told them I had just had my windows cleaned and they said they would do their best to keep them as clean as possible (and they did - even though dustless is such a breakthrough for flooring - little particles do fly around but my windows were very clean as they masked and vacumned to keep the dust down). I went in that evening and was a bit overwhelmed by the fumes but the floors looked wonderful. The second coat made them look even better. Gone are the nicks, scratches and the water stain where a plant leaked and I didn't catch it in time. My floors are bright and light again. On Wednesday morning they came back and moved all the heavy furniture and fridge back in place and gave me information on how to care for the floors as they cure. The Swedish finish does have a fume factor and we have had our windows open about 24/7 to get the smell out of the house but it is evaporating and should be gone in a few days. My dog now has "dog booties" so I hope to keep this floor in great condition for years to come. Thanks guys for a job well done :)

This team did a fantastic job refinishing fir floors in an 1889 home. They were professional, friendly, and did beautiful work. This unit is part of a four-plex and so I needed these floors done quickly in order to get the place rented. They finished right on time. I will hire them again the next time I need floors refinished.

Had a difficult time synching schedules with contractor (Angie's List deal timeframe vs. my out-of-town work schedule). However, Ovi made a sincere effort to accomodate. Scheduled a look with him, and the upcharges for having over 100 sq. ft of room seemed fairly reasonable, and he was certainly knowledgable and professional about explaining finish options. He did forget about the appointment we originally scheduled, and we had to reschedule when I called to ask where he was at the appointed time. As day of service approached, I reconfirmed date and time of appointment, and was told crew would show no later than 9AM-ish. With that information, I arranged to have a friend come to the house to let the workers in. 9:30 came and went with no sign of workers and no call from contractor. I called Ovi and left a voicemail requesting an update, since my house-watching friend was committing her time to me, and sitting at my house with very little to keep her occupied except a rambunctious 2 year old. Ovi called back a little under an hour later, and while he wasn't rude, he was a little abrupt in telling me that his crews line out their day as they find most efficient, and are essentially autonomous in this way. His crew had decided to flip-flop my job and another they had that day, and they'd be at my house around noon. I expressed my unhappiness at not being informed of the change, to which Ovi replied (of course I'm paraphrasing here), "As long as they get their jobs done in the course of the day, how they do it is up to them. Besides, I really don't make any money on these Angie's List deals, so it's not a high priority". He wasn't being a jerk at all, but with this matter-of-fact statement, I was pretty much done with him. My thinking was that he may not be making money off the Angie's List deal, but with a response like that, there's no way he was getting any more of my money at full rate. Way to drill a hole in your own canoe. Work crew showed up at about 1pm (not noon). No complaints here. Although young, both were polite and professional. Sanding was, as far as I could tell, truly dustless, and deleted far more blemishes in the floor than I expected. First coat of Swedish was applied, and I was told they'd be back in a few hours to apply the final coat. Floor looked amazing at this point. Several hours later, the fellas returned as promised, and screened and coated the floor. Again, both were polite, respectful, and very professional. I got a laugh out of the guy who had literally never seen lath-and-plaster walls before. I was informed at completion of the second coat that the room needed to remain closed and be protected from air circulation for at least four hours. At this point the boys left, and as far as I could tell, the floor was near to perfect. Fast forward 5 hours. It's almost 10pm, and the fumes from the catalyzing finish were getting a bit much for me. I opened the door of the room and gently tested the finish. It was clearly hard enough to walk on with clean stocking feet, so I walked across the floor to crack a window and get some ventilation going. Something caught a thread on my sock, which I thought might be a splinter, so I bent down to take a look. There was a little black chunk of something embedded in the finish which caught my sock. Actually, there were dozens and dozens of them throughout the entire room, across the whole floor. The screens the guys had been using to screen the floor between coats had been disintegrating, and apparently they forgot/neglected to vacuum after screening, or did so inadequately. I spent the next 90 minutes on hands and knees picking out as many of these little goobers as I could find. I wanted to get them out before full finish cure, and I'm pretty sure the contractor was not going to come out to my house at 11pm to redo the second coat. Normally I would have brought this to his attention as a callback, but with the dismissive attitude about this job, and the scheduling hassles, I decided it was not worth my time to bother. Overall, I was very pleased with the professionalism of the work crew, and am satisfied enough with the ultimate finished condition of the floor (though I would have asked for a re-do). However, I'm left with impression that Ovi means well but has a hard time being organized and making his clients feel valued regardless of the size of the job. Nice enough guy, but I won't use this company again, and cannot recommend to others based on my experience.

Response from Treadline Construction
We are sorry Mr. [Member Name Removed] was unhappy with our services in 2012. We never heard about any issues, and certainly would have responded to them at that time to ensure he was 100% satisfied. It is interesting that Angie's List only now puts this review into our system, 4 years LATER in 2016. Again, we apologize for Mr. [Member Name Removed]'s experience, and sorry that he didn't reach out to us in 2012 to work to address the issues he states he experienced. Its unfortunate that he contradicts his statements about the owner being rude, yet he is a 'nice enough guy' at the same time, so we are a little confused on whether or not this customer had a good or bad experience with our customer service. Debris in finish is a small punch list item, and is easily remedied. We encourage our customers to contact us right away if they notice a punch list item, so that we can ensure their ultimate satisfaction. If we don't know about it, how can we address it? Communication is key on both parties, and we work to be extremely communicative in every project, and we can only hope that the customer does the same thing.

They arrived when they said they would and did wonders for my hardwoods. They finished when they said they would, and told of mail dropping down the slot onto the closet floor which they'd just finished, but they fixed it with no sign that that had happened. They were very pleasant guys and it all went just as they had predicted. A few cat urine stains which had been there didn't come out, but they hadn't promised they would. I'd use them again.

I would say that it went well, a personable young man came out and discussed options for flooring, and methods to deal with the wrought iron railing that goes up the stairs and down the long part of the hall. The railing was welded in place at original construction, and would not me moveable without major effort and/or damage. He gave us his best ideas on dealing with the railing, recommendations on hardwood, finish, etc. He gave us an off the cuff ballpark estimate, and told us that he would send an e-mail with a written estimate. We had called for other estimates, and we had two estimates in hand, and after about 2 weeks we decide that we would not hear from Treadline, and accepted another bid, which seemed to be a good price and was timely. We did eventually receive a professional and business like written estimate, but because of the lack of timeliness, we had already accepted another bid.

We apologize for the confusion regarding the timeliness of the estimate for the railing work at your home. As you stated, at the estimate appointment, options for your project were discussed and an round estimate amount was given. However, due to the fact that there were numerous details that needed to be thoroughly investigated, we wanted to make sure that we were able to give an accurate estimate for the work to be completed. We take our work and our customer's homes very seriously, to ensure that materials and labor are addressed properly. We are sorry that you were in a hurry and were not willing to wait to work with our company.

I really liked the company, from the first phone conversation, to getting the estimate done, to the technician performing the work. I honestly didn't notice much of a difference, even right away, but I guess that's normal for a buff and coat. We had initially thought we'd completely refinish the floors, but that is a lot more work and money, and the buff and coat should preserve them for at least a few more years. Obie was wonderful to work with. Made me feel like he puts his customers first and willing to make us happy by whatever means.

It is unfortunate that we were issued a B on price and on professionalism. I pride my self on giving 110 percent to customer satisfaction. We did not do any hardwood installation as the report says but we did refinish his floors that were rittled with scratches and damage from their dog. We sanded and applied finish as per a pre-agreed price and did all aspects of the floor refinishing in a 2 day period as discussed and finished on time. I did receive a phone call from the client stating that the home owners wife was not pleased with the satin finish and felt that it should be "shinier", which is not a defect, but an aesthetic issue. We bent over backwards for these folks and came again the following week on a Wednesday to meet their schedule. We did a fantastic job applying the 3rd 'free' coat of finish but received a call from the home owner the following Friday that we had some small "bubbles" in the finish. I was there that same day to view the "bubbles" but more importantly found a 10ft gouge in the hardwood where the homeowner had deliberately dragged the refrigerator across the floor by himself and wanted me to repair the gouge. The bubbles were a small "touch up' item but I again agreed to re-coat the floor for a 4th time against my better judgment. The homeowner offered me another $100 to take care of his "portion" of the gouge. ( unfortunately, $100 won't buy a gallon of floor finish) I agreed in the hopes of creating yet another happy customer. I offered to come right back and resolve the coat immediately, as I was hoping to get finished, get paid, and move on. They declined and scheduled me for almost a month later. I had to beg them to write me a check for at least half to cover some portions of the labor up to that point, so they offered to mail it to me. We returned on time when the date came and re-coated the floor again. So to re-cap, we moved the refrigerator, we sanded the floor, coated it well above industry standards 4 times and when I returned to set the refrigerator and make sure they were 100 percent satisfied, he stiffed me for the final balance, because he felt that it was the "least I could do for them." I guess I should be satisfied with the all of the A's and only two B's they gave me, however the customer is not fully truthful in his comments. They are very fortunate they chose to do business with Treadline, as most contractors would have walked away. Treadline takes the utmost care in making sure the job is finished and the customer is happy, however there are some customers that choose to be unhappy, choose not to pay for the service, and decide to use the internet to try and resolve any issues.

The floor was sanded; gaps between the boards were filled, and finish applied.
Description of Work: We had hardwood floors in two rooms refinished. I'm not sure that the floors had ever been treated and I've been in the home for approximately 20 years. They were in desperate need of some TLC. The work completed was absolutely outstanding. The men came and moved the heavy furniture (sofa, china cabinet, dining room table) out of the rooms and returned when the floor was dry to replace the pieces they had removed. We were advised in advance of the process. I give A+++ for the specific work and the customer service we received!

I liked all of the work that they did. They were very responsive to everything. It's a great company and nice to work with. Their price was very fair.
Description of Work: I used the services of TREADLINE Construction DBA Strada Flooring & Design towards the end of last month. They refinished my floors and did some upgrading in the kitchen.

Ovie was very proactive in contacting me after I bought a Big Deal. It took some time to schedule an appointment convenient for both of us, but he was always very polite and cooperative. He came to my home and analyzed the work needed to bring my floors back into good condition. The previous finisher didn't use proper technique when sanding and dug into the shoebase at the floor level. In addition, he used the wrong color oak and finish. Ovie explained all this to me and says he can stain the newer floors to match the original ones. He also explained that his techniques will not harm the shoe base and advised using a finish that will wear much better. The quoted price covers 800 ft with a 10 yr. warranty and includes stain, repairing pet stained flooring (bad cat), and $500 credit for Angies List promotion. Treadline also provides an onsite trailer for storage of furniture at no cost, including moving (with reasonable exclusions). I will definitely pursue this early in 2012.
Description of Work: Estimated cost of refinishing hardwood floors in living room, dining room, and 3 bedrooms.
