I am "technology challenged", When my computer has issues, I feel frustrated and defeated. Marvin was great! He tackled the problem, explained things to me in ways that I could understand (and didn't make me feel stupid!), and empowered me with step by step instructions of things I can do to check out problems. I would definitely recommend Softserve PC. Marvin, you will hear from me again!

I can only echo what the other reviewers have said. Marvin not only got rid of the malware problems but offered advice and installed several programs to increase security, speed, and efficiency on my computer. In addition he got rid of some unnecessary stuff I had brought over from my old computer. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone.

Not only did Marvin debug my computer, but he also explained what he was doing and why. He also gave me a free program which rates the sites I use and warns me if the site is suspicious. He knew which add-on programs could easily be deleted to speed up my computer. He had many great tips for better keeping my computer working efficiently. He was fast, reasonable, and knew his stuff. I would highly recommend him: in fact, I have already told friends about how great he is!

Wonderful experience. Marvin was early, very professional, and engaging. It was clear he knew what he was doing and went right to work to solve our problem, and giving us pointers along the way. If we have another PC problem we know who to call now!

Marvin arrived on time and was very pleasant...he wasn't even bothered by my barking dogs! He quickly determined that my external hard drive wasn't operating, the virus protection software was ineffective, and that my internal hard drive was nearing the end of its life. He added new virus protection and cleaned up all the garbage that had accumulated on my hard drive. He advised against using Internet Explorer, and added Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox for internet access. He also recommended a different printer, but I'll deal with that later. When Marvin finished, my computer was running much faster and more efficiently. He is returning today to install new internal and external hard drives and sync my android smartphone to my home computer. Marvin was very efficient, and explained what he was doing and why as he went along. I believe his pricing is very reasonable, considering that in the past I have paid another provider far more for similar service. I highly recommend Softserve PCs... I found them to be prompt, effective, and extremely knowledgeable.

Right on time. Marvin loves to teach and explain everything he's doing so I could understand the why's. Extremely knowledgeable. No upselling. When it's time to buy a new PC, he's the one I'll call.

The service went very well. He even spent extra time on service without charging an additional fee. He cleaned up my son’s gaming laptop and talked to my son about specifics on the computer. He did a nice job of communicating with my son the issues. He even had a nice discussion with my son about what his next move should be on a computer. He called ahead of time to ask if it would be okay for him to come to appointment early. He was very polite and knowledgeable.

Marvin and Ritah were very responsive. Because I live so close, I took the laptop to them rather than wait for a time for Marvin to come to my house. He communicated by hone with me concerning the issues I was having and turned the computer around quickly. Highly recommend.

When Marvin arrived I explained what I had downloaded onto my computer and told him that I was very nervous that I did something very wrong. That was the beginning of my personal training class on how my computer works, what I should and shouldn?t do in the future with downloads and then he started working his magic. First, Marvin explained that the antivirus software and backup system that I have had for a long time really wasn?t a good one and was not doing much to keep my computer safe. This is when I got a bit upset because I was paying $22.50 per month for this service and immediately Marvin looked over my paperwork for this service and told me how to cancel it. From that point on everything he did on my computer he explained it to me. He was extremely patient with me and allowed me time to write down everything that was important. After removing all the garbage that was in my computer, installing new antivirus software, I opted to have him installed a little back up box for my computer so I never have to worry about losing all important data now that I was cancelling that service. Before I retired I worked for a very large organization that had a full computer support department available 24/7 to handle any and all of my computer problems. Now I have Marvin, my personal computer person and have peace of mind I will never have to worry about my computer again. I am most grateful for finding him on Angie?s List.

The increased speed of my computer is a complete revelation to me--I had no idea It was collecting all that sluggish garbage, and certainly no idea what was garbage and what was not. Most helpful also is that Marvin is a teacher at the same time he is being a master technical worker. I am much more able to recognize the telltale signs of stuff in my computer that indicate trouble. The devil does seem to be in the details, and Marvin deals with the details. I also liked that he seemed to be very conscious of giving good value for his already quite reasonable fee. and he certainly did that.

Marvin came and listened to what I wanted done, asked a few question and went to work. He removed kids games, removed malware on computer and installed a free virus protection program. Could not install WordPerfect b/c my disc was damaged, but made suggestions as to how to solve Word/ WordPerfect interface issues. Also provided additional information about my computer for future reference. I was VERY happy with the service and would use him again.

Marvin was great. He helped us with some "bad" sites that were on our computer. Very informative. Will definitely call him again.

Removed all unwanted applications to make the pc run faster.

We could not have asked for a better experience. Marvin came over to our house on a Thursday evening for a 5PM appointment and stayed until 8PM to to fix a laptop that was having significant problems. This was a time critical need for us because it had information for my wife's school with assignments due that weekend. Marvin got it to a serviceable condition where she could retrieve the data but since Marvin could not return the computer to perfect condition, he did not charge us a cent for his 3 hours of work. The reason was later determined to be a defective hard drive, which he replaced the next week after my wife finished the school work. We later gave him the computer to work on at his shop where he replaced the hard drive and did all the data transfer. He returned to our house to finish set up. The computer works perfectly again. When he says that he charges to fix the problem, he means it. The first visit, he did not fix it to his standards so he didn't charge us, even though he put the computer into a usable mode (sine the hard drive was defective, it was only a matter of time before things got worse). That's a very refreshing business model because he knows he does quality work and will earn your business. Since the laptop was new and was a higher-end model, we opted to fix it instead of buy a new one. With all the computer repair businesses out there, my first stop was to Angie's List. I read some ratings and saw how Marvin had excellent reviews and I am happy to add my review to this list.

Arrived on time and informed me every step of the way about what was going on and how to resolve it..

Marvin advertises that he is for the computer frustrated, which we were. He scheduled us within the week on one of our choice dates. Due the significant amount of malware and the fact that he had an additional hour available, he stayed until his work was done. He got rid of a lot of mess, leaving our computer much more efficient and speedier. He showed us what to do along the way, including how to check regularly for malware and how to regularly back up our computer. He is a very patient coach and extremely knowledgeable about PCs. We were glad that he was able to do the work in-home. We will keep Marvin's card close by for any future irregularities, and consult with him when our now cleansed computer is no longer effective. Marvin came to my house and diagnosed my old laptop, checked out my new laptop and completely explained what he thought I needed and what it would cost. He took both laptops back to his shop, completed the work and brought both back in 2 days. Everything worked perfectly until I did a "stupid" and unintentionally downloaded a load of dangerous "bugs". I called him in a panic and he patiently went thru my laptop by remote and fixed my mess. Whew! Marvin will be my "GO TO GUY" from now on!

The service has been fine. He is currently doing more work for us and we did recommend him to my brother as well. We feel that the coupon was a good deal as we thought we were going to have to get a new computer. He was able to get it running well as he is very knowledgeable and he gave us good advice on what to use to keep the computer running smoothly.

He asked preliminary ?s before coming out to see my old system and completed the inventory quickly. He explained that my old printer may need to be replaced as it might not work correctly with the upgraded software (he was right). The following week I had the new PC. Both appointments were a few minutes ahead of schedule but he called in advance to see if it was ok to use. I'd purchase again from him.

Marvin has been extremely helpful. I've talked to him several times and we've been shoveling computers back and forth. He's responsive and professional for a service where trust is critically important. His service is great and he is sensitive enough to make sure that I understand. I am really happy to have him! He's right at the top 2 list and I picked him based on location - he's literally 10 doors down. He charges $100 an hour for on-site service but so far, my impression is that his quality is very-very-very high. You get what you pay for with him.

Marvin was punctual and professional. Came in examined my computer and gave me a full explanation of what was wrong and what needed fixing. He explained everything that I needed and did the appropriate update. Recommended what I needed but did not pressure me into getting it. Very honest business and person. will recommend to all I can

The owner of this outfit came to my home in a timely manner, was extremely knowledgeable, spent 1 1/2 hours working with my computer and solved most of the problems that I was having.I was charged a very fair price considering the time the gentleman spent and would use his services again in a heartbeat.
