We ended up buying a screaming fast new pc built by Marvin to our specifications. He also helped us set up a home network, wireless printing from a laptop, printing from our cellphones and conducting daily backups for 2 pcs. He is thorough and detail oriented, critical skills for his line of work. We would definitely contact Marvin again for any pc concerns

When my computer crashed, I started looking for a good repair man. When I went on Angie's List and started reading the comments about Marvin, I thought, boy are we lucky that he chose to live in our area. I have to say, not only did he live up to my expectations, he exceded them. He went above and beyond in his efforts to solve my problem. My old computer was not repairable and since I'm a senior living on a small, fixed income, my funds were low. Marvin refurbished a computer he had and sold it to me at a price I could afford. But even more impressive, was the time he spent retrieving my data from the old computer. When I got the computer and turned it on, it was as if I had my old computer back. He had taken a great effort to not only restore my data but to have everything exactly in place as I had left it. Even though it took much longer than he expected to retrieve the data, he stuck with the price he had originally quoted. If your looking for someone to repair your computer, Marvin is your guy.

Great time with Marvin. Tuned up my wife and mine's PCs. Installed a great free antivirus program and ad-blocker. Cleaned up a bunch of stuff I didn't need on our PCs that were slowing them down. Both our PCs are MUCH faster now. Keep in mind, the cost of service was an introductory fee.

We have had Marvin come at lease 3 times in the last 3-4 years to help solve our computer problems and every time his work is knowledgeable, understandable and professionalism was beyond reproach.

Marvin cleaned and backed up my computer. He is very knowledgable and polite. He also updated my software and made it work faster. He also informed me about about newer software and about the difference there is. I have had Softserve PC 's before and I would hire him again, because I trust him. Sometimes you have to waite, because he is very busy, but it is worth it. I recommend Softserve PC . Try it yourself.

Marvin called to see if it was OK if he came by earlier than our appointment because he knew my business was suffering. I was delighted! He took care of the problems, removed some bloatware on a new computer, identified some security concerns--and installed freeware that took care of them. My business was back up and running earlier than anticipated and SoftservePC gained a new loyal customer.

Marvin was able to pinpoint all the problems and I made a decision to scrap the old computer and have Marvin transfer everything to a new one. I am not tech savvy but his information and instructions have made getting used to the new computer a lot easier. I am extremely pleased with the new set up.

I’m happy to add to the enthusiastic reviews for SoftservePC. My ten-year old system was slowing down and the hard drive storage was nearing capacity. Microsoft had discontinued support for Windows XP and some system functions were slowing to a crawl. It was time to update but, hearing so many horror stories, I was dreading the day that I would have to make the switch to a new system. I found Marvin on Angie’s List. He came out and together we reviewed my requirements for a new system. He gave me an estimate and we agreed to proceed. I then went on vacation as he was putting it all together. When I returned, he stopped by and picked up my old system. Three days later, he was back with both old and new units. At the end of the hour, he had set the new system up, reviewed its operation and answered my questions. As he left, he advised me to call if I had any further questions or issues. Six months later, I have yet to call him. Everything works exactly as promised. What a great experience! The entire process went smoothly. When getting started, my initial calls were either immediately answered by his wife or returned quickly after leaving a voice mail message. Marvin showed up promptly for his appointments or once, called to let me know when he was delayed in traffic. In going over my requirements, I felt that he recommended just the system, software updates and hardware, to fit my needs. We had gotten ourselves into a computer scam and needed help to get out of it and clean up our lap tops, and put our printer back on line. Marvin was very professional and personable. He educated us on what happened to us and how to keep it from happening again. We are very greatfull for this information and feel it should keep us out of trouble in the future. Marvin then cleaned up our lap tops closing and locking the door on our scammer. Marvin educated us on the best search engine for us and set that up. He was here 1 1/2 hours for $130.00 with discounts which we were happy to pay, as it was very reasonable for all he did.. He got alot done in this short amount of time. We will continue to use Marvin's business for all our computer needs in the future. We could not be happier with him and his service.

Excellent. He knows that he is doing. Works quickly. Charges a price that is very fair. I will have him back to solve some more problems which we did not schedule time for him to work on. He was laser focused on the priorities of the task I asked him to solve and it was done to perfection. As long as he is in the business, I will give him any work I need done. He may also build my next computer for me rather than going to one of the big boxes.

Great. Marvin spent a lot of time working through the incorrect installation, took his own time to research possible work arounds and then installed what was possible and figured out best way to get what was lost. His strength is explaining the details of what problem is and what he is doing. He also gave a lot of suggestions for day to day stuff I could do to build on what he did. He sees himself as a teacher which he is.

Couldn't have been better. Scheduling appointment went smoothly. Marvin got rid of spyware, installed security program, tuned up computer and gave me good information about possible computer upgrade and computer use in general. The high grades people have given Software PC are no fluke - Marvin is helpful and informative.

Marvin exceeds the promises he makes in his advertisements. If there were a rating higher than "A", I'd be pleased to give it to him. He is one of the most honorable, thorough and professional vendors I have ever used, both professionally and privately. When my last "big box" store PC failed in less than one year, I decided that the route to go was to have my own built. Like most of us these days, I was fearful to give up my system and data to a person I hadn't known for a gazillion years. But Marvin assured me of his integrity and honesty and delivered beyond expectation a system that is the best machine I have ever owned ... and I never once felt that my data was at risk. Marvin is true to his word(s) that he is professional, knowledgeable and available to support his clients. I have owned many machines over the years and have hired several PC technicians, but NONE has come close to Marvin in terms of ability, customer care, follow on service and ability ... this man is TRUE TO HIS WORD and deserves the highest consideration for the work he offers. Since finding Marvin on Angie's List in 2015, I have used him several times to tweak my two PCs, and he has never failed to perform to what he has represented. When it came time for me to custom build a machine, he was there and performed above expectation. I have owned my new "Marvin-PC" for three months, which is long enough to de-bug it ... but funny thing, it worked flawlessly (as promised) from day 1 to present. If you want a very competitively priced to retail PC that meets your specific requirements, rather than being forced into a "big-box" solution, Marvin is your man. He is honest to the "n-th degree", straightforward and accurate with his assessments and a person you can really trust. I am a value oriented person, and I feel comfortable paying Marvin's fees, because I know I have received the best opinion and service for the prices charged. He is very price competitive and very creative in his approach to problem solving. Follow up, punctuality, reliability with concern should be part of his slogan. He's the real deal and well worth hiring to do any PC work you need. A nice feature also is that he will tell you if he doesn't know something --- no "fluffing the answer", but thankfully, he has never been at a loss for knowing what to do for me.

As a small business owner, my computer is vital to me. My old computer had developed some issues so I thought I'd better check it out before disaster struck. I found Marvin through Angie's List. He had excellent referrals so I made an appointment with him to come by and look at my old system. He was very business-like and checked everything thoroughly before he made his recommendations. Everything he said made complete sense to me so I asked him to build me a new pc that would better serve my needs. He listened carefully to my priorities. I felt complete trust and confidence in his abilities. Marvin did a great job of building my new computer. And after the computer was installed he followed up to make the transition easy for me. This company is without a doubt the best and most professional I've found. I will definitely continue doing business with them in the future.

We dropped the laptop off and he had it done fairly quick. Awesome.

I was trying to get this done right before Christmas, but Marvin couldn't accommodate. I don't fault him for this as it was not reasonable to expect him to do so. He told me to call him back later and schedule a time with his wife for him to do the work. I had a few conversations with him leading up to the work where I explained what I wanted (I am just tech savvy enough to be dangerous, but not to do the actual work) and he told me how he could accomplish it. I dropped the laptop off on a Wednesday (he would have picked it up) he said it would be ready Friday or Monday. The hard drive caddy I'd ordered was broken, so I ordered a new one to arrive at his house on Thursday. Due to his workload and this hiccup, he was not able to get it done Friday, but did work over the weekend and I picked it up Sunday. Every day my son was without his new laptop was difficult for him, so he was very excited to get it early and spent a lot of Sunday working with it. He even used it to do some homework Sunday night. All in all, we are happy customers. My only very minor complaint is the cost, but I blame myself more for either 1) not buying a laptop with an SSD to begin with and/or 2) not being able to do the work myself (the website reviews/recommendations were mainly from techies who were doing this themselves. So, while it was hard to pay $180 on top of the hard drive I purchased, I feel I got what I paid for! I am very happy with Marvin's work and would use him again for anything related to computer repair/building.
