Description of Work: Marvin was great. He was running behind due to a prior appointment but called twice to keep me updated. He was able to solve our networking issue with some creative problem solving. Everything is working great now! He was very professional and didn't try to sell me on things I didn't need. He took the time to explain what he was doing and why because I asked and answered all my questions. He also charged a very fair price for the work he performed and time he spent at my home. I would definitely use his services again.

Description of Work: Repaired 2 laptops and installed a hard drive back up cable modem.

Description of Work: "Cleaned up" three computers, installed antivirus which was found lacking. Went well, he spent more time than scheduled because he did not want to leave things undone. That was very nice of him to do for us. We are really lacking in technical skills & will have him back for training session.

Description of Work: Marvin is the owner and operator. He is so conscientious about his work. I had major problems with my computer system. He came in and cleaned up what he could. After a while he said that my system was so old it was a miracle that it was still functioning. I worked with the system after he left and finally decided that he was correct since it was built in 2005 that it needed to be replaced. He built me a new computer. The accounting software that I use was one that he had never used before. He worked very hard and studied about the system and researching about it so he could properly set it up. He is a very hard worker and wants everything to be correct when he leaves. After a few trips everything was straightened out and the new computer and software work great. I highly recommend Marvin and Software PC's for all your computer needs.

Description of Work: Marvin (and his wife Rita!) from the time I sent an email, (answered the same day!) were nothing but way above board!!! Marvin told us exactly what he would do and why.......it was totally refreshing in this day and age to have such an expert who knows what his business is.....NO BULL whatsoever!!!! He installed and set up our new work computer, after downloading all of our necessary files. He was prompt, honest, fast and very informative!! We are both pushing 70, and the total experience was a true delight! Will have him do all our work from now on! ( we had had an internet book selling business for over 15 years now) We have tried several "services" ....and nothing compares with Marvin and Softserve!!!

Description of Work: I had a response to my original inquiry within an hour, and an appointment was scheduled. On the day, Marvin called to say his previous appointment had ended early and he could come over about an hour earlier if that would be convenient (which was fine). He checked my PC, explained what was probably making it run so slowly, cleaned off a lot of malware and spam applications, and left it in much better shape.

Description of Work: My computer had viruses and needed better overall protection. He spent time explaining everything he was doing and cleaned everything and now my computer works perfectly, faster and is fully protected. Was extremely nice and professional and would definitely use him again and highly reccomend his company!

Description of Work: Replaced hard drive in my pc. He also had several creative suggestions to up grade the performance of the computer. He suggested a change in several pieces of software including the antivirus program. He also created a backup system using the old hard drive and then took the time to thoughtfully explain how to use all the changes an upgrades. In addition , I had a problem with some data on the pc that was from an iPhone (lost photos etc.). He researched recovery software, installed it an taught me how to use it. All of the work was billed at the original estimate even though at least double the time was spent. Outstanding job. Can't wait to use use their services again.

Description of Work: My wife had work done on her PC and so we asked if my unusable/inaccessible USB jump drive's data could be recovered. I had asked several other repair places and got responses ranging from don't know to can't recover to we'll do it for (large number of dollars). Softserve did it quickly, completely and at a reasonable price and with discretion for my personal data.
