Things went excellently. I called around 10AM, and they were able to offer us a service technician between 2 and 5. Woman on the phone was very friendly and helpful. The rep actually arrived early! They confirmed our issue, and were able to offer immediate repair at a price that was affordable and reasonable. everything was fixed correctly the first time. Even got my receipt in email. In our instance, Sky H&C replaced the fan capacitor in our AC condenser. Arguably not the most expensive component in the world. However, to have a trained and reputable contractor come out same day, quickly and efficiently resolve the issue, so that I'd not have to miss a day at work? Worth every penny.
Description of Work: Our air conditioning system's condenser began malfunctioning. Fan wouldn't spin, system was pushing warm air.

We are very happy with the work done by Sky Heating & AC. The addition to our house has no ducts, while the rest of the house is ducted. This made the prospect of adding AC and replacing our furnace more complicated than many installs. We spent a lot of time researching options and received multiple bids, which varied broadly. We chose Sky because their bid was competitive and could tell they really know their stuff. Greg, in making the estimate, clearly communicated a few different options and made careful measurements. Greg and the installation manager, Mike, then made a detailed plan for the install, prioritizing what would work well and also look good. We were very impressed with the time they spent putting the plan together. When the time came for the actual install, the crew, lead by Dan, continued to impress us. They were hard-working, polite, and clearly put in extra effort to make the system work well. Dan's craftsmanship was amazing - everything looks beautiful and works well! Our experience with Sky Heating and AC was great from start to finish! Highly recommended!

I called for service early the morning and within just a couple of hours a representative arrived. Excellent service from Rick at Sky Heating from beginning to end! Rick took all my questions and talked through his actions as he worked, he was very professional and explained each step when going through the troubleshooting process. This is important to me since I like to learn more about the troubleshooting steps needed to repair major home systems. Rick quickly found the problem and had it repaired right away, and then performed a number of safety checks and gave the furnace a little general inspection. After I asked about it, we also talked about the future prospects for additional repairs to this furnace versus eventual replacement, and I felt his guidance was quite fair and realistic. I am very pleased to find this great local company, and highly recommend Sky Heating!

I could write a diatribe here with specific dates and whatnot, but I will spare you the trouble of reading it all. To sum it up: The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. And neither hand will call you back. Sky did a mostly good job of installing our ductless heat pump. Travis seemed like he cared about doing good work. They did forget the UV tape on the lineset, but that is a minor oversight. They also failed to seal up the hole in the wall, although that isn't a huge deal either. The heat pump works and the installation looks clean, other than those minor nitpicks. The installers, overall, did good work. The problem I have boils down to two relatively minor issues: 1) When it's cooling, it often puts out a bad smell, and 2) It makes an obnoxious rattling sound sometimes. Neither of these are huge problems, and I could probably take care of them myself (although they're both kind of tricky issues). But, being perhaps a bit too trustworthy and naive, I expected Sky would resolve these issues and stand behind their product. I initiated contact with them several times over the course of the first couple years of owning the heat pump, and each time it was a comedy of errors, with people not getting back to me, emails and phone calls being ignored, techs coming out and not receiving clear information from dispatch and leaving without fixing anything. Does no one in this company know how to write things down, use email, or keep a schedule? My last contact with Sky was a talking to a woman in the service department on the phone, who basically argued with me and told me she'd get back to me, which, you guessed it -- she never did. Now that the labor warranty is expired, such wastes of time also cost me $110 per trip, so I have given up. I admit that I could have been more aggressive about getting these issues resolved within that 1 year warranty window, but I dreaded dealing with their BS so much that I ended up putting it off over and over. I won't be bothering with Sky anymore. And I won't be hiring them for any future work.

The technician was on time on the date we expected. He was able to complete the install to include the A/C unit itself in about 4 hours. Very detailed, careful and meticulous. He tested and verified all was in working order. Also cleaned up after himself. All in all good experience.

Braden was very nice and very professional, he fixed the until quickly and then showed us some things to do to maintain the unit better. I could not be more pleased. 90+ degree weather and getting my heat-pump fixed in under two hours!

I contacted them in the morning - via Angie's messaging - and they responded quickly to let me know the message had been sent to the service manager. As expected, it's a super busy day - it is the 3rd of July, a Friday, and the middle of a heat wave. I got a call within 2 hours, and they put me on the list for service today. This was exceptional! I didn't expect to get in today, and was very very pleased with the service and with this company. I use them regularly for maintenance as well, and have always had great service!

I met with and got bids from 5 different vendors when I wanted to install a/c in my home, which had none. I chose Sky for the following reasons: the price was competitive, they belong to trade associations like the Homebuilders Association, which attracts the most professional vendors, their staff was highly responsive, efficient and likeable, and they were thorough in assessing the needs of my house in terms of a/c. Karin the sales agent really knew the technical side of the business, and her warm personality was great to work with. Anthony was quick, knowledgeable, and personable. Travis is a very astute business person, also highly responsive. The installer was also very personable, on time, and kept me informed of progress. Karin was quick to respond to my concerns about some of the older comments in social media about Sky with a reassuring answer. Two remodelers I knew well also recommended Sky. Les, the NATE certified technician performing the diagnostic, was very thorough and diligent in his efforts to first effect a repair on the 14-year old furnace, reviewing his findings with me at each step. When it became evident that a replacement was needed, Karin, the System Designer, was equally thorough in presenting me with multiple options in a variety of price ranges and she followed up to schedule the installation very promptly. I selected a Trane product which, although a bit more costly than some of the options, I believe will prove to be a very good value. The installation proved to be a challenging one, in particular due to the proximity of the furnace to two plumbing lines. The Sky installer, Jim, mastered the challenges. He managed each step of the two-day installation efficiently and adeptly, ably assisted on the second day by a second installer Earl. Jim took additional time to improve on the placement of the plumbing lines, an added benefit to me. I was very impressed by the customer service and professionalism of each of the Sky Heating team members with whom I worked. I already have recommended them to other friends and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.
Description of Work: When the gas furnace in my home unexpectedly malfunctioned, Sky Heating provided excellent customer service through each phase of the process to determine if the furnace could be repaired or needed to be replaced.

UPDATE TO COMPANY'S RESPONSE: Our response to his letter: 1) In his response he claims boxes were covering vents- they are not, and none of the service people coming to the house ever examined the vents. Even if boxes were covering vents, it would NOT impact the thermostats ability to accurately function. It is not regulating the system properly. In fact each time the techs came out they verified a problem with the thermostats and that is why they were replaced. 2) They claim Stan Jaco the Trane service rep came out and said nothing was wrong, when in fact he told the service tech there WAS something wrong with our system which was never addressed by Sky Heating. 3) Lastly we have NEVER ask for a thermostat to be changed NOR a free upgrade of thermostat. They offered an upgrade because they said the one THEY sold us with our HVAC system they claimed was a new model and the new one they gave us would solve all our problems. It did not. This response goes beyond personal insult and registers as deceptive business practices which Angies List claims to protect its members from which is why I ask that the above response be admitted to the chain to warn others of this company's pattern of behaviors as we see several reviews with similar problems and reviews. I would appreciate your response in how we may respond formally to these false claims to warn others of this as is the intent of your business. I think people need to know they are out and out lying in there response which is an important thing when considering hiring a contractor! Thank you for all your help with this unpleasant problem! Description of Work: We had a new HE HVAC installed. The Trane furnace worked like a dream the first winter, our home and all rooms were evenly warm and comfortable for the first time, but in spring when the AC was connected to the system our temperatures in the house went from 62(freezing!) to too hot. They blamed it on the thermostats and changed them 6 times. They insisted that the problems were due to the Trane thermostats and said if we changed to a comparable Honeywell our problems would be solved. We agreed and our high end thermostat we bought was switched out with a low budget thermostat which can not operate our new system. They also informed us that they would no longer honor the five year labor warranty which was part of the package (for no reason) and when we tried to reach the owner for comment have never heard back. Throughout the ordeal, we became placed as a low priority by the field scheduler Michelle, being helped by techs which did not know anything about the thermostat(I had to show them how to program it!), behind other clients over the course of eight months and phone calls were not returned. It was only when we went into the office to seek help that we got help. Now I don't know what to do as no one has called us to explain why things have changed! And our system is still not operating to its design and we do not even have a thermostat which can operate the features other than basic on and off! No one we can reach has a reason for our warranty being voided and the owner will not speak with us nor return calls! The mfg says this provider is not one of the preferred providers they have in the area so I would recommend going with others so you are not stranded and abandoned (?) as we are. We are very puzzled when we spent this amount of money and have been so patient with them why we would be treated so unprofessionally and with such disrespect. We now have a new furnace which we didn't even need, which operates the same as our old, inefficient one leaving rooms cold and humid. If we turn on our dehumidifierto dry things out the heat won't run at all as the thermostat shows a higher than is accurate temperature! We need Angies List to help us get our programmable Trane thermostat back so we can operate our system, our system fixed so we have what we paid for aren't freezing or sweltering and our written five year labor warranty honored as was promised to us. It is through absolutely no fault of ours the system has never operated consistently and no reason was ever found for the system causing the thermostats to malfunction( all malfunctions were verified by techs). All techs were polite and seemed to try to help us, the problem has just never been resolved and they have now kicked us to the curb with no reason!

We can do this as soon as possible, it is no problem to change the thermostat back to the XL824, but that is NOT the complaint they originally told us, they wanted us to give them a better thermostat that they found on the Trane website that will not work with their system. We did not void their entire warranty, we have told them that we can not keep warrantying calls that are due to improper operation. Any fault of the system is still under the warranty, but we have changed the thermostat AT THEIR DIRECTION 6 times. We have only found 1 fault in the system ever and that was the first time we changed the thermostat. Each time since then they have wanted something better than what they had, they have asked for multiple upgrades for free. The house has many boxes covering up the registers and vents which causes bad airflow to the home. The homeowner is also using either humidifiers or dehumidifiers which are causing temperature issues in their home, as humidity affects the temperature sensed. Every time we have been to the house except for the first time the system has been working excellent, this was also verified by the Trane representative Stan Jaco in our area and his findings were the same as ours. To many boxes were covering vents causing temperature fluxtuations in the home. The system and thermostat is working fine. The customer originally had an XL624 thermostat installed, they then wanted an XL824(about a $250 upgrade) free of charge so we did that to make them happy, next they wanted a Trane XL950 installed(which is not meant to work with this system, it can be installed but is about a $1,000 upgrade). Customer also stated that they felt their must be an issue in the thermostat wire, we tested it and found nothing wrong but replaced it anyway to try and make them happy. We have gone above and beyond to work with this customer, but they have repeatedly asked for free items from us when no faults have occurred. We have also told them that to properly heat a home, all vents must be clear and have unobstructed airflow or they will have temperature fluctuations in the home and at the thermostat.No counter offer needed, we have no problems complying with their request of putting another XL824 thermostat in their house and their warranty was never void, we just can not warranty issues that are caused by improper use after repeated attempts to tell the homeowner the use is incorrect.

They were 45 min late with no phone call. When the serviceman got there he didn't know what was ordered. I had to actually show him the printed list of services I thought I had purchased. I really don't feel like I got what I paid for.

I called on Sunday but did not want to pay off hours premium so I was told they would call on Monday and have a technician here then. They called as promised and had someone out Monday morning. Tech was helpful, thorough, and friendly. He offered to sign me up for annual maintenance which I accepted. At the end of service, the unit did not spark so tech had to try again. It appears that there is an intermittent issue that may or may not be fixed. Unit was functioning when he left. I was told that if there were more issues within 30 days they would be back out with no charge.

they called me back monday morning and apologized. I did have a maintenance contract with them that was suppose to cover this especiall on weekends, but it didnt.
Description of Work: Hot water heater went out on Sunday. I called and was told they would contact the on call person and get back to me. .Their inspection revealed a cracked heat exchange, which I could see, and they had to shut off my furnace for safety reasons. That was on a Friday afternoon. On Monday their system designer, Karin, came out, examined my system and went over all my options in detail, including price and quality and different brands and taking into account my needs. We made a decision and the next day, Tuesday, the installer, Bob, was at my house with his helper promptly at 8:30. They completed the install and I had heat Tuesday evening. The following day a different expert came to make sure the new furnace would interface with the heat pump. Their service and follow-up was punctual, expertly done and they were very pleasant to deal with. Would highly recommend this company.

The furnace had stopped working and we didn't know if the problem was with the furnace or the thermostat. Sky Heating had someone answering the phone courteously and efficiently and she was able to schedule the service visit late in the same day I called. All went well and the furnace was on in less than an hour.
Description of Work: The technician arrived, diagnosed the problem with our furnace fairly quickly, replaced the malfunctioning piece of equipment - he had a new one in his truck - and got the heat on again.

Description of Work: Sky Heating put in my heating system when the house was built. As far as I was concerned they did great. I also had them out to do a check up of some things a couple years later and they did great. I bought a wifi thermostat (Honeywell, the same brand they installed in my house) at Home Depot. They told me they would not do it since I bought it elsewhere. I told them that they could give me a quote for getting it through them (and installing it) and they told me they would get back to me but never did.

[Member Name], the Honeywell thermostat from Home Depot is not a contractor grade thermostat. The features, warranties(5 year parts 1 year labor from us vs 1 year part only from HD) and installation are different which is part of the reason we do not install homeowner supplied equipment, if it breaks we can not warranty it. When I talked to our service manager she gave you an approximate price saying she would need to call back with an exact price and you said, that seems a bit high, I will figure something out. Our priority is no heat customers and anytime it gets into the 30s overnight we workin getting them heat first. I'm sorry you are frustrated we will not install your equipment but that is our business model and I'm sorry we did not get back to you right away when we had other people who didn't even have heat in their house. I do not see how we warrant an F review when you even said we did a great job installing your current heating system.

Our furnace is tuned up and ready to go for the up coming winter. Our gas fireplace is now operational - we have not been able to use if for over a year now as it would not light. The technician was able to find the issue and got it up and running and all cleaned - we are back in business to use this winter. Excellent service from Sky Heating.

We love this company! The owner (Travis) of this family owned company arrived and did a redesign of our entire system, replacing our former geo-thermal heat pump and ducting that had been poorly installed years ago. He also made recommendations for a number of upgrades. He provided a written estimate before he left. He was obviously knowledgable and could explain the technical functions of the system. It was a big job, and the company ended up spending about a week and a half under our house! The installation team, led by Anthony, was professional, courteous and efficient. They inspired confidence and trust and we hated to see them go when the job was done! The job itself is amazing. They took a crawl space that had been cramped with the former heat pump and criss-crossed ducting, and turned it into a spacious area with the equipment all lined up against a pony wall and barely visible ducting. The state-of-the-art system (Water Furnace Series 7) works great. The zoning allows us to adjust the temperature as appropriate for each area of our living space. They scheduled the inspection and filled out the tax credit paperwork. All-in-all, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!
Description of Work: We installed a new geo-thermal heat pump with three zones. Replaced and redesigned all ducting. Installed an additional geo-thermal heat pump for hot water heating, a whole house heat recovery ventilation system (air exchange) and an electronic air filter.

From our sales rep to the completed job was a pleasant experience.
Description of Work: They installed a ductless ac/heating sys. Everything in the house that could have gotten dirty was covered, the installation looks very clean and very professional. We are very happy with the service we received.
