I bought an Angie's List deal for $99. I didn't pay close enough attention to the details. Upon reflection, I decided the job was too small to bring a crew out. SFW reassured me that this was not the case, but I had made up my mind. Angie's List refused to refund my $99 because it had been more than 30 days since the purchase of the deal. SFW was kind enough to refund the money. The owner of the business told me the check would be in the mail, and sure enough, it arrived promptly. Based on the reviews that I've read and on my experience with SFW's customer service and ethics, I hope to call them for the repairs in conjunction with painting our house.

I purchased this deal on 08/15/2017. Crew came on 10/09/2017, worked diligently and efficiently and stayed til the project was done. This company was easy to deal with and I had no problems. Would recommend them easily with the warning that one may need to be willing to wait to be put on the work schedule, since they work each project in turn.

The guys showed up on time, completely explained the work to me and had everything done in about two hours.

Generally well, but it would have been useful for the company to sent a foreman to look over the project before commencing. If we had had a chance to talk about the project in advance, we might have found a less time-consuming (and cheaper) alternative. Instead, the crew showed up and started in without setting scope and cost expectations. I think the company is otherwise very professional and I recommend using their services.

Bought...sent in what I needed to get on the make an appointment list. Never heard from them after 2 weeks. Called and they did not even have me listed on the make appointment list so they said they would give me priority. 3 weeks later still did not hear from them. Called again and they stated they were 7 weeks out. SO make my appointment in 7 weeks instead of making me wait for your call. Very poor scheduling service and would advise you look somewhere else

And it was really, really high and I didn't follow up it was just too much. They are a fine company all around just high on price. I might use them again it was just that that particular task I felt like it didn't require that level of expenditure. So in the future I might give them a call they were nice people.

I had to wait for a month until SFW could get to my job. This was probably due to the response they got on Angie's List. When SFW did do the work it was finished in a day and a half and I was very pleased with the quality. Not only did they replace the damaged siding but discovered dry rot and repaired the area that had not been flashed. All things considered I would hire SFW again and recommend them to friends. Great. This was just a start. I live in a 90 year old tudor! We will do part 2 in the spring. I am hoping that they will let me take care of removing debris. It would cost me less if we could load it on their truck.

Everything went very smoothly. The three people that came arrived at the scheduled time and kept us informed both as to the probable cause as well as what they were doing to correct the issue. We were completely satisfied with this service and would definitely call them again if a need arises in the future.

SWF responded immediately to my order on Angies List. A family emergency prevented me from scheduling services immediately. SWF accommodated my request to reschedule at a later date. Once the service was rescheduled, the serviceman arrived promptly, and kept me advised of what their inspection revealed and of the progress of their work.. Two men worked all day, and a mason was also called in to do the finish work. I felt the work was done by competent and experienced people who quickly understood the problem. They were knowledgeable, courteous and competent.

We used SFW Construction to tackle dry rot repairs recently. They replaced our siding and garage beam in the two-day timeframe we requested. Their employees were punctual, courteous and hard-working throughout the process. We received end-of-day emails with the estimated cost. As a customer, you have an obligation to communicate clear and realistic expectations regarding the outcome you are seeking. Unlike other contractors, SFW Construction worked hard to exceed our needs and provide a quality product while being transparent along the way. They take pride in what they do and it shows!

They did exactly what they said they would; arrived with a crew early in the morning, demolished the old stairs, procured materials, and built the new set in a single day. Van and his crew were professional, courteous, and did not try to up-sell me on anything. The quality of the work is excellent and we are are happy with the results. My only disappointment was the price. I thought it was a bit stiff given the scope of the project--I'm sure I could have found someone to do it for less. However, to be fair, SFW told me up front what their labor rate was (average for the area), and bid the job pretty accurately when they showed up. It's just that they had a crew of 3, which was probably overkill. I decided to go forward anyway--a few extra bucks to get it over with--so it's no fault of their own. This is the reason for the "fair" price rating. Having said/written that, if/when I contract them in the future (which I may, to complete the entire deck), I will pay more careful attention to planning ahead of time. And I'd advise anyone else to do the same. Start with a single person to scope the job initially and procure materials (or procure them yourself), and then bring in the extra labor only when needed. The price will multiply pretty quickly, otherwise.

I purchased a Angie’s list coupon on 6/2 for ‘4 Hours of Water Damage Repair or Leaky Windows/Roof Repair.’ I received an immediate e-mail response from SFW noting they could send a crew out with a construction trailer to assess the problem and immediately begin the work, however their were scheduling 7-10 weeks out. Several weeks later they followed up, since I had not responded to arrange scheduling (I was out of town). I asked them what their scheduling looked like then. They responded by asking me if I wanted to be in the scheduling queue. I asked if they could give me possible dates for the work, as I’d also be out of town part of the next month. Their response was they would put me in the scheduling queue and would contact me as they got closer to a possible start date. They were going to let the scheduling manager know and she would reach out to me with a firm date. Two weeks later I’d had no response from the scheduling manager, and again requested tying down a firm date. I was told the scheduling manger would be cc’ed on their response and she’d give me an update on scheduling. A little after two weeks of that message, I received an e-mail from the scheduling manager that they could have a crew out at my home the next day at 7:30 AM. Certainly short notice, but fortunately, I was available then. So, it was a full month after I was told the scheduling manager would reach out to me and make a firm date, that I actually got a response. My concern with SFW was that actually scheduling a firm date for the work to begin was far too burdensome and complex. I felt I was not getting appropriate, or enough, communication from the office staff to set up a work start date. I understand their schedule availability seems to be busy and probably varies. However, better communications and scheduling practices would seem necessary. The work they did ended up being simply caulking some flashing around the tops of 3 windows. A crew of two spent 2 hours assessing and doing the work.

They did good work but it seemed excessively expensive.

Overall the job went well. The workman were skilled and enjoyable to interact with. The final product looks great.

Perfect. The team kept me informed of their findings and their plan to fix the dryrot. They showed up on time and worked hard & smart during every minute of billing. They kept the area clean & secure, and didn't damage any of the landscaping. During the evening each day, the office folks at SFW would send me an e-mail with that days estimated costs, so there were no surprises when I got the final bill.

We've used them for much more than it was in the deal.It actually turns out that they had to actually do exterior and repair that. I think it was over a process of several days that we had them out here. They credited us $149, but we ultimately paid them much more. They repaired the area on the roof that was the original cause of the leak which we thought had been repaired.In reality, we found out that it hadn't been repaired. They repaired that. Then, they replaced the drywall. Which was the original project we had them doing in our garage. Of course, they did the patching and painting of it. It took probably a week and a half. Here in Oregon, when it stops raining, that's when all the maintenance gets done. There was a slight delay with us getting the painters here to finish the job. They had some guys to do the patching and paint and the exterior work. Then, they had one and their painters had to come back and complete the job. Getting a painter or a roofer in Oregon in the spring and summer months is really difficult. It was a slight delay, but it was fine. Ultimately we spent $2,000. It was very clearly stated what their rate was and their rate was $65 per hour. So, it was clearly stated. So, there was never confusion any about what we were going to pay or the hours or anything like that. They came out and took a look based upon the job scope. They didn't come put to give us the estimate before they did the work. We sent them pictures via email back and forth, so they knew what they were coming to do. Quite possibly had it only been the work that needed to be done as we all expected, it would've been done in four hours. That's okay we got it fixed. They cleaned up. The guys that were here on site, they communicated well. We had to call the office to schedule the painting, they were able to figure that all out. They did a good follow up with us.

There was a 3-5 week waiting period for an appointment so it was cancelled. Was able to find a company to come sooner.

Levi and his team were professional and communicated well about the status of the project. They ended up spending 32 hrs to repair the leak, but didn't stop when they initially couldn't find the source of the water. They double checked with me along the way to make sure the job was completed how I wanted it. They also were ok with me hiring an outside painter to come finish the job. After my initial purchase from Angie's list I was contacted very shortly after by SFW and told that there would be a 7 wk lead time (not a problem). At 9 wk past this exchange, I emailed the office, after hearing nothing, and they let me know that it would still be a couple of weeks. Timing was not a problem on my end, but the lack of update was slightly annoying considering I needed to arrange my schedule to let the team into my home. Additionally, there was no notification that a trailer full of tools would be dropped off in front of my home the day before the work started. Again, this wasn't an issue, I was just surprised to see the trailer when I arrived home from work. In some cases, that may cause issues for customers. In general, the work performed was of high quality and very professional.

Work done was quality, workers were very professional, but communication with customer needs work.

I was very pleased to be able to schedule the work for the Monday of the week after I purchased the Angie's List promo. The crew was there at 7:30 AM and provided an initial estimate for the work based on observable dry rot. As noted, and not too unexpectedly, the job had to be expanded when additional dry rot was found. All the work except painting was completed on that day. It took two carpenters a full day (15.5 man hours total) but the railing was ready for paint by the end of the day. The quality is excellent: the railing is solid and looks identical to the existing railing elsewhere on the porch and steps. Because the carpentry/dry rot repair turned into a larger job, I used someone else to do the painting at a lower labor rate. They are not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for: I would recommend them and will use them again for jobs where quality and attention to detail is important.

They were far more expensive than even their highest estimate. They took far longer than in my opinion should have. They had 2 guys working on it for 3 days. If I had the tools, I could have done the work in a day. They showed up on time. They did good work, but they were slow as molasses and expensive because of that. I would probably not use them again.
